  1. I was able to disassemble the outer barrel from the slide, but I want to get the the inner barrel/hop chamber
  2. I just acquired a Kimber this week. I ordered from RSOV and was sorely disappointed to see that the foam insert was not in the box, nor was a manual or spare parts bag. Also, the first 2 inches of the slide were painted orange, which seemed a bit excessive(it was removable without too much trouble), and most of the inside of the gun was spattered with what looked like the same crappy grease that comes in ACM gearboxes. I haven't had a chance to test fire it yet, but I am pleased with the quality to price ratio (after cleaning the thing!). I have a question: what is the secret to removing
  3. if it sounds like where the hose goes into the gun, it is probably where the hose connects to the valve. It is a common problem with escort-based guns. Just tie the hose onto the barb with a little bit of light gauge wire.
  4. Just got back from the range. Full bottle of CO2, 120psi, about 80*F 60 feet 7 1/2 inch target. Airsoft Elite .25g and Matrix .25g The AEs were causing the gun to stall a lot. It was chopping almost every other bb. I switched to the Matrix bbs, and everything was fine again. Unfortunately, I think the hop might have a tear in it from one of the chopped bb fragments, because I was getting a lot of random fly-away bbs. I will tear the gun down later tonight. On semi, taking less than one second between shots, I shot 12 rounds. The result was all of the bbs landing in a
  5. I actually haven't adjusted the hop yet. I'm getting average range with .25s. I will take it out to do some accuracy/range testes Saturday morning and let you know.
  6. I played again, this time with the MAGs. They still aren't feeding 100%. I don't know if I need to take more off, or what. It seems like they are just a hair too tight, because when I put pressure on the mag (down, left, right, or back) then I can hear the bbs shoot up the feed tube. I must need to take off little more from the catch...
  7. Oh yeah, I was running at 120psi. Horse: I'm in Provo. I don't get to go to too many Saturday games because of work, but when I do, I usually play with TAC-4. gamefreak: The hop is adjusted via a 1.5mm set screw. It is on the top of the chamber. Take of the top cover and pull the bolt back. There is a little hole in the top of the bolt and in the gas tube that will allow you to adjust the hop. Make sure you do it in small incriments (like 1/8th turns), otherwise you may do too much at once and tear up the hop rubber. edit: I removed my orange with brake fulid. It took off some
  8. Thanks for the correction, happy.al. I thought that run of AKs had some brass internals. Ok, Field report: Unfortunately, the chrono at my local shop (Weaponblender) was buried under mounds of gear after the large 2-day event they hosted last weekend, so no chrono results. But... I am in love! The pure satisfaction of the recoil, sound and performance is amazing. I put about 1500 round through it today. I modded the mag catch to accept my MAG midcaps, but I think I still need to take of a hair more. There isn't a satisfying "click" yet. Also, the MAGs did not feed. BBs made it
  9. Now on to the good stuff!! Internals When you open up the top cover, you discover lots of bling underneath. Full stainless steel internals replace that silly gearbox The spring guide and retainer-thingy (I know, it’s all very technical) Spring guide removed This is the air-switch, connected to a 6mm tube coming out the bottom of the pistol grip. The bolt retracted. The bolt all the way forward. Notice the gas port of the bolt extends into the gas tube. There is a lot of steel moving back and forth on this thing… A couple differences from
  10. Daytonagun AKS-74 I’m not going to mention anything about the real steel history or about the box. If you really care, I’m sure it’s available in any of the other AK reviews here . I ordered the AK through Sparrow at OpForce Tactical Training solutions. (www.airsoftgasblowbacks.com). Sparrow and Justin (Daytonagun) teamed up to aid in distribution of these works of art to the US. You can order direct from the site or email Ian for specific information. I ordered back in April when these were first announced at a discounted pre-order price. The “MSRP” is $800 + S&H f
  11. I've used 40mm grenade pouches for my 2011 mags since they never fit in standard cloth pouches, and they work great. Maybe give those a try?
  12. romulus, chances are it's an SD slide or a completely custom-made slide. SD made the bulk of the aftermarket Magna slides.
  13. It does great. With .25s I get good, flat trajectory for ~100ft at least. It is very consistent, the opposite of the stock WA hop-ups. The sad part is there are a couple little bits inside that I know will need to be replaced soon, but no one carries magna parts anymore. I may just bite the bullet and get a TM to eventually replace it when it needs to be retired.
  14. "Old Faithful" WA 5" Xcelerator SD Slide Guarder stainless chamber and barrel Guarder stainless hammer Guarder upgraded recoil/hammer springs Guarder loading nozzle Sheriff LRB fiber-optic front sight lots of love! I've had her since 2003. She has been my #1 sidearm almost the whole time, and she is still getting me some good kills. I need to refinish her and do something with the grip. Sorry, the pics aren't the best quality
