  1. Yup, more 1911s is always the way and one day I will run all of them for the sake of it ;).

Still it reminds me that I regret selling my PX4 and need to get a 5-7 but ah well, also want a 4.3 Hi-Capa too.

  2. Ordered a pair of VSR mags off their slow *albatross* website.

Arrived promptly and was told exactly where they were in the order processing line.

Can't fault them one bit, RMs speed at delivering them is a different matter ;).

  3. It is an awful gun, after only about 3-400 shots mine:

    - Had the outer barrel come away from the screwed in block that holds it on, still shot but badly.

    - Had the magazine stick and be a *badgeress* to move.

    - Suppressor wasn't set up right with the slide so all shots went right after about 15-20m.

    - Eventually the trigger spring went so it wouldn't reset and I just gave up with it.

Not worth it to be honest, WE really haven't got that hang of it just yet. Oh and this was on Ultra and not Green / Red or Black gas for that matter ;).

  4. No, I have had the above too, but it is rare and just requires the slide pushing that 1-2mm back into battery. Slide is smooth and the screw used on the safety won't sit any further in to combat it.

Still, not that impressed with how my Makarov has turned out. It is ok for the price but I am still not convinced that WE have improved as much, but this is still better than their older offerings :P.

  5. I have tried all of the above RC but no, the gun is just gradually falling apart as it goes. Sights are always off, the damage to the outer barrel seting area has caused the accuracy to drop and the kick is sparodic though it is only about one shot per magazine that does so. The slide lock is also odd in that it works well some times and badly others, with both magazines that I have.

I have threadlocked a lot of parts that needed it and keep the gun running but in terms of a performer it has near zero use. As it stands I take it to a game when I play indoors as I have a perfect little IWB holster for it that allows me to carry it off hand if needed but even then it has let me down. Still only paid £100 for it new with two magazines (shop discount and points reward scheme) so I don't mind too much :P.

  6. Is that WE any good? :) it kind of 'looks' way too nice to be a marakov but does it perform well?

No, it is not. So far mine is in the 'I am going to break on you but I am not sure when' phase as various load bearing areas have come away leaving more strain on other parts.

The trigger is awful (worse than the real and airgun ones), the barrel and sights have never lined up on my one and the suppressor causes the gun to droop. The slide catch doesn't always work and the safety is finicky.

I keep mine just for playing round the house with and practicing rough handling seeing as it is falling apart anyway ;).

  7. My non-1911 collection (2/3rds of it are HK so it can go here :P):

Though to be honest two of them are evolutions of the 1911A1 and feature similar controls and concepts and the other is a striker fired gun made by a 1911 producing factory that it called a Glock+1911 lovechild by some ;).

  8. True, nothing beats a smooth, straight to the rear pull, about the only thing I have found that gives me the same in a 'modern' gun is my TM USPc and HK45 and they are still not perfect.

And here is my current 1911 pair for indoor games, using the Detonics as an off hand backup which works well:

  9. Must admit I have handled and fired the tan and black ones and they are just really not worth it.

Given that many places are charging the same price as a basic TM pistol I don't see, apart from design preference, why anyone would go for one of these?

The slide action is terrible and the controls do indeed feel loose and not positive at all. Everything about the gun just feels a little off and considering the £135-140 price tag that is not really acceptable.

  10. Dang, poor dog. Only one site I know has a resident pooch and it stays firmly in the safe zone, nestled away in the on site shop / shack where it is 99.9999999% safe (as you never really know but still).

Anyway I just realised I was at a game last weekend and not one camera was out, I feel appalled to know that there was a chance but alas no pictures were taken of me :D.

Must remedy this as fast as possible.

  11. Note that fire support in the UK finally has some but they are un trademarked? I thought all TM pistols had trades or is this another someone has the trades rights and does not want to be sued?

Disappointing though maybe other suppliers will get traded ones in?

    Curlyboy

This does seem a bit odd since the one I got from Wolf had the usual trades and everything. Maybe it is to keep someone happy or they used a different import method that required modification for the gun?

Either way has anyone bought one from them and can confirm? The trades on the TM USPc are so nice it would be a shame to see them carved off for some reason.

  12. The P226 and XDM are much the same, in RS you need to retract the slide to a point but on the Marui it just turns as normal.

At least on the HK45 and USPc you have a point in the slide that you have to push it to in order to strip it ;)
