    WE XDM

Parts arrived. Surprised how fast - 9 days from date of order. Anyway, now fitted with RA Tech steel outer barrel Wii tech aluminium loading nozzle and stainless guide rod. All parts were for the TM, but were a drop in fit.

    WE XDM

Well, I'm a steel / metal slide guy through and through. I know TM's are pretty good guns, but I really struggle with plastic slides! I think I'm getting to the stage where I need to pull the trigger on a TM - just unsure of which one atm. May well be the HK45 in fact - but would have a metal slide fitted a bit sharpish..

    WE XDM

Well if mine runs like that I'll be happy. Is that you in the vid?

Nice one, I may have made a good decision then. Did you get the standard or power up version? I ordered the power up.

    WE XDM

Thread revival alert...... Thought I'd upgrade mine, although they are still ok. Just ordered cnc aluminium loading nozzle, stainless guide rod, reinforced sear and RA Tech steel outer barrel. Will update when they arrive and are fitted. Anyway guy's, as it's been a while - how are yours holding up so far?
  6. I don't necessarily agree. I've upgraded many gbb's in the past for others and myself. Especially replacing the hammer, sear and valve knocker with a steel equivalent. The only effect changing those particular components ever had, was to make the gun more reliable....
  7. I think you may be missing my point.. I'm not saying make the entire gun from steel. Cast alloy works perfectly well in certain areas and applications. But, I don't think the hammer / sear or valve knocker should be made of it. As I said, it wears too quickly and does not really have the tensile strength for these components. Hence valve knockers snapping, hammer / sear wearing which causes random full auto etc. The hammer to sear engagement is in affect an area of safety. If it's worn, as you guys know the gun can go full auto, or you can get a very light trigger with a short pull,
  8. I've not yet heard of an issue with the guide rod, but Wii tech and firefly do an upgrade part for that. I have the WE version and have had no problems yet. I've compared mine against my mates TM version and I have to say I prefer the WE. For one (imo) the WE frame seems better quality, more solid and nicely finished. With regard to other parts though, I think that ALL gbb manufacturers are guilty of using poor materials in certain areas, Marui included. For example, hammers / sears and valve knockers should simply not be made from cast zinc alloy (pot metal). It wears quickly and has lit
  9. Nice, You just gotta love M14's........

    Very nice buddy..
  11. My new toy.. Tanaka SAA H/W. Loving this thing and just can't put it down....
  12. Hi, The paint is nicely applied with almost an RS look, as the XDM. It seems to hold up reasonably well for what it is. It's not wearing fast on the outer barrel or rotating breech at the moment. In saying that, it is what it is...Few manufacturers of either airsoft or air pistols seem to use a very durable coating (adds to the cost!!) I epoxy coat pistols in my spare time for people anyway (which is very tough - harder than Duracoat) - so if and when mine wear, I'll just coat them. The gun itself is pretty good, very solid and seems to have good tolerances. Kicks like a mule. Yeh, q
  13. Finally got one of these today. I didn't realise until I got it that they seem to have lost any trades now. Never mind, I still like it. Seems like a good solid pistol.
  14. That SAI is kinda nice actually. I like the use of the tapered barrel.
  15. I hate stippling with a passion, but you've done a good job. Although the RS often has them, I still try to remove cast lines though.
  16. Cheers buddy, I'll look into it...
  17. Interesting. What are these "power up shells" not heard of them??. If they can add more weight I'd be interested. Are they readily available?
  18. Webley seems ok so far, but not my cuppa. I'd just love a full metal Smith 586 in 4".. http://picturearchive.gunauction.com/4241203238/9889012/img_9420.jpg_thumbnail1.jpg
  19. Yeh, It is a real shame about the metal kits (or lack of..) Maybe one day the likes of WE might make some full metal clones? As stated though, they could have used the heavy weight abs like WA used sometimes.
  20. Good review, I can never really make my mind up on these. I like revolvers, but as I used to shoot RS (when the nanny state still allowed us....) I really struggle to get on with anything light weight. I think I would have to actually handle one before buying. How is the pawl on TM revolvers? Seems a weak point on many rep revolvers unfortunately.
  21. Nice, I think a set of wood grips would set that off a treat.

    Smith&Wesson

    Shame. WA am bestest...
  23. I do like that Centurion... Are Centurion kits available for the TM 92F? I've also got a soft spot for the TM Tacmaster, but I'm not keen on all plastic pistols. Is there a metal conversion kit for that? Sorry, but I've been out of this for a bit and my googling skills are lacking these days...
  24. Al, It's a clone, but the quality and finish was pretty good. I had two, but sold them both. Very comfy to use and quite imposing in the flesh.
  25. I prefer SA anyway - the nice short trigger pull..
