  1. I'm having some issues with my hop up. After installing the second inner barrel (and moving the nub from one barrel to the other) I'm getting only about 100 feet of range even with the hop turned all the way up and BBs are hooking to the left or right at the end of their flight. I've tried re-installing the nub and I'm sure it's clean and free of lube. Any ideas? I've not yet tried to use the other barrel yet, but I'm pretty sure the problem is with the nub. I'm also pretty sure it's not an issue with gas getting to the barrel, but I don't have any reliable way of checking.
  2. Just skim through the thread or check out the WE M4 Guide for parts that have the highest chance of breaking. If yours is the very first version you should only need a new (steel) bolt catch and you should be alright. As long as you ordered your WE from Airsoft Buddy then you should be able to get replacement parts for free plus shipping. Probably best to send AB an email and ask. You're severely underestimating the durability of your WE. The only part that's ever flown off of mine is the forward assist nob, and that seems to have been an isolated incident that was easily and perm
  3. Heh, the mag stand threw me off for a moment. Why is the upper receiver lighter?
  4. Yes, details please. Is there a website or something set up where one might be able to order one, or is it more of a custom one-off with room for more?
  5. Ooh, this is spooky. Did that heal up?
  6. Didn't you post that picture before? I'm sure I saw it already. You tend not to forget a sight like that....
  7. Cool. I'd ask to keep us informed, but I guess it's not really necessary.
  8. Anyone bought/installed the ally bolt carrier yet? I'm curious to know exactly how performance is affected. Also, anyone installed (or tried to install) a real solid stock on their M4? Just curious.
  9. I didn't really have any expectations but I'm glad that this turned out great. I'm hoping they clone the Skorpion, just so I can get some cheap mags.
  10. Feedtubes are things of the past. We don't need them on GBBs.
  11. Really nice. I like the look of super short shotguns. I would agree that the longer standard mag looks off though. A short flush one would definitely be nicer.
  12. Well, it's been almost a year since I took a look at this. I'm not sure what happened, but lately I just feel like writing something down (And not the BS that I usually write. Y'know, the stuff that's involuntary.). Picking up where I left off with my last entry, almost all of my old airsoft stuff is gone. Besides my Skorpion and a few cheap guns, I have all relatively new stuff. Everything was bought second-hand, so I guess it's not truly new but it's new to me and for the most part something different. Over the past 2 months I pretty much did my best to keep my collection of toys d
  13. I was hoping some one would ask that. Honestly, it's pretty ghetto underneath the plastic clamp part. Basically the whole thing is attached with a layer of clear 5 minute epoxy, but I also drilled three new holes in the metal back piece for small screws (not long enough to go through the receiver and into the internal worky bits) for additional re-enforcement. The top rail for the RDS is attached using a similar method. It's not been abused much yet but it seems to be surprisingly durable.
  14. You can also get silicone grease for plumbing at the hardware store. It's a little on the thick side though. In my experience soaking the seals in power steering fluid for a few days almost always cures leaks with valves. I think snowman first mentioned the trick. Thanks for the info Paul.
  15. That's lower than I was hoping, but better than what it was before at least. That's with the standard M4 length inner barrel, yes? About what temp?
  16. Just a DE M3 with a few bits. The RDS doesn't look as bad as I thought, but I'll still probably take it off since I can't get my eyes to focus with it for some reason. The shells are also hard to get out of the holder, so I might have to sand off some of the material inside of the clamps. It's not too special in comparison to some of the other shottys on here, but I still really like it.
  17. I'm not sure I get where you're coming from. There is a difference between the WE and WA, if you didn't know... Although the WE M4 is a pretty good deal as far as airsoft products go, it is still an airsoft product and so really is just an overpriced toy. It can break when you push it just a little further, and it can break even if you don't. It costs a lot, and it shoots little balls of plastic. It's pretty much like any other airsoft gun out there. The WE M4 does have to be pampered a bit more, some tricks may be required to get it working completely smoothly out of the box, so it
  18. The part that you saw is a valve that should reduce power. It seems to be working pretty much the same (although BBs do seem to hit a lot less hard). I'd have to agree that the low power valve will probably never have the same problem with snapping that the high power one has because of its heavier construction. The newer (as in more recent than the first batch) valve assemblies seems to have slightly different inner dimensions, so depending on when yours is from the valve may not fit. If I were you I'd just buy a whole new nozzle and rod assembly just to be on the safe side.
  19. Cool. Could use some paint on the poker chip tin though.
  20. Three that have reported in this thread, anyhow. rottenotto posted a while ago (not going to bother finding the post, sorry) that you can stick the ends of a pair of small needle nose pliers inside two of the four holes in the valve and unscrew it after you've removed the silver rod. It's a little difficult to turn at first and you may not have a proper pair of pliers, but short of rigging you're own tool it's probably the best way to go.
  21. Link to the sale thread. I'm also a bit interested in what's wrong with the trigger mech.
  22. I'd really like to change my email to my primary one, but every time I try I get an error message saying that it has already been used. The exact message is: Since I've never used this email here, it doesn't really make sense.
  23. Can't wait to get it, sounds like really great stuff. If only it was cheaper and more easily available... I took a close look at part #59 and pretty much came up with the same conclusion. The hammer hits it, but it doesn't look like it really has to do much at all. The big block behind it and the top corner of part of the "U" of #59 look to take most of the heavy lifting. Maybe you just got a bad part? Not really sure but hopefully that's what happened. Better than the alternative, at least. It really sucks that you can't get another separately, too. Maybe you could mak
  24. Remove that avatar immediately. It's making me question my sexuality. :(:P
