  1. I don't even recognise the two towards the back - the sub-calibre Kalashnikov-looking one and the Type 97b-looking one. What're those? Are there build logs?

the 9mm AK jobby is a PP19-01 (pretty much a PP19 bizon using stick mags) and the bullpup thing at the back is from ghost in the shell, cant remember what its called.

  2. I know; I have a Bullpup M14 monster too...

I want MAGPUL, because I don't like so many rails... I already have a CTR stock too.

That will be the base gun... naturally wood parts will be able to replant...

    how about something like this?

they're quite minimalistic for tacticool handguards IMO.

  3. I always laugh to tears with adadqgg (even the nickname is annoying) and the reactions his comments provoque.

The vast majority of the forum ends up doing exactly what they accuse him of doing, let his comment be man, he is entitled to give his opinion about any subject as long as he's respectful.

i know what you mean, but the whole "HURRR MOTHERLAND!!!1one1 my eyes they bleed!!" thing gets very tedious, very quickly.

the whole thing essentially boils down to this:

    STOP-LIKING-what-i-dont-LIKE.jpg

  4. I am not saying anyone is vastly inferior as person for owning weird AK.

I am just saying it does not make sense to me to get all accesories made for AR15(and probably cost more than base gun) and put them onto AK. I am pretty sure even FSB do not go full-magpull.

jesus christ man! just shut up and accept that not everyone likes the same thing you do. just let them get on with it, meanwhile you can be happy knowing that your AK is glorious and pure

  5. If you are talking about that guy with user name misha on R-A.

He does not frequent R-A much anymore and he sold most, if not all, his Russian stuff; now he is doing battlefield journalist impression.

I still remember one night when he went on a solo recon mission then later that night came back to help us against capitalist night attack...then walked off with two prisoners. :D

When you talk to him IRL, even though at that Op:EastWind(V) his character is a very-angry praporshik of some sort, he is a nice person.

I say that after living in Soviet camp for nine days even after he called my section(and other sections) up at 11p.m. for battle-readiness inspection WHILE IT WAS RAINING.

back when i frequented RA he was misha michailovich, same guy but i think he's shortened his username since.

i'm sure he's lovely in person, but the fact is he was a complete *rickroll* online. i have no time for grown men who spend their time bullying people on forums.

  6. Please don't hate on Red-Alliance! We're trying to fix the image and be more open.

i wouldn't call it 'hating on', that implies that the big mean mainstream site is picking on the little niche site for being different. this could not be further from the truth.

having spent a lot of time on RA a few years back i can honestly say it's got the largest concentration of stuck up, elitist twats outside of 4chan. i'm not slating the lot of you, i think it's good that you're trying to change the site's image, but the collection of fanatical, keyboard warrior manchildren (mischa michailovich comes to mind) the site has amassed has done an awful lot of damage to it's reputation.

  7. superVepr, don't quote pics. just replace them with <snip> ;)

Airsoft receivers are 1-3mm too wide for a Real Steel kobra, so your sight will be offset. Real Sword receivers are Real Steel spec, so you can mount a Real Steel Kobra on them

it's not too bad if the pic was on a previous page. it's when the next post is the same picture quoted that it gets annoying.

  8. I really wish AK receivers without side rails were easy to aquire. It frustrates me to think about how easy it is for Dboys to not drill those horrible holes in the receiver...

I just want my AKS-74UN to look good, and that involves removing that "N" from it :(

Can we sign a petition or something like that?

Ranting aside, I will soon post a picture of my AK, so that I too actually contribute.

    1. remove siderail

    2. apply filler and paint

    3.???????

    4. profit!

  9. It's almost as if the insurance companies and the government don't want us to drive or something *puts on tin foil hat*

there's little to no sense in insurance. one of my mates bought an imported MR2 GTS turbo with all the usual mods (stainless exhaust, de-cat, HKS BOV, quaife LSD, apexi cone filter, tein coilovers) running 320 BHP and insured it fully comp for £1100. he was 21 at the time, think he had 3 years NCB, worked in the motor trade which probably helped but that's still blooody impressive.

    that was via elephant too.

  10. It seems everyone can get insured on rally monsters apart from me. My old boss got an Evo 8 FQ300 when I got my Civic and I checked the insurance on that and the cheapest was £2500, I'm 28 with 7 years ncb as well.

Still better than one of the lads I work with. He's just passed his test and got a quote on the Evo for nearly £9k.

insurance for new drivers is impossible. my cousin's 18 and still getting quotes of £3K+ for an 800cc matiz,1L 3cyl vauxhall agila etc. no matter how underpowered and undesirable the car is he just can't get below 3 grand. the thing i dont understand is that he doesnt live in a rough area either, i'd have thought my village would be worse for insurance what with the massive pikey population and all.

  11. Have you tried some of the specialist companies like Adrian flux? When I got mine last year the cheapest quote I could get from the big name insurers and compare sites was £1200. With the companies I've seen on various Civic forums I've had quotes as low as £700. Hopefully I'll still get quotes around that figure when my insurance is up for renewal.

Cheapest I can get at the moment it £5000, I pay £2400 for my Civic Sport :'(

oh life is good living in the sticks :D

1.8 astra SRI, mods declared, cost me about £700 last year. out of interest i put in my details (birthday moved forward a few months to make me 21) for a newage impreza STI and got a quote for just over a grand :D

so just over £1K for a 21 year old to insure a 300bhp, rally bred monster with a reputation for being driven by hooligans... how good is that!?

edit: mainstream insurers too, admiral were the cheapest IIRC, followed by elephant (who i'm currently insured with)

  12. rota grid/drift looks good on just about anything. my ideal next car is a white blobeye impreza STI with bronze drifts.

thought about splitting the lights open and doing all the chrome bits black? the bright silver lights look a wee bit odd with the overall dark colour scheme.

  13. taht's awesome man, I belive there's a fairly good guide top painting your 'turd brown' plastic to look like bakelite around here as well. What a steal.

aye, with quite a lot of experimenting with red varnish and various shades of orange, red and yellow inks i managed to get a very good likeness using MAG midcaps. from a distance you couldnt tell some of them apart from my RS mags.

  14. This.

Why people go to such length to install extra metal onto the front/top of the rifle and then install optics for extra weight is beyond comprehension.

When they could simply use a siderail-mounted optics or even a adaptor while leaving the 20mm rail on top of the handguard for their 'necessary' PEQ boxes, thus leaving the sides of the handguard for even more flash light/l4z0r combo and finaly get another flashlight/vertical grip combo on the bottom rail... While they are at it, they can also paint some red tigerstripe onto the rifle(but not the accesories, since those will be vastly more expensive than the rifle itself).

once upon a time i thought like you

i still have a hatred for the ultimAK + EOtech combo, if only because it looks ridiculous and doesnt fit with the lines of the gun. but come on, the siderail isn't the lightest, most balanced or even best looking optic mounting system. what's wrong with the likes of the larue irondot? it's far simpler, lighter, more balanced, more out of the way and better looking than side mounted optics.

it's an AK, a mass produced weapon of war. it's not a rare classic, putting a more modern optics solution on an AK is not like putting a massive rear wing on an aston DB5.
