  1. Like I said, It's not mounted far enough to the rear.
  2. Looks to me that you don't have it mounted far enough towards the rear. The dial should hang off of the back above the charging handle.
  3. Exactly. USRanger, another Ranger friend of mine talk about this all the time how people automatically call these rifles Armalites. Armalite is a company, not a type of gun. Yeah, they patented the Stoner design, but it's changed hands so many times and so many companies make 'M' series rifles now that it's a mis-nomer. I Love the 416 and 417, my cousin is a FED DEA and he just ordered 30 of them for his department. I can't wait to get my hands on one. I think the 416s and 417s look right in this thread. I don't look at any other gun type threads and I like to see the 416/1
  4. VIC! : LMFAO Buddy, that's the stuff! I haven't been around for a couple of days but when I saw this.... ...I'm sill laughing man.
  5. Nice, I see those and it makes me want to take my M5 off and put my handguards back on, heh. ...Nah. I do love 'em though.
  6. LOL, Victory, you take it to personally bro, you do what you want man. I just think they look funcky and to be honest, it also make the gun look like the user has problems loading mags into thier gun or something, I just don't 'get' them. I'm always happy 5-1. See -->
  7. Probably not because that's a 16.
  8. LOL Victory, he better not stick a mag chimney on that thing!
  9. Yeah that's a beauty oddxbird
  10. Sorry, I have to say this... Victory, you have an awesome looking gun but you screwed it up with that abomination hooked onto your magwell. Do you have trouble finding the magwell without it? I tried a friend's AR with one on his and I found it to be a hinderance more than anything, not to mention it fouls the beautiful lines of the AR.
  11. Wow, Wiki got it right! Nice. That FN metal body is the only one I've seen that accurately replicates the Marine M16A4 receiver. It even has M16A4 etched on it. I've had my eye on it, but the 'flow' is slow, ya know? Edit: Nice M4 ya got there. Lookin FR to me. I have the G&P M5 RAS on my G&P M16A4, for the money you spend, you'll not find a better one in my opinion. The G&P M5 RAS is $179 after shipping at EHobby. The CA is about the same (usually more) but comes with much less. The G&P comes with the entire front end assembly complete. The
  12. Having served in the Corps, I have this built in need to know as much about the M16 and her variants as I possibly can. Call it a weakness. I've been preaching for a long time now about the fact that G&P and many other airsoft gun makers mis-label the AR variants. M16A3s in the real world have fixed carry-handles and full auto capabilities. M16A4s have detachable carry-handles and burst fire. Lots of these 'know it all' people who disagreed with me in the past tried to use the guns of the world.ru site (or whatever it is) for referrence but that site is faulty on many item
  13. That would be kinda interesting. I doubt we'll ever see it though.
  14. Yeah, because people don't think of it like that. LOL
  15. Yeah, as is that case for most fields. Luckily, our team is all former and active military and law enforcement, and on our field there are no velocity limitations. We just know when we can and can''t fire on someone due to distance. We think of pain as a learning experience. So for us, the matchkey would actually be a nice option.
  16. Then also, if your primary is running hot, like a DMR, the shotty would come in mighty handy for closer engagements, so not necessarily form over function. Actually you could say it has twice the function and a lot of form.
  17. I've never had a jam either out of my M&P15 or any of the M16s I used in the Corps.
  18. It's rugged as hell. Very solid. I don't get to shoot it enough. It is the same gas system but it seems to fire quite a bet smoother than other ARs I've shot. the thing is I bought it when they only had 16" barrels, now they have the 15T out with a 20" barrel. I'm partial to long barrels too. Kinda ticked me off. heh. Now I'm saving for that. Edit: I have the G&P AP also and it's almost exactly the same optic as CompM4 other than the metal and the white markings. I've used it on the M&P and it holds it's sighting very well.
  19. I have a real CompM2 on my M&P15 that doesn't look as nice as that replica Souske. It has the same white markings on it and the covers like that one.
  20. Yeah, I did a crappy job of explaining it clearly (heh) but you got what I was saying.
  21. I understand what your saying about not needing the rear sight to zero the dot, but it's easiest to sight the iron sights in and then move the dot to the top of the post while the rear sight is on the gun. Then you can remove the rear sight and the dot will obviously be right, no matter where it is in the optic's sight picture. True, you only need a target to set a red dot. I have the cantilever mount, and the 'L' mount (the type on Sarge's gun) and the 'L' mount sits too low for the dot to sit directly on top of the post unless it's high in the optic sight picture. Especially if i
  22. That may be true, but until you get a rear site on the gun, and co-witness the iron-sights to the dot, you don't know that it's zeroed in. The reason Souske thinks you're kidding is because of the low mount you have, it'd be imposible for the dot to be correctly sighted in on top of the post. You'll be shooting way low unless your hop-up is turned up to the moon to compensate.
  23. They did, but that has been sorted out. The newer G&Ps (post mid 2006) have a new tappet that's higher quality. No issues with mine either.
  24. I don';t doubt it, not all are bad like those I mentioned, but of the G&Ps that DID have problems, they were retailer custom guns. Buying a retailer custom doesn't mean your automatically going to get a bad gun, but of the G&Ps that had issues or problems, they were mostly those that retailers had used for the base of thier customs.
  25. One person cannot make the call what's best, everyone has different experiences. I've found through multiple conversations that WGC custom guns based on G&Ps are likely to fail because WGC has a tendency to to a less than proper job of re-assembling the mechboxes post upgrading them. It's best, in our judgement, to get the G&P and customize it personally than to take the chance on ANY retailer custom guns regardless of the retailer, be it WGC, RedWolf, or whomever. I have a G&P M16 that has more than 80,000 'rounds' through it and has had absolutely no failures at all (o
