  1. Interesting little blighters. However with the RPK I do tend to 'lead' fire onto moving targets quite often (it's not the easiest to aim with whilst moving and trying to lead shots on another moving target), so I suspect I'll be staying with the excel.
  2. I'd say it makes perfect sense to me.
  3. Let me hear you say wayooo. Jebus, please don't spam posts just to make the necessary post count. People doing such a thing has already been discussed, and its been made clear by some of the 'senior' members here that anyone found to be doing it will have their post-counts cleared. Just something to bear in mind. P.S, before you engage in a 'but I don't spam' related response, I'm referring to any post you make which has no clear intent, including quoting useless comments by me in technical discussion threads just to bolster your post count
  4. To be honest the main issue I have with AI is that it offers nothing which can't be sourced for free by coming on here or another Airsoft community website. I'm a tightarse when it comes to spending (but then what do you expect, on a teaching salary...), so unless someone can give me clear advantages in putting down the sort of money the AI publishers want for an issue, I'm not going to even consider it. Whilst there is a strong issue with being able to target the right audience, I think AI's main problem is that it doesn't know what it whats its target audience to be. AI seem to operate
  5. We can fix it. We have the the technology. We can make it stronger, better... Well, we can fix it anyway. As soon as Greebo wakes up.
  6. Now all you need's a motion detector. I must admit, I have always fancied one of these myself. I just would need to source the whole USCM outfit to go with it...
  7. While we're at it, how about coding a feature into the PM system that wipes my *albartroth* for me?

  9. Can't really compete with that. Although mine will be more skirmishable (hopefully!)
  10. Ew, no. GNG. A bargain at eighty-five squid.
  11. Well, my new one is not quite so glamourous, but I seem to be carrying around wherever I go, so I must like it... Side View Cylinder View As you can see, I went for a different choice than expected. Hoping to use my new chrono on it tomorrow, to see how it fares on propane!
  12. Sorry, just noticed you'd responded. The barrel's actually a 590mm PSG-1 inner barrel (rather than the 605mm - barrels that have to be hidden by the flash hider just look wrong to me). No idea why I wrote 395 previously. I can only assume it was a typo, as I've tinkered around with the internals so much I know what I've put in it off by heart. The cylinder's stock at present. I'm awaiting delivery of a bore-up cylinder and a m100 to resolve the suction issue and put it towards 328ish. Because the m100 will probably make it border line when combined with that cylinder, I've also purchased
  13. I think that the one week period is somewhat short, in my opinion. From experience of selling AK parts, there can be a lull for a few weeks, followed by someone suddenly mailing and wanting the lot. That wouldn't have had a chance to happen if the one week rule was in effect. I also suspect the one week thing would simply result in a lot of sellers re-listing their items so as to continue having the sales open. Shao's seems the best solution for the moment - it just requires the co-operation of everyone involved .
  14. I was thinking the same thing. Maybe you have to ask about how to become a Mod in order to become one? (Watches as a hoarde of newbies all bombard R22 with pms)
  15. Uhuh Drake, I purchased the RPK as a full steel conversion kit, completed versions of which are still on sale at UN Company. Unfortunately I don't think there are many RPK kits left at the moment - it took me a great deal of hunting to finally obtain mine from Boomarms, and that was the last one they apparrently had, which involved pulling some strings with their friends in Thailand... Because the receiver is steel (look at the 'weathered' edges of the receiver at the bottom of the rifle in the photo), the weight of the stock / battery isn't an issue. If you decide to make a RPK yourself
  16. Cheers. Nice to know some people appreciate all my heartache at least... *Runs away to cry* Need to get the flash hider from Trapper and some 74-type mags now. And then a modern style sling. And then an AK104...
  17. Your opinion mate. If you like shiny new looking rifles then you are of course welcome to do so, but less of the insulting the pride and joys of other individuals who prefer their rifles to look like the fielded article. You might make me cry or something!
  18. Well, after AG05 I realised I needed to repair the wooden lower foregrip, which had been inexplicably chipped on the Friday night of the event. Whilst preparing to do so, I noticed that more of the layer of wood which had already been stripped was starting to splinter away, so I got out the superglue... And disaster struck. The tube exploded - presumably from the heat of the day - all over the wooden foregrip pieces. It wasn't pretty, and I knew I couldn't leave it like that. So I sanded down both and restained it... ...With a stain that turned out to not match the original.
  19. Crikey. I appreciate the gesture, but I don't think I'm on enough to fully abuse any such responsibility. I'm too busy abusing my powers as an official Arnies IRC operator to be doing the same on here, even if the moderators did think I was capable of doing so (and I'm sure they've got more sense). Thanks for the vote of confidence in my moderation of the Arnies IRC server anyway - it's appreciated. However I'm sure there's loads of other responsible and far more mature regulars who'd do a better job of it than I could.
  20. Not a clan mate, just a bunch of IRC regulars who play BF2 together quite often (for which TS is far better than the naff in game comms). Hadn't really thought this far ahead to be honest - we've been used to abusing Ubar's TS servers until recently. Will let you know once we know more.
  21. Very good idea. We've been after one to abuse for BF2 games - I mean for legitimate purposes - for quite a while. I doubt I'll use it all the time though. IRC is the place for casual chat whilst working / browsing / etc, imo.
  22. Brilliant. Normal service has been resumed. Come one come all, back to the old server.
  23. Could I request a follow-up review of YAM-3 Strategic Deployment Instant Ramen Noodles? I hear they're all the rage in the Japanese Defence forces...
  24. Agreed. I don't think there's any issue as such with traders using the services, although I think that they should make it crystal clear to any buy who they're dealing with, and exactly why they're using a harder to regulate method of trading, rather than the more common (and arguably more secure) e-commerce channels.
  25. And to think I cheered upon seeing that computer explode... Unfortunately I'm not sure why the server is down. I can only assume that the kind soul who provides the ArniesAirsoft irc server (whose name shall not be mentioned to avoid him returning home to a folder full of private messages all demanding to know what's going on) is currently on holiday without access to a computer, and that normal service will be resumed once he returns. As Cazboab has stated, he has kindly implemented a temporary #airsoft channel on irc.darkmyst.org, so if you are suffering withdrawal symptoms, simp
