  1. The real steel upper handguard i received was rather low quality and does not match very will with the lower. Will fit it tonight and post some pics for you. Tryed to take some nicer pictures but my brain not in the game today and rather impatient for this kinda thing.
  2. Both are from vfc, and Grim my AIMs come about because of your wonderful pictures i fell in love with it because of this thread, i was finally able to source a retailer that would ship the vented handguards internationally. http://www.floridagunworks.com/
  3. Thank you im glad you liked it. some more pics this time of my aks74n just finished fitting the plum handguards.
  4. My ak parts finally turned up from the US, spent the afternoon fitting the real steel lower and upper handguards.
  5. I believe the AKM mags are simply the updated bakerlite design for the 7.62*39.
  6. The bipod can be mounted both ways round and i;ve seen it mounted both ways round just really down to personal preference, the silencer im using is the 'G&P M4 KAC QD Silencer with SR16 Flash Hider' http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?i...C_cat_Silencers .
  7. I really like it showen, i've been aiming for the same for some time, i really liked the g36k like this when i came across it one day on the militaryphotos forum im still waiting myself correct handrail to come thought.
  8. mag and vfc work fine, where as my star midcaps needed me to add about 1mm of packing to the mag catch to get them to feed well, there the only 3 brands i have access to at the moment, but the mag is the main sticking point im still ###### that vfc have not done a midcap for this
  9. After a bit of use it gets worse there seems to only be a small lip there and its easy to where th mag down to a level that it will drop out, i have not had any problem my mag ak74 mags they fit and feed perfectly, also my vfc ak74 mags also work perfectly.
  10. i have it somewhere but it seems to be a problem with all the highcaps and design fault, its a pitty they did not do a midcap like the did with the ak74, i updated some picks in my past post to try and show the problem i had.
  11. bad, worse than other experiences i do not like high caps normaly but i liked the look of the ak47 mag (i only have ak74 mid caps atm) so i just went with it, it lasted about 1 hour and i gave up with it, its very loss in the well does not seem to sit correctly and can easily come loss and drop out. bit hard to explain but the mag seems a bit small, a small amount of pressure on the bottem of the mag or even from running makes the mag pop out like bellow.
  12. have to agree with what other have said had the aims for about 2/3 weeks know got it out itto the field with weekend for the first time, the sound of the blowback is crisp and does make a differnace even the vibration in the body does make a differance which you notice if you go back to a normal aeg. You can run it on a 9.6v but from my trial i would not recommend it, i experianced what i can only call a number of lock up and 2 blown fuses in about 2 hours, where as 8.4vs ran fine with no issues and the nice slower rof withteh blowback sounds rather nice (well to me anyway)
  13. Wonder if anyone has had one experience with the vfc aims and mag compatibility, for me the hi cap that came with is rather difficult to get locked in where as my mag ak74 mid cap mags feed perfectly, my star ak47 mid caps on the other hand are of no use they do not fit well and when you get them to fit they do not feed unless you keep your hand on the mag pushing it into the mag well, anyone with experience of ak47 midcaps that might work?
  14. Everything is stock apart from the pistol grip, i swaped that out for the matt black version off a dboys ak74 i had about, the stock pistol grip is still as you say 'fruity'.
  15. The vfc aims lower handguard is a lot large than the real deal, its designed to fit a lipo which I've always found strange as the battery space in the vfc aks well designed and more than enough for most people needs. The quality of the wood is a lot better than the 'orange' versions that have been posted on the forums up until know, a good sand down and a re stain and it would look even better, the finish of the metal is very nice as well. I like the blowback simple really its fun and it as it masks a lot of the 'sewing machine' sound that i particularly do not like from aegs,
  16. VFC Aims real handguards on the way
  17. Nice to see some pictures of the aims, the pictures posted by some shops don;t seem to be constant the finish seems to be very differant depending on where you look, the finish on your body seems a lot better.
  18. it is based on a stock standard star m4a1
  19. my nearly complete m4 casv eod project
  20. im positive they can not be swaped as the dboys/kalash is a clone of the VFC design where as the cyma is based on the tm design, i could be wrong as i;ve only owned vfc and vfc based ak designs
  21. Very nice G36A2 there Quin can i ask where you got the red dot from? i just recently came across a number of very nice pictures of that very red dot on militayphotos.net ( for ref search for 'Germany's Elite Soldiers' last 2/3 pages of the thread) and since then i;ve been on the look out for one.
  22. I remember someone doing a photoshop composite of a hk416 and the eglm but for the life of me i can not recall where about in the thread it was >.< i do believe it looked rather good thought
  23. thank you for the link unfortunately they do not ship international, if i can not find one anywhere else i may give you a pm
  24. may i ask Guinness where you got your vented handguard from?
  25. Its not the gearbox, the grip is seated correct and no play, the metal when it got to me was very oily and my lighting seems to have picked up on that, and my editing of the picture made this show up even more.
