  1. Naturally, that would have been my first choice, but my usual suppliers all seemed to have gone to ground, so I started thinking about some alternatives. The AUG foregrip (airsoft version) wasn't ever the sturdiest bit of kit on the market, and like I said: folded down, that AK "tacticool" grip makes for a perfectly servicable rest. The grip itself is the last thing I'd ever put on an AK (looks totally wrong for a weapon that came from the Soviet school of austere functionality) but - to me - it's curves sort of compliment the aesthetic of the AUG. The clamp isn't the prettiest thing around
  2. I know for a fact that option no. 2 can fit a vert grip. I irretrievably knackered my standard foregrip a couple of weeks ago, and my parcel of possible replacements arrived from eHobbyasia today. I had toyed with your option no. 1 ($22 or so at eHobby) but wanted to check the look first, so I opted for this at $3.99 before I made a firm decision - the top part is your option no.2. Results below: Still getting used to the foregrip sitting a little forward from where I'm used to it being, but in it's unopened position it makes for a bloody comfortable shooter's rest. Barrel clamp sit
  3. Couldn't agree more. Used as I am to brand new (and therefore brand-new looking) AEG purchases, when I opened the box on this one I thought "merde, this looks a right state, wish I'd plumped for the Cyma and saved myself a few quid now." After a couple of hours working through snorkel's tips, I'm in love with the bloody thing. It looks and feels like it ran off a Belarus production line and went straight to a Soviet unit in Afghanistan, got captured by the mujahaddin, somehow ended up involved in the opium trade, finally got seized in a raid by Kuwaiti police, who then offered it as a token
  4. Mucho Gracias, Terran. Further rummaging has yielded the metal piece, which was rolling around in the furthest recesses of the drawer, although the spring is FUBAR'd (that's easy enough to replace) - naturally, as soon as I put an order for the replacement nub, that'll turn up as well! I suppose whilst I'm browsing WGC I'll have to treat myself to something else to make the parcel worthwhile - it's a hard knock life, and no mistake . EDIT: MFIAP also have the whole assembly in stock for a very fair $5, but don't seem to ship outside the continental United States. Global economy my backs
  5. Apologies for what I guess you could call a "random insertion" but I have a fair-sized problem re: my AUG that I'm sure AUG users will appreciate, and only an AUG user will be likely to be of any help with. So I've come to the place where AUG devotees congregate. I've kept my AUG stored away for a few months now (disgraceful, I know), broken down into it's three parts. The upper receiver was (I assumed) safe and sound in a drawer, although I did have to move it a couple of months ago to make space for babygro's (ahh, sweet, Daddy has to re-store his guns to make way for new baby clothes).
  6. My new JG Steyr AUG "Emulational High-Powered Nicety" in full-on La Femme Nikita mode. No idea why JG opted for Both Elephant-style packaging this time around, but the rest of the gun is pure JG - full metal barrel assembly and upper receiver. I know the silencer attachment's OTT to say the very least, but having the feature of being able to break the rifle down in just five seconds just got me in a "Hollywood Hitman" kind of mood. Cheers for the info on that, DarkLite. On the very plus side, though, with the AUG's gearbox buried somewhere in the depths of the rifle's stock, wi
