  1. 1) Yes. It is 8mm. Be warned, however, that the bearings do not have a flange so they're not like "normal" AEG bearings. The only reason to worry about the bearings is if you find your gun has a sticky bearing. Mine did. I replaced em for about £5 with bearings from an online engineering shop. 2) It's just a bog-standard DIN-spec microswitch. All the usual suspects (Maplin, RS, Farnell etc) sell them.Google "electrical components" and it's almost assured that any shop listed will sell them. Personally, I don't think the microswitch is rated for the 20amp surge and 10 amp continuous curr
  2. Wow, talk about confusing! The thread on the M249 flash hider is -ve, CCW, counter-clockwise, left handed. Call it what you want. It unscrews the OPPOSITE way from most nuts and bolts. What Infected says is correct, if a little confusing. If you're looking at the muzzle of the gun you should turn the f/h clockwise to remove it. The f/h has a spanner flat cut into it. I'd suggest you use it with a suitable spanner... or wrench.
  3. For laughs... My Spaniel got her winter coat sheared off yesterday so I thought I'd take pic's for comparison. BEFORE AFTER
  4. If they're looking to add new product lines I think THIS would go down well.
  5. Just had to call BS on this. Sorry. Gas guns can be reliable. I have precharged air rifles from the 1980's that still work just fine. As long as the hammer carries on thumping against the release valve you're golden. Gas blowback is a different story. GBBs take a HUGE pounding in use, especially when upgraded. Show me a GBB that's 10 years old and I'll show you a GBB that's seen very limited use. Cracks and worn parts are almost inevitable when you have pneumatically operated moving parts rattling around and, in the case of an M4, rattling off 20 rounds a second. In genera
  6. Nope. Pretty much every search engine in the world will find sequences of those letters regardless of if they're a complete word. Try searching for "G3" in an airsoft shop, for example. Most of the results will be to do with the G36c. I dunno if typing "<space>AUG<space>" would work.
  7. And you think that would get better or worse if 3 letter searches were allowed? For example, if you typed "AUG" in the search box, it'd STILL return every instance of the word "August" anyway. Basically, for every instance where a useful 3 letter search CAN be made ("MP5", "SL8" etc) then adding a "*" to the end of the search will allow it to happen.
  8. Today is a special day. Amongt the landslide of sh*te that makes up the thankless task of moderating an internet forum it's often difficult to tell the very bad from the absolutely awful. Today, however, through the concentrated efforts of a number of induhviduals, manages to stant head and shoulders above the usual pit of dross and, thus, May 8th will forever more be known as Stupid Day, in honour of those that gave so many of their remaining brain cells to make the rest of us laugh. We salute you! In other, unrelated (thank god) news, summer is here and I think I can genuinely
  9. Squad Leader Bodgen found his fire team equally hard to command in real life as in Full Spectrum Warrior.
  10. Erm, nope. The Zeke frame is painted in white emulsion to comply with Jap laws on producing realistic gun parts. Scratch it off and there's a nice black finish under there.
  11. Just wondering... I've just got around to installing Trillian and it allows me to set up backdrops in the IRC window. I was hoping to use the Arnies java IRC backdrop so I can easily spot what IRC room I'm in. Is there any way to download a copy of the backdrop graphic from the Arnies java room? I mean, I guess I could just screengrab it while the page was empty but I was hoping for a more elegant solution.
  12. Erm, you might want to rethink that one. Although "any" 16 tooth piston will fit (along with the spacer), some people have noted that the AA R85 seems to have an upper gearbox that's slightly too wide. As a result, some pistons will slip off the rails after they've been fitted. The important thing is to find a piston that's as wide as possible to minimise the chances of this happening. As for it not shooting in semi-auto, you need to modify the trigger block as per the thread I made on the subject a while back.
  13. We can always knock some off for you if you like.
  14. I dunno TBH. Obviously there are other midcaps that work far better than G&P ones as well. I think the problem is something to do with either the shape of the spring or the shape of the wire it's made from. Maybe the corners can dig into the walls of the BB channel more?
  15. I keep saying this but nobody seems to listen... Springs twist when they compress. Midcap springs are rectangular in section. When they compress the spring twists and binds up against the walls of the mag. THAT is the real problem with them. Everything else simply affects this. I added a length of electric cable in all my G&P midcaps to compress the spring and it made a difference but there's no guarantees. It just depends how your spring twists as to whether it'll bind up.
  16. At the risk of opening a can of worms (and then closing it again) bear in mind that any reputation system is open to abuse. We already encountered this during the brief period where the rep system WAS intended only for sales. Unfortunately, to be blunt, a bunch of immature MSN-cliques all got together an circle-jerked their rep's up the wazoo. As a sales rep, at the time, I noticed this quite a lot. We're not stupid. It was obvious. One person gives another a +ve rep point and leaves a comment such as "lol great sale, man" and receives a rep in return with the comment "Good b
  17. Just think of them as internet speeding-tickets. You did something wrong and that's how we tell you about it. No biggie. Personally (OCD again) I check the warning points of people in almost every thread I post in (not all the people, just a couple, at random ) and if I see warning points for something isolated, and it's over a year old, or something no longer against forum rules, I will zap them. As has already been said, the warnings are really there to give us an idea of trends (as well as giving the naughty kids a warning ) so if you've been given points for the same thing
  18. #1 "Elite chinese Special Forces take delivery of invisible bicycles" #2 "Magical forces eject chinese from Tibet in style"
  19. Yes, hooray for them. Feel free to get up and go and talk to your brother in his room rather than using the internet in future.
  20. Has anybody else tried using an EoTech on a support weapon? I've found it works well on my M249 cos it allows me a huge field of view from side-to-side when I'm strafing. Shame I didn't realise that before I bought a bloody Elcan for it. I'll put some pics up later on.
  21. The one thing I've learned since I've been using the internet is that if there's a loophole, however small, it's only a matter of time before somebody exploits it. It doesn't help, as well that IM systems create a "hive mind" in certain cliques and I'm often seen something that one person makes an innocent comment about manipulated by somebody with a devious mind. Put it another way; Could you write an advert that, after the title had been changed, could be read in an ambiguous way? Seriously, I could. It might be something as simple as calling a gun a G&P M4 in the title then r
  22. I'm always dubious about ANYTHING related to allowing people to alter sales related stuff. It'd be far too easy for "For Sale: G&P M4 c/w 2 hicaps and 10 midcaps" to become "For Sale: TM M4 c/w 2 hicaps" after an upset buyer receives something less than he was expecting. A car forum I use has a system whereby the seller can close their own thread and, in doing so, select a bunch of options such as Complete, Retracted, Re-listed, etc and, after the thread is closed, the selected option appears as a prefix for the thread title. During searching you can also filter your searches t
  23. If I want to know where this tiny banana-shaped spring that fell out of my GBB M9 goes, I'm not going to sign up on a forum and wait until the following week before I can post a thread to ask. I'll just go somewhere else instead. Idiots tend to continue to be idiots. They don't act like idiots for a week and then alter their habits. *EDIT* Also, I can't help wondering why Night Raven and Sniper Boi feel the need to communicate with each other via the forums when they're in the same room together, apparently.
  24. It makes good use of colour. Unless it's deliberate, you should try to stop defining edges with black lines. Use colour and shadow instead. For example, there's really no need for the head to be outlined. The difference in colour with the background would suffice. Also, more fundamentally, you should try not to get fixated with copying stuff. I got an O-level in design (a while back, now) and I spent almost the entire 2 years building up a portfolio and then, about a month before it had to be handed in, I realised that most of it was derivative, uninspired, junk. I then had to work li
