  1. Unless Airsplat has restocked, they have neither tan nor black mags (I initially asked for tan mags, as I decided to go with the tan G5). i ended up ordering some tan mags from Evike and they showed up today. Even though I ordered my G5 a few days before (and was told it had shipped before I placed my Evike order). And the Airsplat order still hasn't gone anywhere with it sitting on "Order Processed: Ready for UPS" since the 26th
  2. Just as a heads up to anyone who might be tempted. I gave in to the Airsplat/G5 temptation and ordered a few days ago, and they only shipped me 1 of the 3 spare magazines I ordered (They changed the order without telling me). After talking to them on the phone, they said that they were out of stock on the spare mags, and expected them in about 6 weeks.
  3. Was watching "Ghost Shark" on the Syfy channel. One of the characters was wielding an M3 shotgun. One of the short pistol grip ones. With the orange plastic ring around the muzzle still attached.
  4. I actually regularly skirmish in mirrored aviators. Found some that are ANSI rated (and thoroughly tested by me). With a bit of bending, you can eliminate any gaps around your eyes, so that they form full seal (they have a foam gasket thing around the edge). Couple that with a glasses lanyard thing (whatever those are called) to secure it to your head, and they work quite well with no danger of coming off or letting a BB through.
  5. I used this picture as the inspiration: http://thomasroche.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Clyde-Barrow-M1918-Browning-Automatic-Rifle-from-IMFDB-dot-org.jpg But then decided to go my own way with it a little bit. I roughly cut the barrel at its current length with the intention of chopping it even shorter (or cleaning up my cut, which would by definition shorten it). But my first cut ended up being pretty clean, so I just cleaned it up and left it as is. This took about an afternoon of my friend and I messing about with the gun. That included learning how to disassemble it (Echo1 w
  6. Something like that? (Excuse the cell phone picture)
  7. Interesting. I got the Echo1 version, and it arrived with the carry handle and bipod attached to the gun, while it looks like yours came separate.
  8. The 7.62 shingles don't work very well for SVD mags (in my case the AEG mags) due to the protruding bits that the mag uses to lock into the body. They get hung up on the pouch easily, as the pouch is a bit too tight for SVD mags. I got a couple of SVD mag pouches from a place called Kalinka Optics here in the US, but I just checked their website, and they don't have them listed anymore.
  9. They seem to be pretty secure. I did, however, tie some knots in the shock cord to tighten it up. They seem to adequately hold both AK and AR mags (all I've tried them with). The AK mags were a bit of a pain due to the less rigid nature of the plastic sides (inserting the mags upside down), but still work.
  10. I got one to try. The shock cord/elastic is a lot weaker than the HSGI version. I'll probably be getting some stiffer shock cord and replace it. In addition the plastic is a lot nicer on the real ones, and just some thin plastic in the EBAirsoft version Long story short, the EBAirsoft version is passable, but I'm glad I have my real ones.
  11. I mounted one of those on a detonics, but it required modification. But nothing a little filing couldn't solve.
  12. A quick question: How easy is it to accidentally release the magazine by touching the mag release? On the KSC I had a few years ago, the mag release spring was so weak, it hardly took any pressure to drop the magazine (quite annoyingly). Thanks.
  13. Evike's page has a picture of it mounted: http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?products_id=29923 Looks to replace the rear sight of a full-size AK.
  14. There's a slight gap at the base of the selector, between the HERA kit and the slide, and you can use any sort of object with a hook on it to manipulate the selector. I found that an allen wrench works perfectly. Not ideal, but it does allow you to change fire modes. However, I'm still thinking about some way of mounting a selector mechanism to the HERA kit. I've got a few ideas, but nothing concrete yet.
  15. Friction. The 1" PVC just slips right over, and is tight enough to stay. I'll probably work on some retention system (screws or something), but I'm fine with it for now.
  16. TM G18C with the G-SPEC barrel. Painted and finished PVC pipe on the front. I'm very happy with how this turned out. The G-SPEC barrel runs just a millimeter or so shy of the end of the silencer. I'll have some other pictures in a week or so once the paint fully cures. Also, I've drilled through the right side of the body to allow me to use the sling on the right (I'm left handed). Works pretty well, and was super easy (the threaded insert runs all the way throughout the body, with only a thin shell on either side). Thus far, I'm very happy with how this is turning out. Just need to
  17. I've just found that regular 1" PVC pipe will fit snugly on the cylindrical muzzle piece. Should be perfect for the basis for the mock suppressor. A 6.5 to 7 inch piece should be enough to cover up a GSPEC barrel. Will add pictures of mine when its more than just a 2 foot long PVC pipe sticking off the end of my HERA kit.

    $1K club.

Zeke did make 10" metal barrels. Pretty hard to find these days, but they do pop up occasionally. (I've got 2)
  19. The Real Steal is called the Detonics Combat Master. Made by Detonics.
  20. To echo what has already been said: The finish is quite tough. I tried to take a screw driver to it and scratch it, but was unsuccessful. (Granted, I wasn't trying super hard, but I did put some pressure into it. Restated: I used enough pressure to scratch paint, but not enough to scratch metal)
  21. My collection. (Minus 2)
  22. Where are these in stock?
  23. My collection of TMs: Apologies for the poor photography.

    AGM M4 GBB

Apologies if I missed it when I read the thread but I've got a question: What threading is the flashhider?
  25. Thanks FatHammer. Any ideas on FPS (approximate) with the 2 gasses? And how many shots of gas does each shell hold? And does the "not firing on first shot" thing happen all the time, or just every so often? Thanks again for the review.
