Not sure about the mags and rail issue, but in terms of upgrades, I normally shove in a Prommy tightbore, but I've found the most useful one is putting in a larger hop nub, as in my stock Type 97, I had to adjust the hop dial to 8-9, whereas with th new hop nub (I'm currently using a Madbull blue 60 hop nub and rubber) I only have to turn it to about 3-4.

Anyone know if a metal slide has been released for this with the correct trades that doesn't cost upwards of $150?

If someone made a replica of the scope that goes on the Type97 I'd be over it like a bad rash. 'Tis a shame they don't

Been looking to change to lipos but I'm not sure which ones will fit the lower reciever/handgrip of the Type 97. Any advice, seeing as you're using lipos?

The inner barrel is very hard to get out of Type 97s due to a funny design, it requires some force, but once you've swapped it for a prommy etc., it becomes much easier to take out.

Yeah, I know it's the export, but it's the closest thing they do. owever, I really wish someone did a clone scope for them, cause the scopes are so rare to find.

To go with my Type 97, I have bought a set of PLA camo while i was in HK. Ignore the terrible quality and the fact that one trouser cuff is tucked in and the other one isn't, i took a quick snap at the end of the game day after running around. N.B Although the mag is in, there are no bbs in it, battery has been disconnected, gun is on safe and there are no rounds up the spout.

If only they came out with a china clone of that 4x scope. Drool

Hey, just to confirm, what is the length of the Type 97 barrel? Is it 509mm like Wilekcmc's tightbore he fitted or is it the 480mm stated by PvtCody? And if it is 480mm, what's the closest barrel length to that which won't poke out into the flashider?

Just got a new one of these, and I'm struggling to get the battery flush against the bottom of the grip, due to the wires coming out of it. Any suggestions, or is this just a brute force jobbie? Edit: In particular, I'm talking about the 3 cells facing back Edit2: Nevermind, I've managed to fit it in on about the 50th try with lots of poking and prodding

On the RS site, it talks about grenade launchers for the Type 97. I assume that they are going to bring one out, or does one already exist/is another gun's compatible?

Very good review, was strongly considering getting one of those, and after seeing your praise for it in the review, I'm gona take the plunge.

I'm already in a team and I reckon this would be a great idea to recruit new people, because tbh, they probably don't want to trawl through all the team threads to find one which is close to them. It will make it much easier for teams to recruit as well methinks, because then the teams can see who lives near to them as well. Edit: Also might be worth subdividing the thread into south-east, sw etc
