The main reason was twofold: 1. Cost. By the time I bought barrels at wholesale prices, put them in the lathe, packaged them in tubes, paid extra for shipping, etc. I was making almost no money for quite a bit of work. 2. I got the barrels through a friend of mine who owned the local airsoft shop who was kind enough to order the barrels along with those for his shop. He recently passed away as a result of a brain tumor. The v2 bolt doesnt have a "piston" per se. The seal is part of the bolt and remaking the bolt was going to make it a costly part. I knew as soon as I initiall

We aren't doing barrels at the moment. Its a long story but the plan at this point is to not do barrels again until we can make them affordably for the entire airsoft market, ie AEG, GBBR, Pistol, etc. It costs too much to buy and then modify existing barrels and making from scratch requires very high volume to justify the up front costs. So we opt to wait until we find the right moment to justify upfront costs. Now that the site is live and updated its safe to assume that if it isnt on the site, we dont sell it.

Just got the second revision of the mag loader prototype done yesterday. Works an absolute treat. Can easily load a full mag using a standard loader. Ill have and ETA on these early this coming week. But should be just a couple of weeks.

We tested the v1+ with as many configurations as we could. Everything was compatible. The v2 bolt catch whe being shaped differently engages just fine. The v2 buffer will sit a hair further back in the buffer tube but functionally performs no different than the v1 buffer.

As long as the rod goes through the guide hole in the tower and then in the bolt cup you should be good. The piston has some wiggle room as far as its location is concerned.

Any pics hut? For those who may not have seen the whole shebang.

Not likely. Because they're made from solid bar they don't have floor plates.

FYI: we started on stanag conversions and also billet mag loaders designed for use with speed loaders. We hope that both of these will be 1-2 week projects. I'll post photos of the prototypes soon.

Appreciate the feedback gents. A drop in hop-up fix would be great, especially for those outside of the USA who can't send them to us for mods or don't have access to the tools to do it themselves. Ill have to sit down and think about this some more. Certainly this is a challenging part to come up with. The geometry isnt machining friendly and the space requirements are very tight. But lots of things are possible. We had a meeting around here today to discuss magazines. I think we'd like to offer a STANAG conversion for existing KJW magazines. I don't think licensing is in the card

Lots of good input guys. Thank you. Ill respond in more detail to your individual points when Im not tending a cnc machine at the same time. One quick question though: How many mags do you guys own? If we had an option to convert your mags to STANAGs would that be of interest? Or would you rather buy full up magazines? Obviously cost would be lower on a conversion. For now lets assume both were GG/Propane mags just like the current KJW ones. We can talk co2 another day as its a much more complicated project.

With the Carriers now finished we are looking forward to some future products for the KJW. Anybody have any suggestions of what you think would: A. Make you enjoy using your rifles more. B. Help people want to switch to the KJW over the WA-a-like rifles.

The bolt cups we source from KJW Taiwan. Also a few of the springs. Everything else we machine here in Arizona at our own facility. We are including our new band with the complete carriers. These will be available individually for sale this week and we will always have a supply so we can get them to players in need of them quickly. Our belts are polyurethane much like the stock belts but have a slightly different durometer (hardness) than KJWs version. We have stretched the bands to 300% and further before the welded seam fails. Really a great belt.

We are including loctite 272 red with upgrades and using the same in assembly for completes so looseness shouldn't be an issue on the production models. Of course, we recommend users wait several hours after assembly to use the carrier to allow the loctite to cure fully.

Yes, a few small changes were made: - small shape changes on a few areas for better fit and wear reduction - the back of the carrier is solid to increase weight to be almost in line with the stock v1 carrier.. The countersink for the bolt that holds the piston on was created a different way using specialized tooling.

OK guys, here is the big announcement (finally!) The Cradle Airsoft V1+ bolt carrier will be going on sale this coming Saturday, December 15 at 3:00 P.M. GMT. We have limited stock on hand at the moment so don't miss it! Web link: http://www.cradleairsoft.com/shop/v1bcg Shipping of the items will occur early next week as we assemble all the carriers in the order the purchases are received. Two versions are available: Complete – $160 - This is the best option if you have a Version 2 KJW M4 or want a complete spare bolt carrier. This is a drop in bolt carrier and requires no as

Lets just say I was the one that showed frog the pictures. That should be hint enough... Better start digging in your couch cushions for some change cause we are single digit days wise away from release. I will say though that everyone is making me feel like you all wanted mags more!

A couple of thoughts for you AG: 1. I haven't seen a dramatic increase in accuracy on barrels in excess of the standard 363mm M4 carbine length. You might consider going with a barrel that doesnt quite reach out to the end of your outer barrel. 363 might be a tad short in your case but a 410ish might be an acceptable compromise. Going from a stock 363 to a tightbore 363 yields about 30 FPS gain. The actual accuracy effects of a tightbore are hotly debated by groups of players. Might a slightly looser barrel in a longer length get you the accuracy results you want without the FPS bump?

The Cradle Reducer will go sub 1J no problem. A BCG Update: The carriers are done being machined. I finished them up on Saturday so they go to anodize this week. Originally I didnt want to ship anything until all the new fancy packaging was in place but if we cant get everything 100% by mid November with the finer points of the packaging Ill probably start accepting orders anyways. Sorry for the delay in any case. Please try to remember that Cradle is owned by an engineering/industrial design firm that we have to keep running on the day to day to keep my and my partner's families af

We wont be taking pre-orders this time around. We considered it but it'll be easier on us to keep track of everything the regular way. What we will have though is a way to sign up on the bolt carrier's product page to receive a notification when they are up for sale. So everyone should get a notification that signs up.

The complete kit comes with a band, the upgrade does not. However, they will be available for purchase separately.
