  1. Weird coincidence...same thing happened here! I was just going to search for the problem... The new topic button was some picture that looked like a Doctor Seuss character...and the main menu appeared to be the vBulletin rolling eyes smiley...and the question mark post icon became a TellyTubby. (Note I haven't browsed the Web and come across any of these, except the vB smiliey.) I'll try to get a pic up... EDIT: Here we go...
  2. Gallery with comments - not a bad idea. People looking for pictures can just ignore the comments. I don't know much about gallery scripts, but there's probably a mod... I kinda agree that if there's not too much abuse, then you could just leave things be. And let a global mod take care of some of those threads. Or just scan for pictures if it's not a common problem. Character mins are ineffective...to reach the appropriate number of characters, people usually just post something like "Trying 2 get too 50 cahracters!111!" or "...................................." And good lor
  3. The search terms are too short - they need to be at least four letters long. It's a shame, as there aren't even any alternative keywords to search for, and because the site is private, Google can't spider it... *cough cough*
  4. Old thread, but no matter...the spam's only getting worse. Spambots can easily work around the captchas. Each image in common bulletin boards has a known size, and the bots can compare the exact size with the actual code that's displayed. What's better is to create custom fields that you have to enter; say, "Enter anything." The bots probably won't know what to do. Even saying "Enter 'abcde'" will throw them off, as they're not programmed to enter fields that aren't defaults. It might take some sorting through the massive CP, but I believe IPB has the option somewhere. Creating
  5. I actually think the forums should be viewable by the public, if only from an SEO standpoint. Once the spiders can see the actual content, the forums will turn up in many more Google searches (because more content is accessible), more people will view the site, and more people will join. Simple as that. Plus a lot of people don't actually join to see some info as people say, they often just leave. Arnies is currently okay on SEO, but I'm sure it would shoot through the roof with public forums. There's no reason some of the most well-respected forums should be lagging behind some other
  6. I third it. I don't get why people make some sights so difficult to read. It's not that my eyesight is bad, I just don't want to turn up the contrast on my monitor to five times what it is right now and still not be able to read it. This is a great skin, as it's got easy access to tons of different useful things without being in-your-face about it.
  7. Nice, I like it. A good bit faster, but more important is that the "too many connections" error probably won't come up for a while...
