  1. mismatched wood isnt exactly uncommon. you could always do the bolt yourself, create the step at the back with a hacksaw and file and then paint it black
  2. either as skarclaw said, or they're civvie models. it'd be more realistic to just buy plum handguards if you want the polymer look.
  3. yeah, and we answered 'no' grad-2
  4. no, cyma are using realsword construction. basicly the same as VFC but the barrel is screwed at the back instead of inned. real sword are the only other company using this design. rather than un-pinning everything from the barrel why not just unpin the front sight and chop it?
  5. here's a couple of pics all i'm saying is hat cyma's propietry pinned and screwed buill will mean that afermarket barrels probably wont fit. filling a dimple with body filler and putting the reinforcments on isnt much effort at all. i suppose you could try cutting the barrel down yourself and re-pinning the front sight, that might be easier.
  6. i'm aware of the number of pakistani customs using RPK recievers for their obvious benefits. but this is airsoft and overheating isnt a problem youd do better to just an AKM, cut 2 small aluminium/steel rectangles, stick them on the reciever and fill the dimple then just slap RPK furniture on it. it seems pointless butchering an RPK to end up with what is essentially an AKM with a few more bits on it when it would be easier to just add those little reinforcing rectangles yourself. wrong stock. proper RPKSs look awesome though.
  7. errm, if you want to stick an AK length barrel on an RPK why not, you know, just buy an AK? RPKs are essentially AKs with longer barrels.
  8. no, since (even though it's in no way an SVD replica) the SVD doesnt use AK mags. so frankly, where's the point? also, why not, you know, buy your own mags
  9. haha, no i didnt Kalash is the obvious choice for externals and i havent heard of many problems with the internals (yours being in the minority, marlowe). so i'd say buy the kalash and IF it breaks, buy a cyma gearbox.
  10. thats just an ordinary stock thats been cut short i've always understood a clubfoot stock as being like an RPK stock (or the fugly AR15 tacticrap stock)
  11. i think you misunderstood me, i didnt say they were better than cyma i meant the STEEL versions have superior internals to the standard models (with pladtic bushings). danHS got the steel spec spot on IIRC
  12. i know about cyma internals, but arent the steel Dboys meant to be a high a standard? either way, Dboys will be better externally, if you're worried about the internals buy a spare cyma GB from WGC or somewhere.
  13. kalash AKMS if you want steel. the cyma guns are nice, but externally they dont match up to kalash. plus the internals on the steel kalash guns seem to be of a higher standard.
  14. the makarov is a .177 umarex air pistol and the tokarev looks like that chinese springer to me
  15. not true. there are photos of GP25s being used with the AKMS. the stock won't lock into place, but it's still more compact than either a full stock or having the stock extended.
  16. perhaps, but it would make an already impractical gun utterly unskirmishable.
  17. i think he was trying to say that he wasnt referring to the AKMSU and that there ARE 7.62 civvie AKSUs
  18. thats not a romy AK just a russian AKS74 with a donkey dong foregrip.
  19. the Dboys AIMS int en out yet besides, its not hard to fix. just file down the mag catch a bit.
  20. ahhh, i didnt notice that at first. there are T56 varients chambered for 5.45 anyway
  21. yeah, but the gas block looks COMPLETELY different. why not actually buy an AKM? the new cyma model with the laminated wood is a good buy, and it's cheap.
  22. certianly a vast improvement on the solid wood that we were used to seeing from china until recently.
  23. pffft, glue is for wimps! gaffer tape FTW! i've had a hole in my tail light 'temporarily' fixed with gaffer tape for about 4 months now... comeo think of it i really should buy a new one
  24. escort have... and converted it back to external. essentially G&P poorly copied escort's GBB system and escort charged the earth to fix all the bugs and change it to a more consistant gas source. no it's not, many of the manufacturing processes used are similar/identical though and i seem to recall some parts are made in RS factories although i cant confirm that. i also highly doubt the G&P is a converted RS, otherwise it wouldnt be available in the UK (wolf armouries had one a while back) and it's just plain unlikely.
  25. because he likes a bit of extra realism, like GRIM? an AIMS stock shouldnt set him back much anyway you shouldnt have any serious trouble fitting a RS stock, might need a bit of modding but i doubt anything major. GRIM would be the best person to ask (although his is an inok)
