  1. lol Some people like to keep their airsoft "legal"... then again... to be truly legal he should probably paint the front 1 inch of the slide blaze orange too. Just leaving the outer barrel painted orange (which is under the slide most of the time) is a little pointless. LEOs probably wouldn't be able to spot it until they're close enough to actually physically examine it themselves. lambolurker, are you going to leave it that way? Just wondering.
  2. Or in the technical discussion section. A lot of questions go unanswered in the Newbie section.
  3. I was always under the impression that a Hi-flow valve allows more gas to escape which in turns allows for two things: greater power and greater blowback force. Was this incorrect? Because I'd really like to understand more about the significance of this part. Personally I only use green gas in my pistols. If that was the case, would I not benefit from using hi-flow valves?
  4. Wait... You call your girl MEU?
  5. Trasher, that pic is pretty incredible! Nicely done! +1 comin' your way! On another note... PROUD is releasing a new flashhider based on a RS one: The VLTOR M4K Flashhider Just got added to my must buy list. That would go perfectly with my VLTOR M4.

  7. I agree! That's a fine lookin' AR!
  8. Interesting! I wasn't aware of that. I got my info from a book that I read a while back. Can't find the book right now, but this website says something similar to what I was trying to convey: http://www.quarterbore.com/kac/kacffras.html But the point you've brought up seems very valid as well. Thanks for the info!
  9. To expand on that topic, the benefit of having a free float is that the barrel is unaffected by the handguard. With the old system, operators were having to place so many accessories on their RIS handguards (PEQ, vertical hand grips, flashlights etc.) that the handguard was bending ever so slightly which in turn bent the barrel ever so slightly as well. By using a free float hand guard, the barrel is unaffected by the hand guard as the two never come in contact. Therefore, any bending in the hand guard will not adversely affect the barrel.
  10. BTW, this guide helped me a lot while installing my G&P receiver. The guide might not be made for G&P, but it was close enough. * M4 Receiver Installation Guide
  11. I have 3 SR47s and I prefer the AK break too. Might look a little heavy on an Armalite, but to me, it doesn't look out of place on the SR47.
  12. I bought these rubber grips for my 1911 from this seller: link. They're super cheap, but work really nicely. Great traction control. I highly recommend them.
  13. Finally got a chance to install the VLTOR Receiver onto one of my M4s. Nice and simple... the way I like 'em : RS EoTech 552 * No Scope, pic A * No Scope, pic B * Aimpoint mounted * With a RS Dr Optik It still doesn't make any sense to me why G&P can't sell these with the appropriate cuts and sections filed off that every one who buys them will have to do anyway. My appologies for the sheer $#!T quality of these pics. My decent camera is on loan to a friend so I had to make do with my gf's camera.
  14. Yes please! Some pics would be awesome! Do you think either one of these batteries could be converted to work with the RS VLTOR Stock? : * G&P 9.6V 2200mah NiMH * Sanyo 9.6V 1700mAh I ask because I have several of both.
  15. Man, I would love the VLTOR MUR. Actually, I really want the VLTOR M4K upper receiver. But I totally understand why G&P decided to make the standard M4 receiver first as that way they didn't have to generate new molds. The one I have is basically the same receiver as the rest of their M4 receivers except with the VLTOR trades. Most of the excess cost probably goes back to VLTOR for the licensing. Considering G&P have already got the license to make the M4 receiver with VLTOR trades, it is entirely possible that with those channels of communication with VLTOR now being open, a MUR or
  16. Yup, that Troy receiver is made by G&P. Pretty sweet looking, Dave! Are the front and rear sights RS Troy sights? I just received my VLTOR M4 Receiver. It's a licensed VLTOR product, produced by G&P aswell (although on the box it says it's made by VLTOR in the USA, no mention of G&P). The quality is excellent and I'm in the process of installing it. Just have to find the time... -Alex
  17. It's pretty snug in there. Basically the opening at the bottom is as wide as the width of the 1911's slide. So if your silencer is wider than the slide (which it probably is) it most likely won't fit. The CQC Serpa is basically vaccuuformed to the shape of the 1911 (basically: shrink wrapped). You're probably better off using a fabric holster if you have to have the silencer attached. That being said, do you really want to have a silenced pistol holstered? Doesn't seem very "tactical".
  18. The bottom of the holster is open.
  19. That's what I suspected. I had a feeling you bought your 1911 at UnCo. too, as both yours and my 1911s had the exact same issue. How do most other people deal with that issue when installing their PGC kits? Do they super glue or lock-tite the nuts in place before screwing the grips on?
  20. Might be interesting to see it with a short RAS and outer barrel, except have the barrel's flashhider flush with the end of the RAS, or sticking out a bit. Sort of a super snubbed version of the M4. Perhaps like this: The ACOG is nice aesthetically, but the barrel length implies that it's a CQBR of some sort so having a 4x32 scope on a CQB might be counter productive. Throw an EoTech or Aimpoint on that, and it'd be a nice little CQB setup.
  21. Nice tutorial, Lair! Did you ever get those grips off your TM PGC 1911? I had the same problem with mine in that the round nuts that held the grips' screws in, they just spun around and around with the screws preventing me from taking the grips off. I bought it from UN Company pre-installed but I wasn't that satisfied with the job they did and some of the mags wouldn't gas up right so I demanded that the gun and mags be returned at their expense and a full refund given. It finally happened this week but dang, it was like pulling teeth. I still have my two KSC 1911s which I lik
  22. Dude... that isn't your new Zeke lower that you were putting on your LMT MRP was it!?!!
  23. Nice patches! Are those printed? And do you have any info on where you got them made? Thanks!
