  1. 74M was a soviet program to Modernise the rifle and was carried forward under the Russian Federation when the cold war ended.

AK-12 and 15 finished troop trials at the end of 2017 and officially adopted as the new infantry rifle for the Russian Federation however it has only been seen in limited numbers, possibly down to financial reasons.

Qatar armed forces have purchased 800 AK-12's for their army and these have been delivered and seen at a parade recently in Qatar.

I haven't seen any info on the AK-12 appearing in Syria yet as most of the RUS SF seem to be running the AK-74M Gen2 rifles at the moment.

  2. Don't know how long I've been coming here. It's long enough that I bought Arnies TM G3 SG1 (still got it in the pile).

Looking at the skirmish field the levels of people haven't really changed much but social media is different for the newer generation of softers. Imgur/Reddit/Facebook have diluted the sources of information and probably explain why not so many people come to the forums. Photobucket being a *rickroll* and charging people to host photos hasn't helped.

Airsoft forums UK seems to get a decent amount of new posts and reminds me of the early days with lots of new player questions (Wot am best gun!). No idea what happened to Zeroin and who remembers the old UKAZ before it became something else and then died?

Thing is about forums its down to you and me to keep them alive. Got a new gun? take the time to write a review. Got the latest fancy chest rig or got one made? tell us about it. I use facebook but I'm not a big fan. I prefer to have all the things of interest in 1 page with links. A bit like the pictures thread on here. Having to ask to join a group and then scroll through 500 pish posts until you find what you are interested in soon becomes annoying.

I also have a suspicion that the weak pound hasn't been kind to airsofters over the last few years. I remember buying from Asia when the pound would get you 2 dollars. Much cheapness on the ACM AEG's that started pumping out of the Far East. You are pretty much paying double the price now for a piece of junk but you didn't mind so much when it was 50 quid and not 100.

So that I don't end up eating my own words I really should write a review on the TM Glock 19 thats been staring at me for the last couple of weeks.....

for some reason, my AKMS is my least photographed gun...it's a dboys steel/wood, bone stock internals (though it has been shimmed/re-greased by me). The stock handguards were also stripped and refinished. Im debating going darker, but I do like the way they look...decisions decisions.

The blonde furniture gives it a Hungarian look and my 2 cents would be to replace the pistol grip with the Ares slim motor and grip to finish it off.

  4. I've had this TM with Guarder aluminium frame and slide for ages and have been meaning to polish it up at some point. That some point was today. I was going to do the lower frame as well but I quite like the 2 tone look.

  5. Oh, my! Saw those motor+grips on facebook the other day and i knew two things, I wanted one and that I feared their price

Just kidding! how do you like those motors? are they on par with high end regular sized motors? =D

They seem to be good. I've just ordered another 2 as I really like the size of them and fitting is a breeze.

  6. So i really wanted to change the plastic wood-like furniture on my TM NGRS AK47 but it turns out that TM have made the handguards 3mm longer than the real thing so after a bit of thinking I tried something new for me.

I bought some wood effect sticky backed vinyl and using a heat gun added it to the plastic furniture. I didn't turn out too bad and the vinyl comes in different wood types if anyone is interesting in trying it.

I didn't add the vinyl to the pistol grip as that would have been too difficult.

So I'm happy with it but I have an idle 3D printer and thought to myself "What I need is a top rail for my AK" and since none exist for the NGRS I decided to make one in Sketchup.

  7. Golden Eagle M870 Sebru

5 shells worth of BB's with each charge. Gas is held in the pistol grip and cooldown is minimal due to the heat of your hand on the grip.

Grip will fit other GE M870's but not the TM models. I haven't had a chance to see what stops it fitting but I'll investigate.

  8. hi guys, thinking about going back to gbbs, after watching some Army glock 17 reviews it looks like a good candidate. Trades seem to be realistic enough and perfomance good enough since i will probably be upgrading the hopup group.

I would like it to be as realistic (trade wise) and reliable as possible.

Do you think these are a good base?

    thanks  =)

Yeah they are solid pistols that are TM/Aftermarket compatible.

  9. decided to paint the GE M870 so that most of the parts matched. I used Halfords FDE then a coat of clear matt varnish (Halfords) to seal the finish. I've got a new top rail coming in the post so the current G&P one on there will be replaced.

  10. messing around with the Golden Eagle M870.

Parts, M870 Tan, G&P Long tan top rail, Golden Eagle gas stock tube, PTS grip, magazine extender and ACM tan stock. Probably going to swap the G&P for a more compatible one and add a lightweight buttstock to the gas tube.
