  1. My mate and I have experienced the same problems with the KA mags! When I got mine, they were stiff as hell to get into the magwell, but after a few days of playing about with them (loading/unloading), the seemed to fit in ok. My mate's done the same thing recently with his JG G3A3, and it seems to be a common fault. He reports that the KA's don't misfeed, rather they double-feed, which leads to accidental jamming sometimes. Our thoughts are that the connection between mag and gun are not quite aligning properly and/or are slightly different sizes, causing these feed issues. As others hav
  2. Mag review update: Ok guys, got a chance to test a few different mags with my Star L85A2 today. First off, the RG (Radway Green) 130rnd metal midcap that came with the rifle - fed flawlessly, has now just about reached fill capacity (spring tension), and was brilliant. Next up, the Star 85rnd plastic M4 mags - again, fed flawlessly and pretty much reach fill capacity. Finally, the AimTop 300rnd metal hicaps - feed problems all day, took forever to wind up and kept randomly falling out of the damn magwell?! The *worst* mags I've ever had the misfortune to use, and that includes the JG G3 hi
  3. You'd be better off with the more traditional 'pyjama' style clothing - longish overshirt with baggy pants Or just the overshirt on its own! Failing that, a cheap alternative would be to wear a faded, bland-coloured grandad shirt. They seem close enough, and if you get the right style, they come up fairly long and with a rounded 'shirt bottom' too Add a Pakol or similar, and you're away!
  4. Yes Mihail, that's the STAR/ARES "Radway Green" (RG) mag for the L85 You can tell because it's slightly different in appearance to other STANAG (read: M4/16) mags in that the indents are rounded at the bottom and have an actual termination point, it has a visibly separate baseplate (plastic as opposed to the metal body) and the body is a gloss black. They should fit fine, although mine has a bit of play in it when inserted into the magwell of my STAR L85. No feed problems thus far though, but the internal spring is damned stiff - only just starting to get near the stated capacity.
  5. Have you tried CA metal mids? AFAIK they work in most AEGs, as I was considering them over the STAR plastic ones, but the cost was too prohibitive for me
  6. I too use the STAR Midcaps - say 110rnd, but expect to get about 70-90rnds in them! Feed fine, with the occassional hiccup, but that's only to be expected with injected-moulded plastic Tight fit in the magwell though, but I think that's a plus, as my RG mag that came with the L85 seems to wobble a fair bit when loaded?! Have got a few MAG midcaps as well, but haven't tested them with it yet - may gave them a go this weekend Also got 2x AimTop hicaps, so will give those a test too. Will post up a quick mag-test review either Sunday night or Monday. I'm not a big fan of hicaps these da
  7. Just FYI, CombatKit gear is available from a few sources in the UK It is damned expensive, but from the reviews I've seen it's pretty much bomb-proof. As for the uniforms, there are bits and bobs on random surplus sites based in the UK, but it's more than likely old pattern gear, and goes for high prices.
  8. That silencer doesn't go with it either... As opposed to the new look of the L85 as I am, that ICS doesn't look too bad, and having seen one in the flesh a while back it's annoyingly good. The ability to take a large battery from the off puts it slightly ahead of my STAR version, and so far the chap that owns the ICS has not had a complaint (which is odd for ICS in my experience!). Will have to get some pics of my L85 at some point - nothing special, just a STAR A2 with original (A1) foregrip, SUSAT on top (GAO version) and a black NSN'd sling.
  9. No longer being part of a specific team, and having a love of the film "Dog Soldiers", I got bored and decided to do a variant on the unit patch from the film for my own purposes. Here's the design: The differences between this and the film one are: The eye shapes have been added (just lines in the film patch), and the dagger has been put the correct military way round (blade up, not down as seen on the film patch). As I haven't worn anything on rank slides before, I decided to see if this could be made up as one, so that I'd have something to wear at skirmishes. After a little searching
  10. People who want something a little different to "Adv Member" etc...?
  11. Top stuff as usual Stuntman!!! You put us all to shame sir
  12. Pic from my last game 2 weeks ago, showing me lobbing a grenade downrange to clear out some enemy from a bunker position (grenade still midair top left of frame!)
  13. Old School Brit kit - unfortunately this was a video-grab, hence the inadvertant blurring/pixellation. However, after playing about with the image in photodraw, this has actually made it look like a period photo So, with the addition of a modded annotation, here's my old school UKSF kit: It's not finished yet, and that was it's first outing last November. Now before anyone asks, that's actually a G3A3 in my hands, not an AK (after looking at it, the mag has blurred making it look AK-ish for some reason!?) LOL! Once I've got more kit, there'll be more pics, but at the mo it's shifting
  14. Doc - if you like the cut of that OpTactical vest, why not get the Warrior one that's similar? - Warrior TMV That's less than £60 (although out of stock other than black atm ) and Warrior stuff is pretty well proven now
  15. From a game in January - I'm on the left: That was before I got my custom PLCE, and Star L85A2, but that setup was actually fairly good.
