  1. Does it effect fps? Greg.
  2. I'm no expert, I'm just a bit determined. Sorry, but I don't do pnp. Any thing I can do to help remotely, just let me know. Greg.
  3. Jesus, you are having a nightmare. If you are in the West London area, you are welcome to come on down the shed. I've had the barrels/hops out of 3 of these now. Two ksc's & one kwa which was a bit of a pain but nothing like what you are describing. Greg.
  4. See, there is always a sensible explanation. Thank you. Other than the fire support bit, it makes perfect sense. I have the cnc valve & when installed, mine does similar. Greg.
  5. I think you misunderstand. The Ready fighter nozzle is just stronger than the original, it doesn't add any power. Chrono the for sale gun to see. As for 351 from a KSC Jap (.2, on green) at 2C? Well done. You have either done some work on the gun, got very lucky or knackered the chrono. I've not seen or until now, heard of, a stock KSC Jap, doing more than 330fps, .2, green @ 20C. Are you sure the mag was 2C & not out of your nice warm car or pocket? Is the gun definitely KSC Jap, 350fps, sounds more like a KWA? Where did you get it? Is it stock? What chrono did
  6. I'd usually take what a seller says with a pinch of salt but at this time he has a point. If you import, it will cost you more than he is asking. Both his gun & an import, carry no real form of warranty, so in a way, you might as well go with his, saving a few quid & the hassle/wait involved with importing. What Galactica says is true, the market will dictate the price, Ie, if you are willing to pay it, the product is by definition, 'worth' what you paid. However, if a UK dealer starts pumping out the KWA model for £230, with some form of warranty, you won't shift your s
  7. Erm, look at it like this: When AA (as far as I know, the only UK source) had them in stock (UK dealer, so UK customer rights, guarantee etc) they were flogging them for £330 & £50 a mag. The ready fighter nozzle is what, about £35 with shipping & tax. So you would have paid £665rrp for that lot, Brand new & warranteed, on UK soil. This doesn't include delivery, or discount for cash but serves as a good bench mark. Den Trinity are offering the same gun for $364, mags are $58. By the time you pay import duty(don't talk tax evasion, it's illegal & immoral, tax thieves a
  8. The Readyfighter unit is designed to replace the KSC Japan version ONLY. This is a particularly thin walled unit designed to break, if used for any length of time on green. The reciprocating cup for this model, is a different size & the Readyfighter unit is specifically made to match it. If you are trying to put the ready fighter unit into any other MP7, you will have to replace the cup, with the appropriate part. Greg.
  9. Yeah, nice pre-emptive there with the spares kit. Thus far, these have been the only reported failures. Remember, if you have to install the readyfighter nozzle, make sure to 'carve', the retaining slots into the spring retaining lugs. The first time I did this, I didn't make them deep enough. Inevitably, one of the springs popped off & got chewed in the blowback unit. Now the slots are deep enough, it has not happened. Greg.
  10. Good luck with that. Let us know how you do. I suspect it wont work. You might do better, by trying .3's. Greg.
  11. That's a cross between 'paying for a label' & 'supply & demand'. I think it's also sometimes referred to as,,,,,,,,,,,,,'LIFE'. Greg.
  12. I ordered & got 2x40rnds from Den. It was marked KSC Japan. Do not use with hi-power gas etc. I've been running it on green. No probs. I think the warning is just there because of the Jap power limits. Greg.
  13. Yup, that & the fact that with gas, you are dealing with an 'expanding', compressed gas. In an aeg, the air in the cylinder, is forced out, but never really compressed, as the bb moves out of the barrel fairly easily. Also, consider the relatively short barrel length we are dealing with. 160mm is tiny, the gas released comes out very quickly & will fill a longer barrel of much greater internal volume. Greg.
  14. Just replaced the stock barrel with the 200mm, TN auto, barrel, in another pair of gas MP7's. All chrono figs are with a .2 @ approx 19C. The first was a KSC which chronoed 280 before & 310 after. The second was a KWA which was 360 & chronoed 410 after. Greg.
  15. I've been using one of these Sog Tomahawk things for a bout 2 years now. Perfect for chopping tree/shrub roots underground as it goes straight through the soil. Very easy to re sharpen too, but it does dull off quick. Mind you so does anything when chopping soil. Greg.
  16. You have to get an ATR, it's the law. Greg.
  17. 1, Right. Super. When I ask for ideas on what barrel to use, no one replied. Now I've found a solution, you all come out of the wood work with 'why don't you use this?' & 'why don't you use that?' Only kidding. I don't think this would be a good choice for 3 reasons. First off, I think it's too short. It's made for a 7" slide, it's not 7" long. If made for a Marui system, the hop set up is completely different & would require as much work as an aeg barrel. & like the aeg barrel, it's diameter is .5mm too big. So it wont fit in the outer barrel without a load of work. 2
  18. I dunno about that. I wish I'd tried this, before letting my local precision engineers, wreck a perfectly good P90 barrel! Greg.
  19. EUREKA! Finally got the barrel sorted. The TN barrel from WGC, for the M93R Auto, is in & running. Bonus was, that the barrel was 200mm (not 178mm as expected), 40mm longer than the original, falling just short of the end of the flash hider. Gun chronoes 395, .2g, @ 19C, which is about 30 up on the original barrel. Shot to shot consistency seems better, I think the hop rubber's seal is tighter but that's just conjecture. I can't see any improvement on the accuracy, which was great anyway. Possibly a bit better, definitely no worse, approx 12" groups at 50M. I can't
  20. As Galactica rightly says, there is a notch on the bb follower that controls the lockback. Take the follower & spring out of the mag. It drops out of the bottom. Thoroughly clean the bb channel. You will be amazed how much poo comes out of that area, even on a 'brand-new' mag. While you have it out, you can check the bb follower to make sure it's ok. Earlier, you asked if they are ok on 134a. I ran mine on 134a back in September & it was ok but you may have problems in the lower temperatures. Fine on green of course, unless you have the ksc jap version, in which cas
  21. Great, keep us informed when this goes public. As Galactica says, if you have any influence, please encourage them to do one around 250mm. I doubt I would bother buying a stock length one but I'd definitely have a 250, especially if they did it as a kit, with silencer adapter. Greg.
  22. I think I saw it at den trin. Can you get them direct from ra tech? Greg.
  23. I hope they do better than I did. Greg.
  24. No worries, that's all part of development, you get used to it after a while. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I now have a much better (first hand experience) understanding of how these things work. As that barrel is not viable, I might cut it back in increments, to see how length affects fps. I'll also get the auto barrel on order & get that in there. I'll post results. In the mean time, we can all hope for a lalax/pdi 250mm barrel. Greg.
  25. Bad news on the custom barrel. Testing for accuracy was disappointing, the bb's go straight as a die for 50m & then do a 90 degree right hand turn! Great for corner shooting. Have spoken to the engineers who suspect it was distorted in during the process. They are going to check it out & waive the cost but won't do another as the same thing could happen. So, back to the drawing board. At least we have quantified the extra fps theory. Hopefully the barrel manufacturers are onto this & 'extended barrels will become available. Greg.
