    Could you describe the sound? If its a whirry whine whenever the motors moving it could be incorrect adjustment of the motor relative to the gears?

     

    Ive got to say mines going strong with the piston spacer, its been used heavily since a couple of months after the R85 came out! :D

    Mine's till running after many thousands of rounds with the airsoftworld spacer!

     

    Just installed Guarder (m4 style plastic) hop unit, madbull blue hop rubber and madbull 509mm tightbore and the accuracy and range is now very very good! :)

    The CQB does seem to come with normal grip sometimes for SF so I'll stick with that for now, likewise a normal front sight is OK because theres no grenade launcher mount or long barrel to need a better grip on... So that simplifies the project!

     

    Crazy masterkey there looks in the way though, is it Ok to carry?

     

    Love the shrike as it looks in that pic (even though I usually don't like armalites with boxmags.)

    It does look different, but to be honest on all the deimaco pics I've seen it's got the flat back etc of a normal grip...

    Do the UK imports differ or is it only on certain versions or something? Or do I need MY glasses? Might be (another) thing to put on the list for a C8CQB?

    I was thinking the bag on the stock would hold my battery, also it'd already be rear wired as I'd start with a CQBR... (to make the CQB)

    Not sure where I'll put the wiring though...

    Otherwise it might have to be a stock tube job.

     

     

    Such a argument over one part, surely the owner should know what he put on it...

    ANYWAY

    Used mine at Ground Zero Weekender and it functioned really really well! Took other guns because I expected it to suck but I ended up using it for EVERY game! Had installed a new guarder hopup bucking, one was designed for a SP130, but it worked fine on my stock fps l85, just harder to set the hopup initially.

     

    My L85 now has the airsoftworld/scotland upgrades and it worked well so I'd recommend it- before that it broke the stock piston in a few games.

     

    Range was good. I was still using the original hopup unit (because the guarder needed the bar on the side which clips on to the body is too long and I didn't have a file or whatever) but it was OK. Accuracy: I may install a tightbore still, as shots tended to spread out.

    Bizzarely the hopup and functioning changed: it seemed to me that when recoil was enabled the single shot worked better.

     

    Often with it disabled if I pull the trigger lightly or sometimes even when doing a full trigger pull the gears will wind back but the shot Won't Fire, but then on the next trigger pull it fired twice. Strange...

    With the recoil enabled this didn't happen. :?

     

    So hooray, it worked well but for the occasional strange semi not firing for a shot then firing twice...

    If anyone has any idea what's going on there it could be helpful!

     

     

    BTW I also found my L85 is firing down at 260 (but with .23g BBs). Stock cylinder but AW piston, dunno if they put in a new piston head too.

     

    Lastly, the 5:2 configuration battery fits in my L85 as well or better than the 6:1 from AW. -Put in in this config with lines being batteries, barrel end being the far end: ||||| =

    Never had or heard of that problem! Had it once on my ICS MP5 when the trigger block inside the mechbox was too tight and caught the contacts together and didn't let go, I'd have a look there if you understood any of what I just said... or send back and get them to do it!

    How far is it relatively easy to modify an M4 to an L119a1 though? The barrel can be easily changed but the carry handle and foresight are different (IIRC!!!) and markings etc, and as far as I know there aren't replicas of those out, so I'd end up with an M4 with rails, new barrel, maybe rail under foresight... is that heresy?

     

    How on earth are you "knowing" on some of those pics who's UKSF? Some you can barely see. Or maybe thats an "f I told you Id have to kill you" :P

     

    Didnt find a pic of this, would it ever happen for UKSF to wear normal kit ie. dessie DPM, PLCE etc and then use an L119a1? Or would the only instance of using that kit be to be identical to regular forces hence would not use one...

     

    (Correct I'm not an expert, please don't just reply "fool" or something... :P )

     

    EDIT: not to stop this being a picture thread or anything, feel free to delete this post if you're worried!

    I guess the avatar could count although its not exactly any attempt at any impersonation and yes I know, trigger finger is a bit close and all that ( I was, erm, blindfiring an enemy who surprise attacked from above or something...)

    Since my fix to the new piston-thing Airsoft world has its performed flawlessly bar firing every other trigger press on semi a while back for a few hundred shots, now fixed itself, and has massacred me plenty of enemies. Looks the part, and cheap too!

     

    My pre-modded one stripped the piston. Since jsut that fix (they might have checked the contacts) and a new hopup packing its been good.

    Skirmished my ARMY R85 with the AW spacer, works v. well except

    1) when not using blowback (random I know) on semi it winds on the first shot and fires twice on the second trigger pull... So I need to follow the link too I guess...

    2) Randomly trigger occasionally becomes really hard to pull, switching fire mode stops it...
