  1. I posted this in the newbie section yesterday but I didnt get much help.

I hope you guys dont mind me addiing it here as I am really keen to get some expert advice!

After many years of ignorant bliss adding to my pistol collection I finally purchased my first AEG with the intention of taking up skirmishing.

I am about to buy an Aimpoint replica with a cantilever style mount to add to a CA M15A4 Carbine.

However my question regards flip up rear sights.

I understand these are used as back up if the Aimpoint fails and so you can still use your iron sights but I am unsure of which flip up sight I should purchase.

Can someone please recommend something suitable for the job, that is good quality and not too expensive?

I spent several hours at work (:waggle: naughty, naughty!) trailing through previous topics but I am still unsure.

    Thanks for your time guys,

    Chris

  2. I am looking to buy a GBB SMB, and wanted to see if I could find any info about the 'HFC T77'.

When i do a search for these 2 words, I am told that nothing is found.. But I KNOW for sure that there are posts with these words, for example in the "Airsoft Direct" forum, who sell these.

So, as a test, I tried "T77" and found nothing.. Then I tried "HFC" and still found nothing.

Now this is getting curious, as there MUST be posts with the word "HFC" in..

Then I tried picking a random word which was "GAS" And again, found nothing.

Next I tried "Propane" (only because I know I had a post with that word) and it found it.

The common denominator is that the words I am searching only have 3 letters.. Could this be a problem?

    Do you know whats wrong??

    Jon

I have this problem myself and I have heard of other members in the same boat.

I would love to know if there is a way to search for things with 3 letters.

    Chris

  3. I apologise if this has been suggested before (I did look) but it would be great if you could choose a page number when looking at picture threads. The 1911, Glock, Sig and Armalite picture threads sometimes have hundreds of pages. I like looking through these topics but it is very time consuming to look through all the pages in one go. What I normally do is read the pages in batches of 25/50. So when I go back to the topic it would save a lot of time if I could select 'read from page 10, 25, 50, that kind of thing. I regularly read other forums that have this function. Perahps it is possible but I am too stupid to realise! If so, could someone tell me how to do it.

I hope that all makes sense :P

  4. Please excuse my ignorance if this is a stupid question but is there a good website for pictures of Special Forces in action?

Perhaps there are even some books that someone could be recommend?

    Thanks,

    Chris

  5. thanks for the info. I certainly agree with the appearance factor. Ive had it a few months now and unlike the tm (which becomes very sratched and shiny) this has kept its touch. Ye my hammer has a flimsy sound to it when 'dry firing' but performed ok otherwise. Ill keep you updated with my team mates one and how his lasts on green. If you are worried otherwise then use Predator gas...its a nice inbetween of 134 nd green. cheers.

note im also selling mine so if mags/gun is wanted for spares/project pm me (prefer gun to go first b4 i sell mags).

    Pete,

Do you know roughly how many round you put through your pistol before your trouble?

Also did you purely use it with green?

Finally, did you lube and clean it regularly?

It will be interesting to see how your friend's performs. Make sure and keep us updated, hopefully the difficulties you encountered are uncommon.

It would be ashame if KSC have failed on the internals after making such a good job of the external appearance.

    All the best,

    Chris

  6. I received my KSC Sig Sauer p226 yesterday from WGC.

Unfortunately I have not had a chance to fire the pistol properly but going purely on appearance at the minute, I am quite impressed.

The finish is excellent with no visible seem lines. It is not clearly shown in pictures but KSC have managed to get a metallic looking finish which is very nice. It certainly does not look like a lump of plastic.

The grips are also excellent. They have a very nice texture and are similar in appearance to the real steel grips.

I did feel that the hammer was slightly flimsy, so it will be interesting to see how that holds up.

I don't own the TM version so it would be wrong of me to compare them directly, however I have read many reviews and the vast majority accuse it of being "plasticky" with "ugly seem lines", these are accusations that I don't think you could throw at the KSC version. The TMs problems can obviously be overcome though with the many metal kits and the wide choice of after market parts available.

Unfortunately there is very little in the way of after market parts available for the KSC. All I can currently find is metal slide and a recoil spring. This is dissapointing as ultimately it may contribute to it's downfall.

Performance is where it really counts though and again it appears Marui are well ahead. We only have a few performance reports regarding the KSC version but I know Handsome Pete on this forum has experienced difficulties after using green for a while, where as the TM version is lauded for its reliability and performance.

I will put my new toy through its paces over the weekend and the months to come and I will keep you updated on the results.

    All the best,

    Chris

  7. I just received mine from Un Company last week.

As everyone has said it is a good looking, solid little pistol.

However, I am having a few problems with mine.

When I first got the pistol I fired off a few rounds and everything seemed fined. Today I stripped the pistol to see how everything works and when I put it back together is when my problems began. Unfortunately every few rounds is now misfiring.

The bbs are either flying out the ejection port or getting stuck just at the entry point of the barrel.

Also the magazine is not pushing home properly anymore. It is getting stuck just before it is fully in place. I have inserted the magazine with the slide back to see if it is catching on anything but it is pretty hard to see. It will go in but I have to move it about a bit before it will push home.

I have never had any problems like this with any of my pistols so if someone could give me some advice I would be extremely grateful.

    Many thanks,

    Chris

    Edit.

I should have posted this in the WA Issues topic. Sorry.

  8. BAD NEWS: Used it today. Put about 3 magazines through it on ICS Green Gas. Earlier in the week i tested it with green and it was playing up abit (not blowing the hammer back/slide sticking). Used it again today and had similar problems. However regardless of the green gas, a small pice of plastic around the mag release has snapped off meaning the mag release falls out. Its a right *fruitcage* pain in the *albartroth*. Im hoping a piece of tape will do the trick. If anyone is interested in purchasing let me know (spares/project)...this maybe up for sale in an hour or so!

My team mate however has had a very different story. He recieved his KSC 226 and used it on green first thing today and its shot like a dream with great range etc. Maybe mine being one of the first out may have had flaws and lacked lube...i dont know.

Side by side to the TM they look nearly identical (another team mae just recieved his TM one). Sad to say but after mines performance today i think the tm beats it in terms of guts and reliability but loses slightly in the looks imho.

    cheers.

    mmm...thats good news <_<

I ordered one from WGC last week and it will be with me tomorrow.

Not what I wanted to hear.

    Chris

  9. I realise real wood grips don't have inserts but these grips appear to be designed specifically for airsoft 1911s. (I have researched various retailers)

I'm sorry to upset you regarding the posts.

    All the best

    Chris

  10. Korppi,

Could I please ask a question regarding your CAW grips?

Did they come with metal weight inserts?

I would like to fit them to my TM 1911A1 but I dont want to lose any weight on the pistol.

    Many thanks

    Chris

  11. I am planning to make the KSC Sig P226 my next purchase but I am a bit concerned about the lack of aftermarket parts.

Does anyone know if this is normal for a KSC new release? Perhaps it just takes a bit longer for them to get to market.

I really prefer the KSC to the TM version but TM definitely wins in regards to parts available.

    Chris

  12. hkssr20det,

Thanks for the reply regarding the grips. I'm definitely going to try and get hold of some real grips for my Beretta.

By they way, your silver 84s looks amazing. I really like the wooden grips with the silver frame. You should be very proud!

    Chris

  13. hkssr20det,

Can I please ask how easy it was to fit the wooden grips onto your Berettas? In particular to the black Pefect Version.

I have one and I wouldnt mind fitting some new grips to it for a change.

    Thanks,

    Chris

  14. Handsome Pete,

Could I please ask how you feel about the KSC Sig now?

It has been a month or so since your review and I would be very interested to hear if you are still happy with it.

I wasn't that impressed with the TM version but I am keen to add a Sig to my collection so I am seriously considering the KSC.

    Cheers,

    Chris.
