Nice guide, would probably apply to more than just this wooden bit of furniture. If you told me to imagine an AK, I'd think of it with the wood a lot like this, but a bit dinged up. An AK's not an AK without going through some hardships. I thought coat 2 looked alright, 3 is probably where I would stop.

If anyone knows, could they please answer: How does the price of the CYMA compare to the AGM/KART's? In the States, both of the current clones are about $125 dollars shipped, but getting it from rsov is significantly more expensive? Will the price match more evenly once it starts getting into US shops?

I've seen the heat shields in brown and black, but they're both listed as plastic. My main issue with the M14 is that the plastic for the heat shield just looks and feels cheap. From this review, it seems the new TM M14 SOCOM uses some better plastic.

 

So basically, my choices are either get the metal heat shield or try to find this one.

Anyone know where the new heatshield can be purchased from, separately? Getting a SOCOM just for that shield isn't appealing to me. :/

For those vents, couldn't you just put some black cloth or even wire mesh to block them from inside?
