  1. Phew, Guys, please keep the discussion reasonably on-topic. I just had to go back and read some of SuperKingBigNuts'posts to find out what all the fuss was about and, frankly, it gave me a head-ache. If I have to deal with any more posts of the same quality I'll probably just put him out of my misery by suspending him until he learns how to spell properly and we don't want that, do we?
  2. Lovely pic's but I tend to be more interested in the practical side of things so I was kinda wondering how you operate that pressure switch when you're holding onto the AFG?
  3. Coincidentally, the flying pig makes a return... My JLS F2000 which I took to bits last christmas to make a few minor alterations to and I just got around to rebuilding it, along with a nice new OD paint job. I wanted to put a new flash-hider on it (which I haven't yet done) and one thing led to another and I ended up fitting an M16 outer barrel to it, just to give me a 14mm -ve thread on the muzzle. Chopped the receiver about a bit. Opened up the ejector port (and then glued a lump of aluminium plate in behind the opening) and carved up the front in order to make it a m
  4. Quick heads-up for people, before this thread really gets rolling... Please post your P90 and SCAR pic's in their specific threads rather than here. It makes it much easier if people looking for pic's of FAL's, F2000 and whatever else don't also have to wade through squillions of pictures of P90s and SCARs here when they already have their own threads. Thanks.
  5. Cos these guns are like a bad rash all over the FN picture thread I figure they can have a thread to themselves.

I'm pretty sure most people position their scope for optimal eye relief rather than to make the gun look cool.
  7. Just to add, it's not just that we're worried about deliberate scammers. We enacted the 100 post rule because we were getting heaps of people joining the forums and then offering fake rolex watches or dodgy Nike trainers for sale. It's not that we assume new members are scammers. The rule prevents all sorts of dodgy eBay cast-offs getting flogged here.
  8. I value my eyesight at about £3 for the Arco safety glasses I wear at work. It's not safety that's expensive. It's pose value. I'm really not sure what the point is but there's wrong when you can buy perfectly adequate eyepro for under a fiver and yet walting on the cheap can risk your eyesight.
  9. Are they? The last Guarder glasses I bought (and they were the last ones I bought, if you see what I mean) had a slip of paper in the bottom of the box saying "This is a novelty item only and should not be used as eye protection". So, given that it's entirely possible that you WILL receive multiple hits during a skirmish, I assume you'd never use your Oakleys for skirmishes? Never sure about Oakley stuff. Everybody (including Oakley) seems to claim the lenses are impact rated but, AFAIK, part of the rating system insists that any rated lense MUST actually be marked with the rating
  10. Just to add some random thoughts... Back when I used to lasertag we had issues like this. The problem there was that the games were "scripted" to suit one team and the other team were, basically, just "bit players" for the other side to take shots at. Sure, you'd be given objectives and specific tasks but you weren't actually supposed to win. You were supposed to fit in with the overall script. Quite often, as a result of playing a bit too competitively, the organisers would have to kill a bunch of us off with "chemical weapons" or a "minfield" or whatever else they could think of.
  11. What you've been is busted for having a duplicate account.
  12. Translation: "I don't think the issues you mentioned are as big a deal as you're suggesting. I think this because...." I dunno if all the cool kids on your regular forum think it's clever to simply belittle other peoples opinions but around here we prefer a less antagonistic approach AND it really helps if you can support your own opinion with facts rather than just sarcastic comments. We clear?
  13. Slightly bemused by new forums.

  14. I don't reckon Arnie needs to knock himself out making the boards look like the old ones. It's kinda nice having a "new look" IMO. A bit more styling in the headers and stuff would be nice but it all looks kinda fresh IMO.
  15. Indeed. Frankly, I'd be all for adopting ThaFlash's idea and not counting anything rail-mounted towards the cost. After all, who wants to see a $20 LPEG with a PVS14 bolted to it? Seriously, the idea of this thread (to me at least) is to show of super high quality builds. Not just showcase who can write the biggest cheques.
  16. Is he really all pixelated and blurry? Seriously, WHY do people take cr*ppy quality pictures at stonking resolutions??? I bet if that picture was taken at 800 x 600 resolution it would look ten times better. It'd still be terrible quality but at least it wouldn't be so obvious.
  17. I hardly think a gun qualifies if you need to take into account parts that you fitted then subsequently replaced again.
  18. TBH, I burned the front of mine with a blowlamp and then laquered it [/geek] but I don't really want to post pictures of that cos I'm not sure making a gun look realistic, like that, is totally wise idea. Maybe a bit OT but wouldn't the black ones suffer with the same problem too? In that case maybe the nickel ones would be better cos at least you can see how badly they need cleaning? Unless, of course, the black ones don't have the same problem.
  19. I felt the same. I bought a cheap KAC f/h from EBB and just stuck a 6mm bolt all the way through it, tightened a nut onto the back and then stuck it in a drill and attacked it with some 800 grit emery paper then cleaned the paint out of the recesses with a dremel with a wire brush attached. If there's no screw then obviously what I said doesn't apply. I was responding to what lambolurker was talking about.
  20. To address the chain of posts that led to this, if your f/h is held on by a grub screw then you definitely DO NOT want to simply removing using force with a wrench. At best you'll chew up the 14mm thread on the muzzle and, at worst, you'll bend or snap something. If somebody's damaged the head of the grub screw so it can't be removed you can try drilling it out but, frankly, it's likely that the grub screw will be the hardest metal anywhere on your gun. In that case I'd accept that the f/h is "sacrificial" and just attack the grub screw with a dremel cutting disk, cut several slots th
  21. Just to remind people that we prefer it if you actually POST reviews here rather than simply linking to reviews posted elsewhere. We try to be as lenient as possible but, let's face it, linking to a review on another airsoft forum is taking the mickey a bit. Obviously, reviews posted on Youtube are slightly different since Arnies has no video hosting facilities although it wouldn't kill you to embed the video rather than just post a link to it. Also, there's an "E" on the end of the word "Torque". It's right there on the side of the motor. It doesn't say much for the review when
  22. I vaguely recall mentioning this before... If Arnie gets the urge, it'd probably be best if the website page is changed so it simply redirects people to the forum FAQs about IRC rather than having the info shown on the actual website.
  23. I gotta say, I hate dragging this off topic so much. I don't want to make it sound like I think a lot of asians are either simpering women or chauvanistic men. I know there's a lot of younger asian families who're buying into the whole "western" thing purely in order to avoid having daughters who're raised in a subservient way. Bear in mind that this all stems from millenia of tradition that assumes women are "less useful" than men. If a couple had a female daughter they knew that someday the daughter would be married and eventually clear off to live with her husband and then da
