  1. The grained look you want can be done by clamping the slide to a flat surface, then clamping an angled bar parallel to the direction you want the grain to go. Stick the sandpaper (I used 800 for the grain without water) to a flat block (which needs to be longer than the slide) and keep it against the angled bar as you move it along the slide with gentle pressure. Every 10 strokes or so, stop and carefully lift the block straight up off the slide to avoid extraneous scratches and brush off the dust from the sandpaper with a toothbrush, then repeat until the grain becomes uniform. 2. If you're definitely talking about the G&P one then it comes with a slide, barrel, recoil guide and spring and two spare blowback chamber springs (which were very useful for replacing the springs in my G18c which were mangled by the shyster I bought it from). Here they cost from £30 - £40 depending on the shop which is quite cheap for a complete kit. The trades on the slide have the correct wording but they're incorrectly sized and positioned and are shallower than they should be. If you're looking to make an accurate collectable display piece then get the more expensive parts. C
  3. It has trades but they're not accurate, the barrel chamber even has the numbering for the G18c on it instead of the G17. As a hardwearing slide it's excellent but on initial fitting it does need careful sanding under the top of the slide where the barrel chamber moves under it when you pull the slide back as it's very tight. KWA is the same as KSC. Chris.
  4. Humbrol enamel paint applied into the recesses with a toothpick. Chris.
  5. Thanks, hard work but eventually worth it. It's purely a display piece now it's finished, I'm not going to risk damaging it, especially since it's one of the older models with all the correct trades on it. Chris.
  6. Thanks, I love revolver sights on autoloaders and I'm really enjoying the aesthetic effect it has on the gun, plus aiming's much easier than with the old black on black sights. Chris.
  7. This G18C was in a dreadful condition when I received it from the shyster I bought it from. The idiot had tried to respray over the original paint of the metal slide and barrel without degreasing the surface first so it was covered in sticky patches, the mechanism was filthy and barely had any lubrication, even the blowback springs were pinched and badly deformed between the engine block and the slide. After much hassle it's now cleaned up with a brushed, grained and polished finish to the metal slide and barrel. Chris.
  8. 6" SVI limited with a Guarder stainless steel 45 Infinity chamber, Prime aluminium slide which was an S.O.B. to fit and had poorly finished sides so I grained and re-polished them, stock hammer properly finished and polished, white dots recessed into the rear sight blade, and finally the front sight is from my defunct Tanaka Ruger Super Redhawk. Chris.
  9. Hooray for improved build quality ! Now if they would release the model 10 with the heavy barrel or as the 64 stainless... Better yet, if Tanaka release this with even better build quality I'll worship them like a religion : Chris.
  10. Tanaka doesn't make a S&W Anaconda, Marushin make a Colt Anaconda. Wolf has some of its details wrong.
  11. Hmmm that is a poor fit, the guy I bought my Umbrella magnum from also included real steel Hogue monogrips with were very snug with no gaps. Mind you I still find the ones Tanaka supplies with it's revolvers to be softer and more comfortable, and obviously an even better fit which is why I wish they'd released the M66 with them. Also there is no 6.5 inch M66 available yet, otherwise I would've definitely bought that instead. Chris.
  12. Had similar problems with my wa svi 6" ltd; poor castings, uneven paintwork, loose slide & frame fit, leaky mag, inconsistent shots, etc. etc. etc. After spending hours smoothing and tuning it I pretty much gave up when I realised it wasn't going to get any better without further investment. I now use it to prop up a table leg and as a reminder never to never again buy an overexpensive wa POS.
