Weight is a good indictator. As Drake says, the lable on teh inside. General feel of the helmet... a real one is made out of Kevlar, right? Well replicas aren't. They're fibreglass, so they make a different noise when tapped too.

Very Rainbow Six LV! It's nice. Things to do: replace cats eye band with an OD one.. it looks fine with my PASGT, but thats cos my PASGT has an Austrian helmet cover, base colour brown. Respray lid Olive rather than the supplied RG ( Really green). Norotos mount on front, probs Olive too. Change retention system for a real one in foliage green. Glint patch for top. Twin OD UK flags on sides. Gotta say, rain plus self adhesive velcro = fail. It stayed on, but I had to essentially cook the helmet to dry em out. Update on my loadout.. a SAS style smock in Austrian. It is lush. I love it. I want its babies. Sorry for the silly grin, my Springer Spaniels always hate it when I wear my MICH ( for some reason, they have no probs with my PASGT :S ) so they were going mental. Need more AUG mags, only got 5, and I got ten pouches. Also need to align my belt properly. Getting a can of Olive Krylon on Sunday too, so the MICH will be resprayed, and the rig will get a dusting to bring it all down a bit. EDIT: Also, a fricking haircut, this Friday. :D

I was chatting to Tread on Sunday about the true A2 thing.. I've never realised before, but yes, I realise now, a TRUE A2 would be freaking badass. However, I'm still lost on what makes a true A3? Exluding the changed charging lever, I haven't seen anything different twixt the airsoft ACTION RAS and the RS A3. Although of course I haven't had a hold in RL... Also, AUG mag pouches. Atm, I'm using M4 shingles with a lil snick cut out of the pouch, which works OK, but sometimes they snag which = fail. Are there any AUG specific mag pouches, or is just a case of using big rattly mag pouches lik

Currently velcroing up my helmet in preparation for nametape ( rear) glint patch ( top) and Subdued UK flag/s ( side/s), but what's the general consensus on number of flags. I've noticed some people have flags on both sides, some have velcro both sides but only one flag.. is this due to budgetary/can't be arsed reasons, or is it something that has a reason in RL?

Nothing special, as I believe AUGs should be undoctored... the only thing I'm gonna do is put a RIS barrel clamp on it for the rare occassions I could use a torch.

My new JG HK416 w/ 417 crane stock. Supplied battery is utter wank, but the internals must be made of adamantium, as out of the box it was doing a VERY consistent 425. Downgraded to 320 now, but damn is she a lovely shooter. Almost a shame EVERYTHING but the crane stock and gearbox and motor are going! The trades aren't too bad, but I've got some nice glue scarring

Wahey! My Ebaybanned OD MICH 2002 turned up... do all MICHs have surface texture that is like sandpaper? The pads are quite good, soft memory foam and all that, the straps are ok, except I had to fiddle around a bit to stop the helmet sitting squiffy ( it pointed about 10 degrees to my right). I would put a picture up, but I have super long ginger hair atm, and although I can tuck it into my PASGT, the MICH straps make that impossible, so you'll end up with a picture of ginger hair sticking out of a MICH. Definetely needs a OD/Foliage Green retention system though, black is just lame. Al

*groan* Lol, My Dad and I used to grab anything old and military looking... we've got shells ranging from 5.45mm to 155mm as well. Although I have to say, I am after one new blade... apparently its called a Long Sax ( my friend says the Sax was a knife type blade designed to be used with an axe) and its from... wait for it... I'm not a knife guy ( don't see the point in em personally, but each to their own!) but I do have a large pile of various bayonets... Couple of pig stickers, two WW1 sword bayonets, an Afrika Korp knife, a nasty lil bayonet that is a cross when viewed point on, a zulu era bayonet ( british one), some form of scimitar, and a genuine zulu spear, as well as some sort of Arabian decorative knife. Loads of things.. i'll post up a picture tomorrow, maybe some of you guys can identify wtf I have...

The Austrian works surprisingly well everywhere actually, but its favourite environment is Autumn/Winter and dead everything... and its par with a ghillie in a pine forest ( where its designed to be used)! I hearts this thread, some ace pictures!

Hooray for centuries of war meaning we have fortifications and barracks everywhere lol I've since got rid of the M4 ( or rather, its currently selling for parts), and got an AUG military, and I have a MOLLE belt to put my dumper, two shingles and a holster on... I've replaced the mag pouches in these pics with 8 shingles too, as they take AUG and M4 mags equally well. Also got a project under way to fit OPS kneepads into a pair of the trousers, and I have a MICH 2002 on the way in OD for pimpage. Going to get a cover made up for it with foliage loops,
