    Getting Back into Airsoft.

In 3 years? I feel like at any given time in airsoft's existence 3 years isn't that much, stuff evolves very slightly but when you bear in mind a plastic legacy TM AEG is still more than perfectly usable to play the game it puts things in to perspective.

I've PM'd you mate, this is a dead thread at this point.

    Posting IMGs from Google Photos

I get what you're saying, but as I say the long links work 100% fine on the other 2 forums which to me would tend to suggest the issue is more with this board. Example: https://airsoft-forums.uk/topic/7377-the-what-have-you-just-bought-thread/?do=findComment&comment=355912 I'm pretty confident I already tried using the Share/Get Link option in other threads here and various other users said they still weren't seeing anything, but here's a test just in case: https://photos.app.goo.gl/kSo3vE1WdGaod54J9 And using the type of site shown in the video: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/0-rLzyQgOBinnL_seQQSzor0-OxpWqCdXsipcvXEkOKNhhYcK3hn7nMTk68c9_2yD7KL3K61yqNHVSXe4Uyoxkl3FmBhkOUA=w2400 Pasting either style of link in to the 'Insert Image from URL' under the 'Insert Other Media' drop-down in the bottom right of the post writing box just results in the text field flashing red at me when I click insert in to post. If I do the standard thing and Copy Image Address on GP then use said drop-down it appears to work on my end: I would presume you'll not see an image here ^ however.

Hey no rush I get a really good value out of my ArniesAirsoft monthly subscription.

I had to move from flickr after they switched their entire model, but it seems 99% of people here can't view any images I post that are hosted on my new account over at GP, so I pretty much can't post any pictures here anymore because tbh I'm not moving everything again or individually re-hosting each image I want to post. It does seem odd this issue had arisen, the GP hosting works perfectly fine ad one would expect over on AF-UK and DevTsix. Original issue highlighted: Test thread for reference: In that thread I personally can see the 1st image in the OP perfectly fine and also the image in the 2nd post, but the 2nd image in the 1st post is just a hyperlink.

    Quality Chargers?

Well, this has opened a surprising can of worms I have to say. Seemed like the imax would be the cheaper option, but if you google the b6 there's a youtube video you should come across going over differences between what are apparently the real ones and the chinese clones which appear to be incredibly common - every one I found on ebay UK appears to be a clone to the extent I can't even seem to find a real one for sale. hobbyking lists 2, with product pages for apparent real and clone options but the pictures of the supposed real one also appears to be the copy. Even the SkyRC website doesn't do sales and their 'where to buy' section is *fruitcage* useless with nothing but a link for potential dealers. Now I don't trust anything anymore, even though I'm not coming across anything to indicate there are many copies of the accucel out there. Probably go with stuff from component-shop, I feel they have good odds of only stocking legit stuff. Unrelated I know but the fact many legit stores ended up selling knock-off chinese CATs (because the fakes were so real looking) leaves me pretty paranoid these days.

    Quality Chargers?

I've been using one of these guys for yonks now, ever since I switched over from nimh to lipo in fact: https://www.componentshop.co.uk/800ma-charger-for-2s-or-3s-7-4-11-1v-battery-packs-complete-with-mains-power-supply.html It works great, but obviously with no digital readout you don't get details on what's actually happening with your battery (I'll be buying a small capacity checker along with whatever charger I get). Being that I only play a few times a year it's proven extremely prudent that I get my lipos recharged up to an appropriate level given the long gaps inbetween uses. I've only look on component-shop thus far, of their offerings this seems like the right sort of option to fit my personal needs: https://www.componentshop.co.uk/accucel-6-digital-charger-with-5a-power-supply.html Just wondered what experiences the good folks of Arnies might have to offer (good quality 7.4v brand recommendations would also be welcome as an aside).

AR15 Variants and Derivitives Picture Thread

Hold up, wasn't that the vaporware from aaaages ago (around the time of the Real Sword GBLS-style ARs) that was meant to stop firing on an empty mag using bog standard AEG mags?

    LCT EBB prototypes - MP5, SCAR H, M16, G3, CQBR

Well dayum. Fair few people out there looking for that ideal blend of higher end/close-to-real externals with the functions of the TM NGRSs (me included) so yeah definitely appealing. Do the AKs stop firing when empty? I feel like they don't which would be the one thing to my mind holding these guns back from perhaps being the bestest thing ever on the electric rifle market (if they function reliably and shoot decently well). It's taken many years but I'm getting close to actually buying an airsoft MP5 now.

To clarify, I do not have RS barrels or muzzle devices on any of my RIFs. Get back in your box MI5. That's right I see you.

No that's fine, not trying to come aggressive here and if it reads that's way then my apologies. Personally, I'll use real stuff where I physically/legally can purely because I find that a fun element of a build, but I've tended towards the lightweight side of the spectrum for many years now on those RS parts, especially with rails, barrels, muzzle devices and other front end parts. If I can use a pot metal barrel that looks essentially the same as a steel one and is mostly covered anyway, but weighs a lot less, than that's my preference. Right now I'm fighting with a V7 Hyper Light M-LOK tube trying to get it on my Krytac LVOA - horrible tolerances on the barrel nut.

Been playing about 13 years, only ever hit an AR replica barrel in to anything firmly one time, was Dytac pot metal and it showed zero sign of damage. You're welcome to use what you like that's fine, but this is airsoft you can play as hard or as easy as you like. I'll take the lightweight option seeing as I don't play much and I tend to just not bash my guns in to things when I do play, same way I treat my issued rifle.

Add a load of weight in perhaps the worst place to add weight as far as it relates to affect on handling? For essentially zero gain both practically and aesthetically? Not personally my cup of tea thanks, I infinitely prefer the standard pot metal barrels, especially given you basically can't see 80%+ of the barrel with most builds using modern handguard configurations.

    Is there ANY shotshow news?

For an exaggeration, 23 word caption with ~1500 likes wasn't too far off pitch. I've not personally had that I have to say and outside a tiny handful of companies I've got loose relationships with nobody at the show knows who I am, far from it. I've managed to walk the entire show before now, didn't quite manage it this year but I covered 90% or so of the walkways, stopped in at many, many booths and barely had any dismissive attitudes, in fact I don't recall any this year. KAC had a no picture policy in (I think) 2016 because there was that ITAR scare that 'exporting' a picture of a controlled item would contravene the law and one guy I spoke to clearly had a bit of a *suitcase* mood on, but that was a drop in a bucket vs basically everyone else I've ever spoken to being at the very least willing to answer a few questions. Plenty more I've met, probably the majority, have been highly enthusiastic to talk about the things they clearly have a passion for with someone like-minded, especially if you approach with good questions. I don't know if this is still the case, but last I checked only media badges were allowed to record media so that could be a factor too. Not discounting your experience at all, just sharing mine. It's not unfair to say that some booth people go hugely out of their way for the big follower counts, but equally in business that's not an unjustifiable practice. I don't personally feel that I get treated in such a way that I need to change the way I do things things in order to hit the big numbers and have the red carpet rolled out as almost everyone I've met has been quite professional, but again that's just my limited personal experience.

    Is there ANY shotshow news?

You think they've got time to write blogs and make videos for their followers at the one time of year where all this kit is in the same place? There's too much drinking to be done with all the other celebs. You really don't need to bother spending ages writing and editing when you've already got tens of thousands of followers. You can post a single picture on IG with a 12 word caption and get 2500 likes because that's all 95% of the audience can be bothered to consume anyway. Having an attention span is just incredibly hard.
