A heads up to the community here: Our new website will be live in a few days (Wed-Fri). Im just finalizing some shipping configuration stuff. Site will be reachable through our regular web address (www.cradleairsoft.com) Among the items on the site will be the new bolt carrier though the stock levels will still say "out of stock" for another few weeks. The carriers are in production over here so we are entering the phase where we are waiting for anodize and packaging to take place. Details as to pricing and what comes with each kit will be completely viewable, of course. T

Alex, the solution for your reducer issue is easy: use the small o-ring from the stock valve rather than the one included with the reducer. It allows more gas to flow by.
-
Try a swap of your x-rings. If the problem persists after the switch it may be an out of spec loading nozzle. Ive seen a few recently that were definitely molded a tad undersize which can cause the issue you describe.
-
Everything is the same size. Are you lubricating it properly?
-
Its no problem. Ill need to check on my spam filter then as I dont usually miss messages.
-
Tim, I just sent you an email. It usually takes me 48 hours on the weekend to reply.

VSR isn't going to fit. AEG is easier to mod for sure but probably still requires a lathe unless you are super handy with a dremel or file. Ive only seen a few breaks like this. The causes could be numerous and aren't well documented so any *fix* is going to be a guess at best. Your best bet is to get a new upper from KJW and keep using it like you always have. FWIW, I think the break is a result of a pot metal of dubious alloy upper with small inclusions. Its a material issue. They could fix it by beefing up the tab or using a better material.

KJW lost their english speaking sales staff a few months back it seems. They have hired new people as of last week I believe. Directing mail towards the email swishy pointed out will make sure you mail makes it to the general inbox and then to the new sales staff. Using the emails with the old sales staff names in the address will get you a whole lotta nothing.

Testing is going good. Waiting on one more report from a tester. Should probably start cutting carriers next week. The stuff I use on the TDC screw is called Vibra Tite VC3
-
Glad to hear you got it sorted out.
-
Charging handles are something we discussed in our last meeting. Its certainly something we can do but it will have to wait until the carriers are done. We cant support too many concurrent R&D projects for Cradle while we have the work load we do for our other business.
-
Testers are testing. Once we get results back we can incorporate any changes and start manufacturing. We machine these in house so its a quick process.

Green loctite is a good choice as well as a product called Vibra Tite VC3 thats used on most accessory bolts on Harleys. The Vibra Tite is what I send them out with but a bit more than I apply might be necessary. Their product info: Will not harden like traditional threadlockers Dampens and absorbs vibration Works with metal, wood, plastic* and more Fasteners are easily adjusted, removed and reused Works on fasteners of any shape or size, from tiny eyeglass screws to large construction bolts Works with internal or external threads So far I prefer it for things that have to be frequen

No sweat man. Give everything a once over as I outlined and if you still aren't getting the results you were hoping for we can take a look at some more detailed issues that might play a role in rare cases. And just to be clear: set the hop wheel to the off position and then use a 1/16" allen wrench through the hole in the top to increase/decrease your hop. Counter clockwise reduces hop. Clockwise increases. When increasing hop you will eventually get to a point where everything starts to feel quite tight. Stop at that ponit and go no further. That means the hop arm is fully down and
-
Couple of notes for you: 1. Yes, removing the shrink was a great idea. It doesnt add anything once the mod is done. 2. Set your hop wheel so that the arrow is pointing right down the line of the barrel. (The off position) 3. Check to be sure that your hop rubber isnt soaked in oil and that your barrel is clean. The whole point of the TDC mod is twofold - First that the grub screw applied pressure straight down on the arm rather than cocking it to one side like the hop wheel system does. Second is that it more finely tunable. Also, what wight BB are you using? I would sa

Maybe in the future we can take a look at doing something like that provided there is enough demand. These carriers, however, wont come with a charging handle. Ive got a question for the group here: Has anybody tested Version 1 carriers in Version 2 guns? Did you have any issues? I know Hut posted last week that he had some sort of issue with his V1 carrier in a V2 gun. I have a V1 rifle with a set of V2 parts (catch and buffer) we use for testing. I haven't seen any unusual wear or interferences between any of these parts. In fact I took detailed measurements of the V2 catch vs the

Landa, The bolt is roughly based on the V1 yes. Its quite a bit different in some areas and very similar in others. We tried to take the best parts and keep those and address a few issues along the way. Yes, these will be v2 gun compatible. The V2's have a different bolt catch and buffer. Its not my understanding that the mags are any different. Someone correct me if Im wrong but Ive only ever seen and handled one type of magazine. We have testers testing the carriers extensively in a variety of gun configurations so we can identify any incompatibilities and fix them before release.

CJ, When I said piston cup I meant loading nozzle. Poor clarity on my part. The nomenclature on the board gets a little confusings sometimes as well all seem to have different names for different parts. We have inteded for the carriers to work with our piston only. The exception would be owners with some of the very early V1 guns that either had serial numbers or were produced in the following 4-6 months after serialized guns were made. These guns had pistons without the 4 tangs on the backside for alignment. We handle alignment with a flatheat bolt instead on the new carrier so the piston

First 7 prototypes. Testers will be getting these shortly. Ill keep any further news/info forthcoming.

From the album: KJW Carriers
-
Lock back distance is identical to the V1.
-
We can ship to wherever. I dont think customs should have an issue with these but we can probable do a disassembly in special circumstances.
-
Yes, and the cup comes included with both models. This is the stock KJW cup and we will be stocking replacements as well.

Yeah, we have a very close idea of what our costs are going to be and what we hope to retail it at. I still need final pricing on a couple of parts from a supplier or two and would prefer to keep pricing close to my chest until I get final POs taken care of.
