  1. I believe I've posted before on a front-installed FET (in my case, Extreme Fire's SW-AB-LONG). Out of curiosity, where in the stock would you install your FET and how will you run your wires?
  2. U don't tape your inner barrels to create a firm fit into the outer barrel?
  3. Actually, it was TAG themselves that customed the webbing. I called them up to do it. Mind you it's expensive...basically almost double the price of the Banshee (same with the pouches when I asked them to remove the coyote webbing). It's a pity TAG doesn't do this as standard. Their PC and chest rigs would look better without the coyote webbing all over the MC or A-TACS.
  4. You guys can actually get your Banshee customised. This is what I did to mine to change the webbing to A-TACS webbing :- http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/161225-pictures-of-your-plate-carriers/page__st__960__p__2405004#entry2405004
  5. Woops, not seen one of these yet? Have a look at this post :- http://www.tkoverkill.com/showthread.php?tid=618&pid=5970#pid5970 As you can see you just plug it into the BB feed of the hop-up chamber. You just use an allen key to remove them. I don't recommend using pliers or tweezers as you don't wanna damage where the BB feeds in. About modding a real PMag for the Sopmod magazine, here are some pix from Echigoya - mind you they're not cheap at more than USD$100/mag but believe it or not, they sold out here!! Sorry, taken with my iPhone :- 1) sanding down the internal mag
  6. Clarification? I use the Freedom Art Mag Pipe but what's the "Freedom Art Mag" itself? I use the Mag Pipe all the time 'cos I want to use my PMags (and I don't care about the bolt stop feature). The Mag Pipe has an O-ring and has never fallen out of the hop chamber BB feed even when I yank out my PMags. The only cost is a few extra BB's wasted in the Mag Pipe.
  7. It'll be for you, until it breaks . OK sorry, I didn't mean to rub it in...or maybe I did . All seriousness though do enjoy it. Now if only you tried the recoil modded version of the PTW!!
  8. Talking about barrel bases, I don't think this will affect anyone else but if any of you do buy this :- Be careful with the built-in barrel base of this with the Madbull DD AR15 Lite barrel nut. It's actually a little too thick for Madbull nut so I needed to get it milled down the base a little from 4mm down to 3mm in thickness. Megalomaniac, I guess you're talking about this product instead :- If so, when you're talking to ARS, please ask him for the thickness of that base and if it'll be fine with the Madbull barrel nut. Feel free to quote my name in expressing your con
  9. I don't know if this is new or not (and I did read about the Lonex version) but Eagle Force have come up with a metal hop chamber for the Sopmod/SOCOM. I've not seen the Lonex one so I don't know if Eagle Force is a copy of Lonex or it's own version :- https://eagleonlineshop.com/eagleshop/shop/ShopProductDetail.aspx?id=GD-01-07
  10. TK, when you hold your PTW, you'll probably love the hair trigger response. Same with its quick response, and it's solid feel. There is no doubt about that with PTWs. In fact if only you had a chance to try the Tokyo Move custom where they put a TM Recoil Engine equivalent into the PTW, feel/response-wise it is the ultimate Airsoft M4!! I definitely have no doubt about it. However, custom modded or not, it's the longevity and durability of the PTW, at least to my mind, is in question. As in the team I run in Tokyo, there are a few PTW owners. And most (if not all) have had repeated breaka
  11. Forgive me for commenting but I've had a few drinks tonight....however....once AWS releases their Stealth/Raptor equiv for the next gen, what are the benefits do the PTW have over the SOCOM/Sopmod? I must say, aside from the 1:1 specs to milspec M4, the PTW really doesn't have much of an edge over the Stealth-ed/Raptor-ed SOCOM/Sopmod.
  12. So like the 2nd pix. This is actually the original Sopmod. As you can see my cavity here was created for my SW-AB-Long, but yes you could make it longer (but deeper??) for the Lipos :- http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/158786-initial-impressions-of-the-tm-sopmod-m4-aeg/page__view__findpost__p__2298963 I can go checkout the Bumblebee ones out for you again but if I'm not mistaken the cavity there is already narrower/deeper than the stock TM cavity (esp the 16.0" version but that may be too long for you).
  13. Hmmm...actually the RIS II is a lot narrower than the AR15 lite. So I don't think even the nunchuck Lipo will fit in there. You may have to go external PEQ. One possibility is to go for?an outer barrel with cavity (image taken from http://honeybee.militaryblog.jp/e250600.html) :- Jeepers, I just looked at the rest of the Bumblebee/Honeybee site and there's tonnes of other ideas on customising your M4.
  14. So I'm almost there with my Sopmod (can't really call it a Sopmod anymore can I!?!?) facelift. My ambi mag catch/release needs some work :- Externals Echigoya CNC Lower (Magpul Logo done privately/separately) Stock TM Upper Echigoya CNC buffer Magpul UBR (+ option pad) Magpul MIAD Leupold Mark 4 CQ/T Magpul MBUS v1.0 Madbull DD 9" AR15 Lite Magpul AFG v1.0 Echigoya 10.5" Outer barrel (Further shortened) Magpul AAC suppressor Internals Siegetek/RiotSC Gears Tienly GT-40000 motor Extreme Fire/Gandolf's SW-AB-Long AB-FET Flat Hop-Up
  15. So today I've just spent 3 hrs in Echigoya and they resolved my CNC buffer -> CNC lower issue. Basically the thread tolerance was just too tight. So they fixed that up. A few other recommendations :- 1) not to use the brass pin on the selector switch (the thing that clicks you into safe/semi/full) - and replace it with a ball bearing instead 2) the right dummy plastic plate that always points to semi on the right side of the receiver needs to be sanded down or it'll put a tight squeeze on the mechbox (and in turn makes the selector switch/plate integration too tight). 3) the bolt catc
  16. Nothing fancy but need to mod the outer barrel to fit it in :- http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/158786-initial-impressions-of-the-tm-sopmod-m4-aeg/page__view__findpost__p__2298963
  17. Akira, have you Lipo-ed and fetted your setup? If not, try it . At least in my setup, the overall kick isn't solely on the SURUS but the complete setup and combination of the SURUS, Lipo, etc. that gives it a "snappier" feel.
  18. TK, nice buy. Recommend that you find some kind of protector for your 557. Something like this :- http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/product.asp?page=product&id=EOTLENSP Get a thick one too, not the crappy thin ones you find around most other airsoft shops. The one I use is approx 6mm acrylic :-
  19. Looks like the upper won't be ready till next year.
  20. So today I had some issues in fitting the the CNC buffer tube to the receiver. It's weird, 'cos the CNC buffer will fit to the original TM receiver. The original TM buffer fits onto the CNC receiver and naturally the TM buffer fits on the original TM receiver too. But the CNC only fits on the original TM. Another minor point is the width which seems a tiny tad narrower than the TM so the mechbox fit is a little PITA. It'll fit in but the selector is extremely tight. I think I spent most of my evening trying to get that to fit in nicely without messing up the selector (yet I still did :-().
  21. I must say I don't think it's a PITA to work on - the SCAR-L EBB OTOH, different story. As with any any stock TM piston/spring assembly, once you've separated the two for some 3rd party piston (recommend Laylax, don't recommend MagicBox), the spring of this is easier to change than a V2. You only need to remove the buffer tube to change the spring. External quality, I've changed my lower receiver & buffer tube once. It's really not designed for continual dismantling/reassembly - the buffer tube and lower receiver thread wears easily thx a lot to pot metal.
  22. Torque up motor & gears (something like RiotSC's 20:1 would be fine). Don't know about spring but I'm using 1J for Japan laws.
  23. I want to kill this rumour once and for all...there wasn't a barrel wobble issue. It happened to -one- person (and he's a friend of mine). I've talked to eHobby and a Magpul PTS rep and that was an isolated case. It's really a case of someone creating a mountain out of a molehill. Sadly with internet forums if one person were to yell loud enough, it causes widespread panic. Having said that, the ACR had other issues...burnt trigger (go search in AirsoftMechanics about it), selector occasionally needs to be flipped back-n-forth between semi and full, and lousy bucking (which is easily repla
