  1. I'm using an EMDOM inner belt, whch I put an AustriAlpin buckle on. I would think any sort of similar stiff inner belt would suffice. I've never used the press stud as the couple of times I have it's seemed to pop open pretty quickly, but I don't have any issues catching my hand on it. It may be because I'm wearing gloves or because the way I dump into it the palm of my hand would hit it, not the back of the hand. For packing it to get to site I use a pilots bag which every sort of loadout in the world can be chucked into. Initially I had used a roly poly dump on my belt for the compactnes
  2. Can you clarify this at all? Do you mean the Brokos can't deal with Malice clips generally, or just with TACOs? Just to stick my oar in - I'm running a ATS warbelt with the EMDOM dumper. No problems at all. I've found it bounces less than my old roly poly due to the stiffener on it, and mags are less likely to come out due to the half cover. That's running it at about the eight o'clock on my belt line. Only good for around 6 M4 mags though - you can probably get more in if you neatly arrange them, but who does that?
  3. I have one of these and they also fit in the back of the 5.11 LBE vests, which gives you another option if you're not a plate carrier sort of person. In that setup they also help balance out mags, etc. on the front quite nicely. I ordered mine online from the source website without really thinking about it and was surprised when it turned up shortly afterwards with post tags from Israel.
  4. Unbelievably I have actually managed to fix mine. Eagle6 bits turned up in a couple of days despite being Christmas, so not bad. As mentioned earlier, the sector gear had broken a tooth, which had then stayed where it broke in the spur gear and caused the jam on the next cycle - which ended up blowing the fuse as well. Then I sheared off the rear power cables when trying to unscrew the stock pipe. Oh, and one of the bearings had shattered too. Replaced bearings with Prometheus ones - I found using a gas valve tool to apply pressure worked quite well, no hammer required. Replaced original
  5. Nice review. I'm assuming the suppressor in question is the Gemtech G5 copy or similar? If you still want to put one on you're probably going to need to look at a copy of one of the Knights Armaments QD types instead.
  6. Broken sector gear tooth. And bearing. Also, the wiring to the rear is now sheared in half since the "medium" strength threadloc is more like superglue and the wiring gave way before it did (I think I'm actually going to need a vice to hold it). Anyone know what/where to get that inflexible wiring that goes to motors? This is a day without sunshine!
  7. First big failure today - gearbox has completely locked up and can't be cleared with full auto. The motor's trying to turn it over, but no joy. Not the battery, it was a fully charged Eagle6 LiPo and I gave it another hour of charge after the problem occured just to double check. Any suggestions before I have to take the whole thing apart? Also starting to see some empty mags not locking the bolt back now - I shall have to investigate that mod a few pages back.
  8. Can whoever gets it first for review please *not* title it "Initial impressions of..." as it's getting hard to tell which is which! As an aside, I'm wondering if this means we might see a recoil HK417 or SR-25 in future, since they'll essentially have a 7.62 recoil chassis to build them around.
  9. I've also been running the same charger for a while now (year or more) with no problems. Straightforward to use and charges a variety of battery types. There are several different balance lead connectors which should cover most of the standard ones. Programs include balancing, charge/discharge cycles and "storage" modes for LiPos. It comes with a few different connectors, but uses banana clips on the connection between charger and battery, so it's easy to make up your own cable should the one you want not be included. A separate power supply is needed, which is an extra cost, but the advan
  10. Supply Captain order arrived unmolested by customs! Coyote shock cord and multicam velcro all round, huzzah!

  11. I had the same problem when I moved away from using Excel - terrible feed issues not improved by stripping, cleaning, etc. As soon as I switched back, all the problems went away. YMMV.
  12. They've only been out a year and a bit haven't they? How'd he wreck it so fast?!
  13. If (when) they bring out a recoil MP5 it's going to get expensive...
  14. I've got Marui's one on mine. About £35, but fits well, should stop anything becoming unscrewed and it works.
  15. I tried a longer Guarder barrel (407mm) in my CQB-R with a complete hop unit. Didn't really see a noticeable improvement and after 5 or 6 games started to see flyers that barrel cleaning didn't resolve. Switched back to the short barrel and accuracy was right back where it had been, so I've stuck with that. Still running around 310fps and absolutely no issues with feeling outgunned/outranged.
  16. New toy arrived *obviously* the first thing to do is krylon it...
  17. SCAR-L CQC is up on Marui's website for those that prefer the shorter look...
  18. was driving behind a Battlefield 3 lorry today.

  19. Apologies for the terrible pictures, but I find it hard to get a decent shot with so many pouches, etc stuffed on. Would look better worn, but that would require additional people. This is an attempt at a fairly universal rig So: ATS Warbelt over CM-EMDOM belt. EMDOM battle suspenders with HSGI shoulder pads. 2 HSGI TACO's - there is a double HSGI pistol pouch piggybacked onto the second one (ideally I'd like to replace this with the piggyback TACO). Emdom dump pouch (recommended, can run around with 6 mags in and nothing falls out) Flyye GP pouch (copy of the eagle one) with strobe p
  20. Think I just built the ultimate universal belt/chest rig. My work here is done...

A couple of the pouches are stand-ins, and I was going to wait until it was "perfect". Looking forward to not spending *every* Saturday rebuilding molle now.

  21. AI gascan - hand tight?!Not unless you're King Kong.

  22. The Marui one is good, although it doesn't then let you fully collapse the stock, if that's an issue. It is proper QD too, on three sides.
  23. Ops-core base jump - very plastic for the money, but pads/dial excellent.

  24. It does that unless you make it the last screw out so that you can move the ris forward as you unscrew it, thus preventing the screw moving backwards and fouling the ejection port. Not sure why it won't come off though unless the design is different. Gas block stopping it coming off? Anything in the manual?
  25. Source 2l LPS arrived in about 2 days from Israel. No customs *and* fits inside Eagle PC. :)
