my family went last year, a guard in the airport pulled a pistol on my 5 year old brother.

During my visit to Cairo, we learned the Egyptian president was flying to Sharm El Sheik for a conference. When we got to the airport, it took three hours to check in! Hundreds of armed guards, QRT's, desert patrols, helicopter flyovers, etc.
