  1. Anybody got a bog standard plain AR AEG receiver end plate lying around? Seem to have mistakenly chucked all my spares at some point.

Looks a tiny bit different to the ones I've had before, but yeah pretty much. I cannot find plain standard ones for sale for the life of me.

  2. Anybody successfully mounted a QD receiver end plate? I fitted a MAG branded GBBr one to my mid-length SOCOM a while back, but only just now tried to attach a sling. Turns out there's not enough clearance between the hole for the QD and the castle nut for said sling to actually fit in to place. The plate itself seems reasonable quality and dremelling it out to fit as I'd done with GBB ASAPs in the past went fine, but I'm guessing that either TM castle nuts are a little larger than usual or the QD socket in the plate sits a bit higher than usual (or a bit of both). Pretty annoying given tha
  3. Was about to say it looks like a gas gun with that grip angle. Surprised Dytac have managed to pull that off, will definitely be picking up a couple of those grips to try out. Looks pretty realistic being all BCM with the Geissele trigger in there; which is the handy thing about BCM because their grips, stock and rail are all really good so you don't necessarily need to cherry pick the best stuff from other manufacturers. May have to swap out some stuff on my Avalon/KMR build now after seeing that... what brands are the trigger and the compensator?
  4. They're aimed at very different sectors of the market. If you want more details ask in the Gear Discussion section, this is a picture thread.
  5. Got some of these free with something else, so, mer-kuh. Nothing says freedom like 556x45 wrapped in ol' glory.
  6. And there was I thinking the RS name would be totally different to the airsoft name, my bad. Great example of something that even in 762x51 is still a 'pistol' as far as US law is concerned, 'cause I'd call that a bolt action rifle that's just got a very short stock. Nice stuff as always wolf.
  7. What calibre were(/are??) those things in firearm form?
  8. Two fly-bys from the Vulcan. Totes emotes.

  9. Maybe make a thread in technical discussion so people can reply and discuss options rather than ask a bunch of people for text replies in a picture thread?
  10. Heh, nice. I suppose in a way it's not 100% surprising, on the firearm itself the force the user applies to the trigger is pushed up on to a tilting bar in the slide, which then acts down at the other end on the sear to release the hammer. Not sure why that was decided upon rather than the bow piece that the 1911 has on the trigger, because the BHP has probably one of the worst triggers in the world whereas the 1911 is obviously famous for being great in that area. Interesting RIF though, certainly never seen anything like it.
  11. Would any of them play without eye pro...? So how do they justify not putting any on the dog? There's no way you can 100% guarantee some *Ubar* won't shoot it, neither can you guarantee it won't react badly to some element of the game and try to harm a player (more of a hazard with a bigger dog admittedly, but still). *fruitcage* stupid idea, to put it mildly.
  12. Video showing Magnus effect on basketball is trending no1 on my facebook right now. Finally airsoft getting the limelight it deserves.

  13. That's awesome Kato. Shame the PPS is so low quality, but I love seeing this sort of work done on a gun and it's a rare thing in airsoft, so to my eye your pictures and the whole mindset and experience/reasoning behind what you're showing is all just fantastic. A quality, reliable semi-auto 12G that takes lots of RS parts with good availability of equally high quality shells is certainly something I dream of seeing on the market one day.
  14. That's 'cause it was a small waitrose, a big one will always have exactly what you want. You might not realise it before you go in there, but you will by the time you come out. Fact.
  15. Any cap with mesh is always gonna be my go-to head gear for skirmishing in most climates. Takes the real sting out of a head shot but lets out way more sweat than a standard cap. Surprised this style hasn't seen more widespread adoption to be honest.
  16. Glad to hear that, I personally didn't have anything available though. I went for the V1 in 'Desert Dirt' which is actually a very, very shiny tan in person. Doesn't match the matt latté sort of paint on the upper at all, but I did buy the gun second hand and the ALG is one of the cheapest rails I've picked up, so I've stuck a black MOE stock and matching pistol grip on there and called it a... well not back-up.. but not one of my star players in the first team. Not conventionally pretty, but it is very, very light and extremely handy so good for actual skirmishing anyway.
  17. I don't know what you may have heard about me. But a *badgeress* cannot get a dollar out of me. That much I know.
  18. Well as I said, waiting on the muzzle device then I'll post the full rifle. Just a progress shot.
  19. VFC SR-16 upper re-threaded to proper RS specs. ALG Defense barrel nut installed along with the barrel and gas block/tube, all nice and straight and secure. Just need a new muzzle device to properly cover the inner (since it's slightly longer than the outer) and I can finally finish this build. It's taken ages since there was originally a VFC URX II on there which consisted of a primary barrel nut, the rail itself which screws on to the threads that are on the outside of said barrel nut, then another outer-barrel securing nut. All 3 parts were torqued to insane values way beyond what's nee
  20. SOCOM Gear Lancer mag with supplied fake rounds - SOCOM Gear mag with rounds removed for TMAG style visibility - Actual Lancer L5 translucent magazine No idea how any of these will/would hold up to any usage and I've not even tried the fit or feeding of the airsoft ones yet. Overall I find the level of grip and ergonomics of these mags to the be the best of any out there I've tried. The RS fits and feeds in the L85A2 as well, which is nice.

American PX stores are the thing of legends on deployment.

You go months with just the SQMS finding a different type of ration box for you to eat. Then go into the airconditioned wonder dome that is the American/Danish/Estonian PX and it's iPods and mint M+Ms.

  23. I genuinely agree 100%, I'm the same and having spent some time looking at a cerakote colour sample key fob thingy there are without doubt differences in the actual texture, reflectiveness, depth etc between different shades and if you're having something like that done (which costs a fair bit) you'd absolutely want the best product to suit your preferences and the gun build you're constructing.
