  1. To be honest i am not sold on the idea of 1911 magwells (or most of the other bits people seem to add to them). It is my dream to own a pair of 1911's with duo tone setup and the regular sights, safties and beavertail of the old model. But money says no as i haven't enough. 'FireKnife'
  2. ChrisWPA: Your Detonics slide sounds like it needs a bit of lubing lol. Mine did that but a spray of silicone and making sure i held the gun level or barrel down when i released the slide meant it returns that bit snappier. 'FireKnife'
  3. Nah, old style notch and speed bump for the win. I mean in airsft it ain't going to put a shot miles out and on target (barely does in the real world) so why the fancy sights. But if it was a Novak or Bomar toss up i would go for the Novak's (lo type like the MEU). Finally, my best backup with me again: 'FireKnife'
  4. Thanks lol, Have to be honest i am the kind of guy that seems to prefer his 1911's old style, that's why i put a one sided, non-extended safety on my MEU and gave it wood grips at one point. There is something about classic 1911A1's that really make me interested, with the odd exception of the ZG-51 Pitbull, the Duo Tone Auto-Ordnance and the Detonics MC1. 'FireKnife'
  5. Oh good god no, those extanded mag well things look awful to be honest. 'FireKnife'
  6. Very nice looking, though not too sure on the smooth Ivory grips, i would say woods or black synthetic would be better. 'FireKnife'
  7. So you took the paint off it (illegal i believe) and changed the grips to those horrible creamy ones? Humm whatever floats your boat i guess. 'FireKnife'
  8. Nice ones Rockdog. May try and get a deal going with a Chrome Detonics owner for the frame and grips from my (soon to arrive) black Detonics with the internals for the chrome equivalent so i can get a two tone Detonics with black slide / silver frame. 'FireKnife'
  9. The thumb safety is a regular 1911 one sprayed black, it has now been replaced with a Detonics one and i will try and get some pics up of it with all the spares etc. 'FireKnife'
  10. Suppressed MEU with nice grips and a single sided safety: Nice and simple, makes a nice noise on 134a. 'FireKnife'
  11. For this one i am planning to leave it at that. But when i get a bit more confidence about stripping down my 1911's i will try at some point to make a black slide, silver frame one with black grips. Rather like the one that was used in Terminator 2 (turns out it is a Detonics company product, or has the parts of one i think). 'FireKnife'
  12. Finally i have got round to this, some pics of my MEU Custom and TRP: This is my attempt at an early model TRP, it is a MEU with single sided safety (will be replaced with a Detonics one soon) and a set of TM 1911 grips. Nothing fancy just a TM MEU with the safety and the hammer pin from a 1911 (soon to be replaced with a Detonics one), a set of real Hogue grips, a Nineball threaded outer barrel and a KA Delta Silencer. And finally one of the Custom in it's own case. It is a Cuban cigar case that gives off a nice aged wood and smoke smell lol. It's not much but
  13. Will have to put some of mine up with the new safety and wood grips too when i get round to it, i have too many extras for one pistol it seems. Ah well it serves me well so deserves it lol. 'FireKnife'
  14. Actually a cheap answer to the Operator kind of pistol could be achieved by putting a set of TM 1911 grips on a MEU then adding a threaded barrel and finally swapping the sights. Ok it's nowhere near perfect but it looks close enough. 'FireKnife'
  15. Nice MEU, anyone know where i can get the Detonics safety on it's own, i have built a custom operator for myself but i just need a different, one sided safety like the Detonics. Will get some pics up when i am back home, especially as it has a new silencer and possubly the new grips now. 'FireKnife'
  16. So all they have done is stuck up two signs saying 'Imperial' and 'Rebel'. Sorry but this is a really poor themed day, you didn't even have ewoks or a Imperial shield Bunker to destroy. To be honest the only picture that makes it what i would call a Star Wars skirmish is the last one. Next time have one side in olive drab with AK stye rifles and the others in black jackets and old black ww2 uniform, at least then it looks a little more Rebel group against Imperial defenders or similar. Sorry but this is just fail. 'FireKnife'
  17. Guessing we will be seeing a review of that then snowman, would be interested to see what you think of it. 'FireKnife'
  18. MEU Description: Think TM 1911 but with better sights, a beavertail, ring hammer and slightly snappier kick. Mine is stock save for a metal outer barrel and shoots fine on 134a with a respectable distance after i set the hop correctly. 'FireKnife'
  19. Well i have seen evidence that shows the silencer required to get a near silent 1911 in the real world causes the slide to not return but it does however make it quiet as their is no slide operation noise, allowing the skide to be cocked again manually and fired rather like a springer. Thus more silent and useful as it only takes one good shot to take down a mark. As for the airsoft models, i think a reasonable length silencer on a 1911 makes a slight sound difference (on 134a) and offers a good look, my MEU has a G&G SS100 on it and never fails to return to battery or lock open on th
  20. Hold the gun like normal, depressing the grip safety, push upwards on the safety catch and pull outwards i think is the answer there. As for the guy lookinf for a threaded barrel for his MEU, try a HK a shop or peruse the internet shops for one, Laylax Nineball and the Tanio Koba make some good threaded ones, will have to get my pics up eventually. 'FireKnife'
  21. Hush Puppy is the nickname for the Mk.22. This is essentially a silenced S&W M39 in 9mm with raised sights to see over the suppressor. It was used in Vietnam by Navy SEALS and by other more clandestine operators in that conflict. Some silenced Sten guns even showed up along side them as the ammo and the suppression where rather similar between the two. As for 1911's not being an Assassin's choice, i'm sorry but what? The power of the .45 (albiet a bit reduced) combine with a weapon that is thin and operates reliably in some of the harshest conditons without fault? Fair enough it
  22. 1911's aren't for silencers and are unreliable?!?! Clearly sir you are mad, as my 1911 and custom MEU look a beauty with their silencers on them and ahve never let me down once. Though your can't be that bad as you have suggested a mass P226 silencer project idea, which to me does sound damn good. All pistols look good with a silencer of the correct length (unless its a Glock which looks at home in a Tupperware Party). 'FireKnife'
  23. Not much of a special one and is up for sale but what the hell: If any one really wants it check out the sale, but will have to get some pics of the modded TM MEU up soon. 'FireKnife'
  24. If your after Officers style grips try ebay, loads on there. 'FireKnife'
  25. Assassin's Custom 1911: Because real hitmen don't use chrome effect. Also my back-up Detonics beside it. 'FireKnife'
