  1. That sounds alot better than the first batch ones i played with, which had absolutely awful gas efficiency - not able to do a full auto mag dump and massive cool down in less than ten rounds.
  2. I had an odd issue last game where all 7 of my mags developed leaks at the bottom seal. Given that so far I haven't had any issues otherwise I'm not too upset, but it was a bit of a to say the least. Going to reseal them as soon as I can, and check if it's the o ring or the magazine wall that needs replacing.
  3. That was without the hammer buffer. I assume the previous owner gave the gun a bit of a hammering. Right now my concern is getting the power down to a reasonable level. With a Madbull 6.03 and a PDI w-hold its doing 1.7j, which is just a tad hot for CQB, even in Hong Kong.
  4. I picked up a second hand AKSU the other day, and true to form after one or two mags the hammer broke, though around the axle this time, not the usual place. Dropped a haesphestus hammer set in there and it fit like a dream. Doesn't catch on the trigger box either, as far as i can tell. I plan on getting a lct ak104 front-end and a we pmc barrel and making myself a GBB ak104 with a full bolt travel.
  5. I run mine with a tiny bit of silicone oil on the bolt carrier. Seems to be ok.
  6. I've been playing with the idea of getting one of these for a while. As far as I can see so far, the ratech steel parts are a bit pants, hmm?

    WE P226 R

The trigger/hammer assembly on the KJW is made of metal, but it's not steel. It's pretty hard wearing though, I've run a lot of rounds through it and no issues so far. The WE trigger/hammer assembly is made of some sort of pot metal but is much lighter than the kjw/TM parts.

    WE P226 R

By the way guys, the WE P226/228/229 all have the same curvature on the top of the slide. This is incorrect. The real 226/228 has a more pronounced curvature than the 229, which has a more 'boxy' slide. WE seem to have used the same extrusion mold for their sig line, so the WE 226/228 all have a boxy 229 style slide. Hence the trouble fitting the WE 226 into holsters. I've given up on my WE P226, it just doesn't shoot as nicely as my KJW does. The only thing it has over the KJW is the slide is lighter than the KJW (despite being thicker...) and it more reliably locks back if I rapi
  9. Newest project gnu is based on a VFC E series. Holy *suitcase* those barrel nuts on the E series URX-a-likes are tight. I ended up having to cut mine off the barrel.
  10. OT: The VFC G36s are the best GBBrs that VFC make. But they still chew nozzles like no tomorrow and the feed lips are made of cheese. Also the hammer spring is too strong and needs to be unhooked from one side of the hammer (quick and reversible mod) to allow full auto to work properly.
  11. I held and fired one of these the other day. 28C ambient on greengas with 0.2g bbs. Not impressed, really. It's lighter than the TM. Noticeably lighter, even fully loaded. The plastic quality seems cheap to me, especially compared to the wonderful job VFC did with their G36 GBBrs. The detailing is nice, the trades are nice and the flip up sights are nice. It's also quite nice in the hand, more comfortable than the TM (mainly because I have enormous gorilla hands). The magazine is bigger than an Mp5 mag, it's quite a chunky monkey. Which is confusing, because the cooldown is
  12. It's a lot less comfortable than my Fencing-Mask style mesh mask, and it interferes with my cheekweld a lot more, but yes, it does look the business.
  13. Jokes about Aberdeen etc etc hurr durr One from me at a small indoor CQB game:
  14. Aaand now I know what my next build is going to be, cheers. Sincerest form of flattery and all that.
  15. The M1911 will have more parts available for it, but I'd say they perform fairly similarly. Speaking of which, I found a fix for the inner barrel and outer barrel fit issues - a single wrap of electrical tape around the barrel, right up at the muzzle end. The CZ75 also fits into a M1911 holster quite handily - my SERPA locks it in no problems. Also, Skarclaw, I happen to have two brand new in box CZ75s, with two Co2 Magazines each, with Falcon tightbores and hop-up rubbers. *shameless plug*
  16. I'm working on something that could solve it. Until then, though, here's how she looks now:
  17. Can't you guys clip a few coils off the spring?
  18. Just an add on to this: I've ended up R-hopping my CZ75 and cutting down the hammer spring to use green gas effectively. She also has some real steel wood grips installed and it looks fiiiiine. I'm still working on solving the sloppy inner/outer barrel fit.

    DMRs

Replace the selector to lock it to semi auto, first off. Barrel wise, I'd go for a 6.05mm tightbore for accuracy. I have several 6.05mm tightbores in AEGs and they will very slightly outperform 6.03mm tightbores with regards to accuracy. You have two choices - Prometheus ASH barrels (coated brass) and PDI 6.05mm barrels (stainless steel). The PDI will be more expensive, but more stable and perform better - though how much better versus the increase in cost is the pertinent question. The Prometheus ASH is cheaper and easier to cut for an ER-hop, if you want to go down that route. IIRC t
  20. SRC MP5 with the FE kit. Has a motor alignment issue at the moment due to the grip angle, but I'm working on a fix.
  21. There is almost none at all. You'd have to really mill out the inside of the grip and it'd end up wafer thin, and THEN you may be able to fit a small "stick of gum" lipo with bullet connectors. A better solution may be to 3D print a new grip, slightly oversized, with enough room to fit a battery.
  22. I played with the idea of a sliding stock and a battery sling, but I decided I wanted the three point H&K sling, so I ended up with a full stock. On the plus side, it lets me fit a large brick lipo with enough current discharge. Short stroked 13.1 ratio gears and the stock SRC neo motor. I've yet to chrono it, but I'm aiming for around 40rps at 1J.
