  1. Some nice bits of kit and a load-out there from fellowz, the M14 just fits somehow... Got a set of those coveralls in DPM a little while back, says 'Training use only' inside so I presumed it might be one of those random bits of kit you'd only see on one little training base somewhere far away from anywhere. Not a clue what to do with it really, not terribly interested in a tanker load-out and nothing else really comes to mind, what you gonna do with yours grim?
  2. Fair enough, maybe there are issue inserts. It would surprise me knowing brit kit, but it would make more sense if there were.
  3. They have no armour in, they're not going to stop shrapnel I'm sure. Flame, flash and blast maybe to an extent, but that's about it.
  4. What are those (along with the deltoid ones) intended to actually protect against? They don't actually have soft armour inserts I presume? Covering your neck against the sun in the desert makes sense I suppose, but why your shoulders...
  5. What did they used to use when the FAL was still in? I've definitely seen training videos of blokes using DPM PLCE and firing FALs, though I didn't look at their webbing in great detail to be honest.
  6. Damn, those double ammos look like they'd seen more abuse than the webbing I got at recruit, nice. Issue water bottle pouch or something else?
  7. Dammit, can't edit my posts any more. Well I got around to dredging around the old grey matter and came up with a kit list, think everything's there: Clothing: Temperate DPM UBACS, with subdued union flag and RAF tactical flash Current Issue CS95 trousers Oakley 8” black boots OD US Nomex flight gloves 1000 mile socks, very important! Hatch NK45 OD Neoprene knees pad(s) Head gear: Original Mk6. helmet with new chinstrap fitted Issue helmet cover IR Reflective band ESS NVG Goggles, foam removed and dark tinted lense fitted One hole spandex type black balac
  8. To be fair, a lot of the pouches are covered by my arm/weapon in those pics, they do all have green edging admittedly, but the triple 40mm grenade pouch on my upper left there is the only one with completely green securing flaps. Fair assumption to make really. The next on my to-do list is actually a proper PLCE loa-out (RAF specific), the helmet I've got there is a Mk6 (original without kevlar, not the 'a' update) and I've got issue boots and the lightweight jacket, just need the webbing itself and waiting on an ICS L85. PLCE certainly isn't the most customisable or the coolest lo
  9. Unlucky, I reckon some will turn up again soon enough though, they must be selling so makes sense to produce more. It's not a plate carrier though, it's a Pointman MOLLE vest (with pouch set). Underneath it I've got an actual issue plate carrier, one of the old school ones which fit plates the size of your little finger nail, not the best bit of kit ever and doesn't pad things out much, but it's the only temperate DPM plate carrier I could think of and find at the time, very cheap to. The combat kit stuff does look pretty good, but I decided to go with the pointman in the end, easier to
  10. While the ones on EBB are a good product innovation wise, the DPM pattern and colours in particular are pretty badly off, so no didn't go for them. The trousers are current standard issue, the drop-legs unfortunately prevent quick access of the map pockets but what can you do. Shirt is a temperate DPM UBACS, the sleeves are massive for some reason (even taking in to account my matchstick arms) and unfortunately it doesn't feature velcro on the closure flap for the pockets, but overall very well made, excellent elbow padding. When I got mine there were a few up on eBay and survivalaids but n
  11. Well, as the auction says that rig I linked to is designed for holding ammo for the 'Type 53', as you correctly highlighted a Chinese copy of the Russian SKS, a carbine version of the Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle. Says it's for holding clips of the ammo which I would guess come in 5 rounds each, 180 rounds/5 round clips = 36 clips, 36 clips/9 pouches (1 pouch for cleaning kit) = four, 5 round clips of AK type ammo per pouch. Probably stacked 2 high and 2 deep, so that gives you a rough idea of how much space you'd get per pouch, might take M14/G3 or 5.56 STANAGs but it'd probably be tight
  12. Grenadier, DPM: More in the DPM thread.
  13. As you can see, very much an Airsofter DPM load-out, but I'm quite pleased overall with how it's worked. Not having a terribly large amount of locker room in my bedspace here, I have to get all my kit sent home and sort of build up the thing in my mind as I go along until I get leave, hence the evident lack of prep. time. Had a bit of a nightmare adjustment wise with the first line, but not being used to this American style setup I think it's probably a matter of practice. Inspiration from many sources, bit of COD4 SAS in there, some taken from other lo
  14. Here's yet another type: eBay link Interesting. Wouldn't mind one of those 4 pocket ones myself.
  15. Hold up, don't they usually just have the 3 mag pouches and 2 small ones at the end?
  16. Buzzsaw and Doc, some nice load carrying equipment right there, good stuff. Got so many new bits of temperate kit sitting at home right now that I can't get at until I'm back from RIAT... uh, frustrating.
  17. Any idea where that pic came from Doc? Only a lot of things in it make me think that was taken down the good old Deployed Ops. Training area at Cosford.
  18. Out of interest what's the component going along the left side of the picture? I'm entirely clueless when it comes to a lot of the US style webbing.
  19. Very nice kit mate, nice to see I'm not the only person on these forums that goes there either.
  20. Is it even possible to get hold of Mk6's any more? I'm having a major headache trying to find one.
  21. And while someone's at it, stick a couple more of those in an L85, a SCAR-L and the box mag housing of a Minimi.
  22. Blimey, I thought it was just a bunch of guys who'd got a bulk buy deal on the same boots at first Nice one.
  23. Yeah, wrapping it in some sort of tape or DPM fabric is always reversible, I would expect the bloke that actually sprayed the parts could well have been marching around in Number 1s at 10pm for a few nights when he got home.
  24. Finally got it all to a decent-ish standard I reckon, was a bugger to get it to sit flat but there you go. My impression of MOLLE-ised PLCE: Go BULLE
