    King Arms makes a pretty sweet 7" LaRue rail. Check it out on RWA or WGC Shop.

     

    True, KA is GTG. Be careful which replica LaRue rail you get, the older generic ones' rails are out of spec, ie. hard to fit picatinny (20mm) mounted accesories on it and they don't stay in place very well. The newer versions are ok.

    You are going to need some really thin wiring (like the wiring in a Classic Army crane stock), and you are going to need to use an 1100mah lipo battery (usually about 105-120mm long) like the one offered by King Arms. That is really the only way you will fit it in the tube of the UBR.

    I was in the same kind of predicament as I'm deciding on a stock update for a recon rifle, was looking at either the UBR or ACS but might go with the ACS because I'm not liking the UBR latch to adjust the stocks' length of pull. I may need to rewire to the front as I don't want to use Li-Po's. Somebody make a UBR/ACS stock that can take Ni-mh batteries in them or Crane stock wired ones! Lol.

    I was thinking about doing up a mich 2001 replica that cost 50 bucks or so, but then i came accross these, they seem pretty sweet and the price seems okay, what do y'all think?

    nvm, this is just a stripped cvc tanker helmet w/ some velcro and ballistic pads added on the inside. nice i guess.

    but you can apparently find em for 25 surplus w/ the comms suite intact....

    i didnt have any surefire batts before i sent these home so i cant tell you how bright they are, the trades were covered with black permament marker but it comes off easy. the bodies are waaaaaay to shiny but im painting them anyways i got both of them from www.px-airsoft.com they have great service and quick shipping.

    HiSpeed I will have SF/SEALs Kits based off of my Desert Digi, give me a week or so to get pics. Its not the best b/c my head is huge and cant get a helmet that fits. I might go for a MICH 2001 Repo.

     

    Nice, finally. You can also use one of those tactical caps also. Maybe you can put on some SF-ish gear on your desert digi and post in here too, like EPC, etc. That would be cool.

    @ Ko5ma: the barrel length looks fine now, isn't that 14.5"? You want a 16" or 18" on that or something? EBB has a replica LaRueTac low-profile gas block if you want to match your LT rail there.

    Lol! Sorry guise-I know you're all probably about to burn me at the stake for all this Block 2 mumbo-jumbo. Just trying to help some fellow researchers out with those.

     

    @ Medic 23: As posted, its a replica Knights Armament front flip sight. DD has it on their MK 18 RIS II pic on their website and I've seen it on a few RS SOF pics. I painted it tan; dusted with Tamiya aircraft spray tan and DE to get it that color. Knights/distributors has a few of those for sale-hard to get. The edges are FDE but the center part that flips up is dark-grayish. The rear is a replica Matech 0-600M sight by King Arms, painted it tan too. They went with those to upgrade the SOPMOD M4 rear sights, same as standard issued M4's nowadays. [i've seen pics of the MK 18 (M4 CQBR B2) with a Troy front flip up sight and even the old Knights 0-300M rear sight, I guess its operator preference, but I've seen the Knights front flip-ups on a lot of pics]

    EDIT:

    oh and has anyone got any feedback on sizings of the PCU level 5/level 4, for example did anyone find the jacket was sixed as a large but felt a bit snug or bigger than expected etc. cheers

     

    Durr-I must be getting old, to correct my earlier post as others have commented, PCU L4/5 jacket with DCU pants reference pic were US Navy SEAL's, sorry. Here's another option also: Peckam ECWCS Gen 3 jacket on top of ACU pants. You can get them new for a good price on eGey. As for digital desert/woodland, aka AOR1/2-I only have a few pics of US Navy SEAL AOR1 gear by Crye Precision-BDU, combat shirt and but no woodland yet. As for US SF, I haven't seen any pics of them with AOR1/2 yet, just with ACU lately. I hope we see some training pics or actual op pics, I guess its too new in their gear pipeline. But we just have to wait, I remember ranting about their MK18's (M4 CQBR Block 2-i still do) before, and now we have pics of it...

    obviously tri-colour and acu are the ways forward for special forces loadouts BUT could one go for a PCU level 5 jacket in acu or grey or perhaps a LEVEL 4 windshirt in grey as an top and say tri-colour bottoms??

    The way forward? I'd recommend an AOR1/2 set-up; USMC desert and woodland MARPAT would be easier to get. I'd really like to see a digital desert/woodland set-up in here or the SEAL threads. Everyone has incredible gear and set-ups, but I've mostly seen M81 woodland, DCU, ACU or Multicam. I've yet to see digital BDU's for a more modern SOF/USSOCOM set-up, although the aforementioned patterns are still used . I'm still putting something together. As for a PCU L5 jacket/L4 windshirt with DCU (tri-color desert), go for it. Its been done-I've pics of that set-up.

    Pic request: A direct side veiw of a DD Mk18 RIS in FDE. I need a side pic of the rail for some photoshopping. I spent waaaaaaaaaaaay to much time on Google trying to find a suitable picture so that is why it's come to this.

    So what barrel length are you thinking about using with the DD MK 18 RIS II rail? 11.5", 12", 14.5"? I'm still trying to get a DD M4 RIS II for my 14.5" M4. The MK18 (M4 CQBR B2) is done.

    What are you asking? There ARE replicas I am pretty sure. Also those are for rhino arms arnt they?

     

    Hi-is this to me? I meant an ok, low priced ANVIS mount for a MICH helmet with the dummy wire and rear battery pack. Also a replica ANVIS-6/9. And all readily available at an online airsoft store.
