  1. When a +/- warn point is created there's an optional PM blank in the lower portion of the "create warn window" that we can fill out with an explaination and/or notification, usually isn't filled out, usually to save time which is usually canceled out by explaination PMs.

While no explaination or notification was given to you when you received the warn I think the post the mod made in the thread seemed a bit obvious, sort of a "you know who you are" rather than naming names since warn points are supposed to be anon. The spam should have been removed from the thread also.

I'd be a bit more annoyed with the 2 pages of spam and ridicule on another member that mod created in another thread

    http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/inde...t&p=2196191

But it's okay when we do it, it's all in good fun and we know how to be fair right?

  2. Didn't see it.

It likely depends on how it was written, might have looked more like a sale thread than a appraisal so a global mod removed it.

Sale threads are only allowed in the sales forum so anything outside the sales forum that looks like a sale gets removed.(you can put items in your sig but they're supposed to have a link to an actual sales thread here too(part of the reason alot of people's sigs get removed.))

  3. tread,

You've got the tags wrong. ^_^

The size and color tags should be wrapped around the text "STANAG AUG? Suits you Sir!" not around the URL tags

    Like this,

    [url="http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=172485&st=0&p=2155280entry2155280"][color="#008000"][size=4]STANAG AUG? Suits you Sir![/size][/color][/url]

    Looks like this,

    STANAG AUG? Suits you Sir!

I reccomend next time typing out whatever the title or shown text first, highlighting it and adding whatever effects you want such as size, color, bold ect. then highlighting the whole thing including your effects codes and then clicking the Insert link option last to add your URL so you don't have to fiddle around between other tags.

Of course now that I've posted I see you've figured it out :P

  4. Hedge, you've been spoken to before about your signature size and in that thread you did sort of make a big fuss about yourself being above the normal flock didn't you? MDK's post is very tame compared to the ones you made then and many others.

    Trumph card!

We reserve the right to refuse to publish any advertisement without ascertaining any reason, and to classify, edit and delete at its sole discretion. The placing of any advert is an acceptance of these conditions.

(technically it refers to the sales section but same difference.)

If a global or admin edits a post or the rules they wouldn't usually leave edit tags or a time stamp, so they could change/update the original post and not notice that they've left no footprint to notify you of a change but people would ignore an announcement if one was made and it really isn't a big one as most members are within this rule's "restrictions".

It suggest total sig size can be 300x400(max 100x total images+200x total text), which is larger than the 200px height arnie suggested in 2005 which included text. So rather than resticting your sig size the new rule allows your sig to be bigger.

Biggest sig thing lately is the perks project. Alot of members added their "perks" to their existing signatures and made some oversized. Yours was kinda big before but it sounds like a staff member did notify you of the change since you've managed to complain about it.. but thank you for looking out for your fellow members and that includes myself, as I had no idea of the change either and feel totally uneffected by it :/

Only effects people with really big signatures like yours was, the ones like catman's were large but contained useful information where as yours is mainly personal. A sig it meant to be just a small insignificant space with something about you or to advertise things and not to be a whole 'nother post of, frankly, useless stuff that gets put up every time you post..

Again, nobody reads announcements, nobody cares until it affects them directly *and all you've likely done here is choosen something to vent your frustration on because you don't like being told what you can and can't do on a recognized private forum.

*I am, rarely, correct when I assume things of course(though I do always assume I'm correct, so I guess it evens things out(in my head at least))

Forgotten what I was originally going to do before this thread distracted me..

  5. Bit late but another option is to use google to search the website.

If I wanted to look up Uzi related topics posted here on arnies I would type the following into google's search bar:

    [uzi site:arniesairsoft.co.uk]

    or

    Uzi site:arniesairsoft.co.uk

and I'll get search results of the topics with Uzi in them.

Put the keyword you want to search followed by SITE: and then the website. You can do more than one keyword to make the search more specific.

    uzi TM site:arniesairsoft.co.uk

    or

    uzi+TM site:arniesairsoft.co.uk

Would get results only relating to or mentioning the TM uzi.

Works for any website far as I know and considering my limited knowledge of computers I would be very disappointed if I was the only one who knew and used this :/

The astriks/wildcard helps but doesn't get everything, if I typed Uzi* or *uzi into the search box in the sales section I would only get a couple of the sales with uzi mentioned in them instead of all of them(mostly know this because not all of my sales topics come up and I've offered to take Uzi stuff as trades in almost all of them ^_^)

    Regards,

  6. Wouldn't really matter if it's toxic, just about anything can cause infections especially if you don't wash or flush out any residue left behind.

Not really interested in confining anything to one type of play either, cheaters are not that big of an issue that that's the only alternitive. Just tell yourself you "killed" them and a that new player magically took his place, 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th time's a charm.

That or maybe it's time to lace the admin so he wakes up.

  7. Don't really care for the idea but that's because it's only a tiny mark since only a small part of the bb will even hit and I don't think it will really stop cheaters since they can just clean it off and go back to cheating. Most you can hope for this is if someone isn't sure they were hit they could see the little mark but then generally if you think you're hit you're supposed to call it anyway.

Wondering what would happen if the coating got into a open cut/wound from a higher FPS hit, infections?

  8. Yep, it's a KHC maverick Model 88(bullpup mossberg M500/590)

    http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filnavn=/r...rick_review.htm

I thought it would be bigger :(

I heard the pump action was difficult as well, along with the model being very heavy but I'm not having any trouble with either. I do use airsoft shotguns frequently, including the TMs so I assume I'm just used to it (although using a verticle grip is new and somewhat awkward), I love this model so far ^_^

    So... jealous...

    it's only $100 a barrel Donut.

  9. "If you don't like it you can leave" is one of the more ignorant responses you can give someone Ed.

I've used it more than once and I don't like it but it's pretty much to be reserved only for someone who has already threatened leaving(why waste time dragging it out?) or someone who obviously has no intention of changing their attitude to fit the minimium requirement, for everyone else you should try to fix the issue or try to explain it so that even if they still don't like it they at least know why it's there.

I've been to another forum where members can add to previous posts with updates(cannot remove/edit original post), that's always worked fairly well except sometimes you get people adding snide remarks to their previous posts that are less likely to be seen and then there was that one guy who added porn to all his old posts before he jumped ship...

One of the bigger issues with allowing anyone to edit or remove their own posts at anytime is someone will always abuse it. Adding/removing misleading information, inappropriate material, insults, or members editing out their own stupidity(shoulda thought alittle harder about it when you posted). Sales section for example a bad seller can post a fake item along with several real items, sell the fake then remove the evidence or list a damaged item as perfect condition then after it's been sold edit in the correct information on it's condition so if those buyers make a fuss they can deny it, excusing the edit stamps for legitimate edits(adding items as sold, ect.) All of which happened alot on one of the local forums I used to visit until they removed the old classifieds system and replaced it with a bulletin board style section where no edits, posts or comments could be made.

If you feel there is a real issue(don't waste their time) with something you've posted you can use the report button to bring attention to the post, explain what's wrong and what you'd like edited then a mod will review the post to decide if it really needs editing/removing or.... you could always make another post apologizing for the previous, which no one ever does.

and now since everyone knows their reports arn't anonymous..

    mib.jpg

You could avoid this issue all together by putting more thought and common sense behind each of your posts before listing them rather than treating the forum like a big spastic instant messenger ^_^

  10. Will this tag have any restrictions to those users like not being able to access sales section to poke around the private sales or is it just to tell you who's who?

Do these members still need to get permission to post advertisments and commercial sales or does this tag act as a pass?

  11. which would be the earliest(acending, old-new) date...

you want latest(decending, new-old) for that one.

I think periods break up the thing though and make it only see a single letter, like only the "S" in 'S.T.A.L.K.E.R'.

typing in just stalker for the title search got these 2 that may be what you want

  12. Patches(iron-on and velcro) and stickers(normal adhesive and cling-on) would be more versital and cheaper all around than getting full BDU sets/jackets/vests.

Be impractical when you can just sell patches/stickers that people can put on whatever they want.

One of my friends has a stencil printer/cutter at work that he used to spray some layered images on the back of his BDU tops that looks nice, I dunno about selling this but It might be interesting to offer a printable stencil icon that can be resized if anyone wants to spray their items with either the site's logo or a site icon. Free advertising :/

  13. Pablo, sometimes it goes to a board message screen with a redish background and a message saying along the lines of 'the administrator has turn on the flood control feature, please try your search again in a minute', it won't do it for 3 letter searches instead you would get the usual message for that. It also sometimes does it for posting/PMs/ect..

Far as I would geuss it means too many people are trying to access or use the board at once and if you keep clicking search again over and over it likely isn't helping that

I normally wait or try again when less people are online but I've also cleared my cookies and gotten things to work only I don't know if it had something to do with the cookies or if I was just away long enough.

It is annoying though, like myself ^_^
