  1. For those that own the recoil counterweight: About how much would you say it weighs? What does it seem to be made of? I also was able to add some small lead weights originally intended for fishing to see their effect. I don't recall how much weight was added total but I also noticed a bit more kick. I had a bit more trouble with cool-down though.
  2. About how much would you say the weight weighs? What is it made of? Sucks that the few aftermarket parts the WE gets don't seem to be worth anything...
  3. Sorry Otto, but I disagree. There's no doubt that the hop up is directly linked to accuracy, but if the BBs look like that jo matter how great the hop is they're never going to fly right. I'd agree that going on the photo, it doesn't look like it's the nozzle either. The two marks are spread too far part for it to be the nozzle's tip, and I think it would take a lot of force for something to crush most BBs like that. KSC BBs have always been really easy to crush or shatter in my experience. Ignoring that, they are IMO the best brand. Also tried tried weighting m
  4. Anyone ever come across something like this? (Sorry for the craptastic picture.) I would guess I'm the only one because of the way it happened, but maybe not. Basically I hand-tightened the screw that holds the nozzle assembly together (because I haven't gotten around to getting some blue threadlock) and didn't check the inside of the rig for a few weeks. About 2 mags before the nozzle snapped, I noticed it wasn't performing as normal and opened up the WE to discover the nozzle/piston assembly had worked its way about halfway down the silver screw in the bolt carrier. I
  5. So then the recoil weights don't really have much use in your average civvy semi-auto? About how much weight would make sense to add? Think I might stick a handful of lead fishing weights inside the recoil guide along with a small piece of cloth to prevent them from rattling. Edit: Also I think I can agree that the Krytox grease is as good as it can get. Seems to be made of angel's tears or something, just wish it wasn't priced as so...
  6. Very cool news sabrepilot. I was wondering about those enhanced recoil spring guides on TSone. What are the weights supposed to do in the real AR-15? Surely increased recoil is generally not optimum...
  7. Can't believe it's been a whole month already. The shortest month in the year, but still several weeks... I've not done everything I wanted as far as fun airsoft stuff goes, but I made a little headway with my planned projects (and a little with some unplanned ones, too). I did buy and install the quite nice CA MP5SD front assembly, and I'm pretty glad I did. The gun is far from quiet as far as suppressed AEGs go (in fact less quiet even than with the standard end and a KA suppressor), but the grip is much more comfortable and the whole thing looks very nice as is. It would figu
  8. Tacstar. With everything left alone the shells were almost impossible to get in and (especially) out, but all I did to the saddle itself was leave the two center screws out so that it could flex outward and be less clamp-like. I also removed the paper wrapper from all of the shells to make them slightly thinner, and coated them a bit in thick silicone oil. They still can be hard to get out with one hand, but usually as long as I wiggle them up and down before use they're fine. Not the most practical setup but hey... Also loving the wood Jorge14.
  9. Hmm, annoying how? Might get one just to try it since I think they're only a few bucks. I know picks are only a few cents each, but I always lose them or they get tossed around and litter m,y furniture. I have a little tray on my amp for picks, but they never get put back in there. How do you mean not comfortable? Just not as easy to carry? To be honest I think I'll just stick with the bag it came with since it's the cheapest route.
  10. You could make some American friends and have one of them help you.
  11. Try filling with another gas can. Usually whenever my can of propane is near empty I have some trouble filling my mags all the way. Anybody used the aluminium bolt carrier yet?
  12. Not as cool as most but it's certainly better than the one that was lent to me and a lot more fun to play than my bass. Does it make sense to get a hard case if I already have a soft one? I generally only travel to and from where my instructor teaches once a week, but it seems to get knocked around a lot even inside the case. It's not a very expensive guitar and I plan on getting something high-end much later on (when I'm actually any good ), but still... Also, are those little things that hold picks on the guitar stupid, or are they actually useful enough to buy and clip on?
  13. Same DE M3, but without the un-tacticool RDS and rail. I decided they were ugly and unnecessary. Also, with uber cool angle: Haha, when an old cheap spring shotty crapped out on me I melee'd a wall with the stock and barrel repeatedly. It's definitely the most fun way to permanently retire an old gun.
  14. Take the mag apart and investigate. Where is the gas leaking from, the release valve?
  15. Nope, it's got the handguard that slides over the receiver and the different shaped receiver with a rail. I've always been a bit put-off by the handguard's cocking action, but they do look nice.
  16. You're sure you're turning it the right direction right? Yes and no, and it also depends on what you mean. By firing the gun with gas in it but no BBs you are wearing all the working parts, but probably no more than if you were firing BBs. Obviously something's going to break eventually with any kind of use, and dry firing is no exception. You may be causing the float valve to wear out slightly faster, but I honestly doubt it. Basically it's because the valve might close a little harder because there isn't a BB to create a sort of back pressure to keep the valve open
  17. Not sure what you're looking for exactly, but here's one, here's another. Silicone grease should be fine, but oil is a bit too thin and runny to be really effective on the larger moving parts (like the bolt carrier).
  18. Haha, that made me chuckle. You can use the "Preview Post" button in add reply to check the filter's replacement without posting.
  19. I'm really surprised that they can come out so well with all the randomness involved. I bet it wouldn't be too hard to make a music video...
  20. Never mind, you don't look like him at all. You wouldn't happen to be some sort of secret agent, would you?

  21. It's lose. One O, 'else it's what kind of hips that sink ships. Also, think detective *rickroll* Tracy for the *rickroll* one. Are there really that many naughty words to go with all of these terms? Sweaty Pancakes? I still can't figure out Frootcagio... Edit: Lot's are still beeps and #s, though.
  22. I was able to use mine for a long time by stretching a rubber band over the back of the handle and over the front of the upper receiver. I should for the most part prevent the charging handle from moving back on its own while the bolt is cycling.
  23. Otto Thanks. I haven't had a chance to take the barrel apart yet, but when I do I'll look for the bearing. I never noticed it being in there the very first time I took it apart and it was still firing normal when I put it back together, so I'll have to see. It is the only thing that makes sense now, though. If it is in fact missing, is there an everyday item I can use as a replacement? Generally as long as it doesn't contain petroleum (it usually says contains petroleum distillates on the container) it should be okay. I would get it and try it on something el
  24. Part #42 is basically a drop-in fit in most cases. Getting to the stock part is pretty easy, but you're probably going to need a pair of vise grips and needle nose pliers. It should bring your muzzle velocity down substantially if your WE is shooting 400+ FPS, and it's the only thing to reduce FPS as far as I know. If you're bolt catch isn't steel, you're going to want a new one of those as well. Besides that you should be fine for a long while. You may want to get a few replacement o-rings (part #122), but if you polish the opening of the BB cylinder and keep the nozzle assembly tigh
