  1. ok, lets move on with this triple post. i know you guys arent that interested in the gun, but im posting for posterity. so that if someone finds one of these rifles down the line with similar problems, they can have some info about it. no new pics yet, but i did find out why my front sight was crooked. turns out the whole outer barrel was canted. someone milled out the barrel key that interfaces with a peg in the receiver askew. so i widened out the barrel key a little bit that way i could turn the barrel a few degrees to the right, torqued down the barrel nut, and now my sights are straig
  2. well, i got the receiver brazed back together. it was pretty simple, like soldering really. i got some pics in the box: missing the rear sling mount and thing the plate that the butt plate gets screwed into: where the receiver was broken: newly brazed: cleaned up: and back together : it's strong too, i don't have any problems with how the gun feels now, except for the relatively light weight. the gun fits together solidly. im happy and am ready to move on to the other problems that this particular gun has. EDIT: if anyone is wondering, m
  3. Well, they havnt replied yet. I'm buying the brazing rods today. Regardless though, if they do reply and are prepared to sell me a receiver, I'll gladly buy one. Even if I do successfully braze mine together. The other thing I'm going to work on is to convert all the screws and small, hard to punch out, pins to easier to use fare. Something like pins held in with cotter pins in the back and I'm going to try replacing the screws up front holding on the handguard with pins or bands of some kind. Worse case I'll re thread the holes with helicoils. Then I'll have to take care of sourcing
  4. It doesn't look like S&T want to sell me parts, but I'll have to give them another week to reply to my emails before I can afford brazing rods. Anybody know the melting temperature of these receivers? It's got a higher aluminum content in it that other metal receivers. Similar to VFC aluminum. Anybody think it's worth trying to braze my lower receiver back together?
  5. Well, let me fix it up and you can buy it from me
  6. As I stand here cooking bacon like the red bloded American I am, I am reminiscing about the rifle I just got in yesterday and the time I've spend fondling it over the last few hours. tl,dr it's light, relatively poorly designed, and seemingly fragile. Definitely over priced. The AEG in question is the Smart&Team Howa Type 64. A Chinese based manufacturer making a Japanese niche market battle rifle. I'm not surprised on some of the disappointing design aspects being that they probably never got their hands on a real one. When you pick it up out of the box, it's pretty balanced
  7. I guessing that the MOSFET is there only because of market pressure or that the gun really can't handle high ROF out of the box to begin with and marui doesn't want people to try high powered batteries too easily.
  8. Darklite, what grip do you have on the last gun you posted? Howed they get the steeper grip angle on an AEG? EDIT: nvm, its the daytac grip right? I can see that they hold the motor similarly to VFC HKs.
  9. so you have 5 zeke bodied full size KWC based UZIs?
  10. It's decided, its HK53 time.
  11. If you ever need someone to hide your guns in case Greece comes knocking, give me a ring *wink**wink*
  12. Update 1: i cannot open the lamp assembly. the flickering bulb has now blown. these are standard 30w incandescent bulbs. too bad i cant buy more because my government banned them. but im going out anyway to try a new bulb as im not entirely sure that the lamp itself is bad, but the bulb may have been bad. all i have here is fluorescent bulbs, which wont work. Update 2: i tried a florescent bulb i had around to test the lamp and its working fine, so i went out to my local home depot and found a bulb very close to the bulbs that come with the unit. ill try it in another 5 minutes. updat
  13. My field has been using an evike chrono since we broke our Xcortech within the first week of operation. the Evike chrono worked ok for the fist couple months, but at this point im the only one who can get any reliable readings with it. so i have been asking for a new chrono for almost a year and a half. finally, i was given the task of finding a new chrono after our evike chrono finally stopped giving me readings all together (its second hand, so i dont know how old it actually is). after some research, i chose one of those classic Shooting Chronys. i use to think they cost about $250, i don
  14. I drew a picture. Have to wip out some white out to correct some lines and smudges, but I like the way it turned out. Going to transfer it to a canvas painting starting tomorrow. In full color (which is just blue really...).
  15. I'm thinking about it. Might as well just do a custom shortening job instead of relying on any existing design. The biggest issue though is driving out the pins holding the gas block and front sight block on. Iv tried that befor and it fells nigh impossible. Edit: ok, yeah. I've got a course of action for it. I know how I'm going to bang it out. Ill do some proper design work and budgeting for it tomorrow. But I'm not going to speak of it again until I actually start doing it. You guys know how flaky I am.
  16. quick question. I'm tempted to find a 2nd RS T562 and PDW it by shortening it to AK Beta length(cause 74u length isn't PDWy enough) Would that be much more complicated than just swapping the front set with one off of some 2nd hand AK74u? Like, more complicated than a bit of lathing and maybe milling?
  17. i apologize Cypher, my reply was aimed at Gisburn.
  18. You have to modify your followers into L shapes. I used .28g and .30g bbs (all the normal american brands) in MAG m4 mids (130rds & 190rds), elite force mids, and beta project AK mids for a while. Cutting the followers and keeping the mags and bbs clean is all I needed to do.

    I've completed my klobb
  20. Just for you I cut a bb in half and took a pic with my motorola razor m, a buget cellphone from a couple years ago. Your only issue though is that your phone can't take macros that close. maybe a few more centimeters away and the bb would have been clear.
  21. Great thanks for this. Will definately look at this 1887 when I am in the mood for another shotgun. Looking forward to the shell build guide.
  22. I don't know about that but KSC make short mags for the s7/ns3 mp9s. Kwa may have also had them available at one point.
  23. An american distributer for russian aegs called atacka tried to start importing the izmash aegs, but something might have fell through unfortunately.
