Pre-sanding tan. A little uneven for a real job, but an example of some 18" dusting. -
Went on through with a battle-worn paintjob today (many thanks to Kojak for the idea) and I'm very happy with it. Here was my progress:

A few hours later and I've finally done what I wanted. Many thanks to Kojak for instructing me on how to do a paintjob similar to what he did (which you should check out a page or two back.) I like the tacky skull a bit more now that it's dirty but I have a Redimag clone coming tomorrow so all the mag well trades will be covered. Railed gas block and matching Troy front sight will be installed too. More pictures are going to be in the Painted Weapons Thread. Apologies for the out-of-focus photos of my 2002 Canon Powershot. I can't wait to get my new DSLR this fall.

Sounds good. How much are you charging and yep you'd need examples before anyone pays you money. But I reckon people would be interested, some people do awful paintjobs on their guns.

Well I'm posting an example of a "worn" job tonight. I'd probably charge people only the cost of shipping to do a trial run if they wanted to submit a part as a guinea pig.

C/D: classic army makes a crane stock that holds sub-c cells? My G&P is tiny.

CA, Prime and STAR make Cranes that take Sub-C 3300+ cell packs. G&P/D-Boys are all based on the 4/5Af type commonly found in 'nunchuck' packs.

I knew when I saw "Add / Show comments (8)" that something was wrong.
This is at least good news because full should be easier to find. I do have spare batteries and I have some strong convictions when it comes to lipo batteries so I'm going to stick with my Nimh.

Shame about the dislike of Lipo's, but i'm not going to try and convince you - Still, the A2 stocks are relatively easy to find. I think Ehobby do them for pretty cheap.

I had a stubby killer .. I threw that teeny tiny stock off immediately ..put me a nice manly stock on .. felt better ... small stock was too small!

The only artificial wear that I've seen and liked was boomheadshot's "Afghan and back" guide. I'll probably dust it very lightly. When I did my ATACS paint, it was so thick that the only thing that could take it off was a pretty thick gel-based paint stripper. Once the new parts come in I'll figure out what to do. I have a railed gas block coming from DesertFox and I'm replacing the front A2 post with that and the matching Troy front sight I have so get rid of the little blur in my ACOG's sight picture from the post. The bigger problem I have is committing! I know painting will look cool,

Well...I chickened out. I wasn't 100% sold on the test I did on the stock. I like the "dirty" look (which it's already getting in some spots due to playing) but I am not sure if I want 100% of the body to be khaki. I may follow a guide, dust individual spots, then use some thinner to hand-wear it. I also have some new parts coming in so it may be a good idea to wait for those to get installed.

When I got this M4 I was all about making a hyper magpul super techie tacticool blaster mk. ii.
Now I've got an ACOG, RVG and sometimes a can on it., though I would like a CQB upper.

I've got an XM now, a Car-15 and the PDWish thingy. I should name that. Still, the most i ever mount is an Aimpoint... Stuff looks cool, but I've never needed it and I hate extra weight.
