  1. Use sheet metal as a shim. Pretty much self centering and less messy than epoxying though you could epoxy.
  2. Yup. Short is steel, long is aluminum. If you want a steel long barrel you'll need to custom graft the front half of an AEG barrel on the stock WE barrel.
  3. A bushing comp? They make those for TM spec pistols too.
  4. WE THOMPSON!!!

Its not WE its WETTI who are NOT WE.

  5. Calm yo tits. It's only a TM springer. But I think they've improved the finish of all the recent HG models. This thing I'll be trying to shoehorn gbb bits in like that one guy in YouTube.
  6. Appears the franken akm/74 has a meaty recoil buffer installed. To alleviate stress on the rear trunnion/rivets?
  7. And my cyma 105 front sight crapped out, but hey... https://www.facebook.com/carlos.v.quevedo.1/videos/10156179597540744/
  8. I'm thinking more on the rivets themselves. Even on the Well being steel and a copy of WE the rivets can fail. With fewer rivets that's increased load per rivet left.
  9. Hmmm... just realized the stock trunnion is only held by 4 rivets vs WE's 6. This might be a critical point considering WE's recoil.
  10. Might have to do with FCG pin positioning. At least with the WE it's one whole self contained unit.
  11. Pictures of the modified bolt carrier would be great! If it's just the width that needs reduction the most I could sort that out with an angle grinder with a sanding disc pretty quick.
  12. Thanks! What was the hardest thing to do? What I'm figuring is if it's worth modifying just the receiver to fit WE internals rather than build a gun around a complete WE receiver but having to modify a lot of small things everywhere else.
  13. Has anyone here tried checking if AEG receivers can be used to assemble a rifle? I'm trawling through LCT and E&L photos and only now just realized how freakishly close they are by design down to the cutouts on the bolt guide rails.
  14. I'd be happy even with an FRN RDS upper. Would keep it nice and light too.
  15. The problem with that then is you'll need a bored through cylinder. How about a Denix? I'm sure their pot metal is strong enough to contain the pressure of a percussion cap but at the same time won't be able to hold a full charge. I've been chasing the idea for some time now but have no possible supply for anything by Denix. Even small handgun primers are way too powerful and red caps deliver all of 200fps.
