  1. Because SS barrels are typically only used in competition guns. They're noticeably heavier than hammer forged barrels and whatnot. My BCM barrel as compared to the Lothar Walther that's in my Larue SBR are night and day weight wise. Pounds equal pain here.
  2. It's painted matte black already, it turns brown along the waistline of the can from heating up. It's not meant to be pretty, it's mean to do a job. Thanks for all the advice, guys.
  3. I ended up going with black. The black turns a dark brown anyways from heat discoloration. I'll post pics in...uh...5 months. Blargh. USCM made the final deciding argument, and he agreed. USCM your check will be in the mail soon. lol
  4. I think I'll change my order to a Taupe NT4 can. Too bad it'll still take 5 months to get here. Thanks.
  5. Black. The taupes discolor really bad. And frankly black never goes out of style. Plus it naturally turns brown from wear and tear. Though I could still change it, what do you guys think, black or tan NT4?
  6. i.e it's the KAC suppressor. In about 4-5 months I'll show you guys my real one. And yes it's designed to interface with the triple tap, though it's not warrantied for reasons I can't discuss in this thread.
  7. Here's some photographic reference (it is ONLY for reference, so please don't ask me for discussion as I'm trying to provide as much real world insight as I can without breaking the rules). This is relevant to USCM's post and would help you guys out if you're interested in replicating how the real triple taps weather.
  8. That sounds like a challenge I'm willing to accept.
  9. I need this to go with my real PEQ-15 http://www.rsov.com/index.php?target=produ...product_id=3881
  10. You want scopes as close to the bore as possible, looks like it works just fine without the riser.
  11. Having tried one of these myself, gonna completely disagree on quality vs a PVS, not in a million years do these outpace a PVS: http://www.ar15.com/content/products/night...cs/supervision/
  12. You'll be sad to know that redi-mod isn't on that gun anymore. Same setup, but no redi-mod, and my PEQ-2 is back on the gun (I ditched it for a while). After I get my BADs I'll do an updated family photo in the real steel thread for ya.
  13. I've yet to really hear of a situation where a GBB malfunction clearance needs to be worked out like that of a real rifle. Maybe I've never seen gbb have a stuck cartridge, double feed, etc. Oh well, whatever, 99 percent of airsoft is just looking the part. I'm still waiting to get my dang BADs for my real guns. Dang airsofters gobbling 'em all up! Grrr....
  14. Trade secrets, my son, trade secrets...
  15. No in fact it did not, it's around 1K, but not 6K like the asian sellers were trying to let them sell for. Oh and mine's legal, there's aren't.
  16. Yeah it's pretty blingy on airsoft guns. I look at it from a real shooter perspective. And the BAD is a great device, but it's developed for the benefit of malfunction clearance when you're essentially taking both hands off your main controls and now having to manhandle your rifle to clear a stuck shell, etc. Talking with Travis face to face I think the misconception is that it's for faster reloads. That's a byproduct, but it's primarily for being handle to work the bolt when working those malfunctions. Again don't get me wrong, I had Leupolds, Aimpoints, Insight PEQs, RASs, on real
  17. You'll need that BAD for all those high speed bb malfunction clearing.
  18. Magpul was popular before Travis Haley and Chris Costa joined the company. Frankly I'm all for instructors becoming "pinups" because if it motivates people to get out and LEARN how to use their weapons effectively, then a great service is being done. 99% of people on AR15 shoot their rifles off a bench. Observe horrible muzzle control. And generally don't know their butt from the ejection port. It's the same issues I observe most airsofters having (muzzle control, etc) just with more dangerous toys. Even Chris and Travis think the idol thing is way overkill, but if it gets peopl
  19. Nah those are blemishes on the tube.
  20. KAC direct pretty much. 60.00 shipped. Just an FYI they won't ship out to CA. Period.
  21. Ironically that actually looks more like MY real SBR than Chris'. heh
  22. Those were SR-15 E3 IWS uppers, with non-KAC lowers
