  1. and to bring the topic back on track.... the gas parts need spraying matt black but apart from that it's looking good. it's the easiest mod yet. take one TM AK47 gas part and one guarder slanted mussle break and hey presto you have an AKM.
  2. the gp 30 is mounted on an ICS AK74M. it's quite easy to do. the parts required for the wooden kit is a set of wooden furniture which i got from rusmilitary.com for £110 and the grip is a spare guarder one but you can spray yours brown to save the hassle of finding a guarder one. i also had a spare ribbed top cover which makes it look the part. i need to spray it matt black as it's too shiny at the moment. just to let you all know i'm working on a RPK74 using the CA 105 as a base. i will post pictures when i manage to finish it. i'm also toying with the idea of trying to make a bison

  6. I tested all the Ak's with the battery that was supplied with the Ak's and used .20g quality BB's. 2 tests so far have provided the same results. I haven't had a chance to test the AK's with a quality battery but i was trying to provide a review for people just getting into airsoft and thinking of buying one of these AK's. new people are unlikely to have a spare battery lying around and its for this reason i used the stock battery. when i get a chance i will post results of a chrongraph using a quality battery
  7. hi all, i charged up the battery and tried the chrono again and it produced similar results as before. i have now taken the UTG gearbox and fitted it to the CSI AK. (it took a bit of dremeling to get the plastic battery tray on the lower receiver to fit) i'm going to upgrade the UTG gearbox with bushings and a new spring and when i do i will post the results
  8. i will charge up the battery again and do another chrono.
  9. hi all again, i have now stripped down both the UTG and the CSI AK's http://photobucket.com/albums/d94/mightyje...=utggearbox.jpg http://photobucket.com/albums/d94/mightyje...trippeddown.jpg http://photobucket.com/albums/d94/mightyje...=cisgearbox.jpg http://photobucket.com/albums/d94/mightyje...trippeddown.jpg as you can see the UTG gearbox is a loose copy of the TM V3 gearbox. i will open it up and have a look shortly. the CSI gearbox looks a bit fragile and i'm wondering if it would be easier to just put a TM V3 gearbox into it and be done with it. you can pre-order one
  10. hi all, I thought I would produce a comparison guide for people looking to buy a budget AK 47. I will be reviewing all the budget AK's against the Tokyo Mauri AK 47. first of we have a picture of the 3 guns under review in there packaging. http://photobucket.com/albums/d94/mightyje...ent=package.jpg the top one is the CYMA AK, middle is the CSI AK and the bottom one is the UTG AK. i bought all these AK's from speedtoys.com and got them all shipped across the pond.(hence the orange tips) the CYMA comes with AK, sling, magazine, cleaning rod, glasses, 7.2v 700MaH battery, ch
  11. im using a massive 5.07K but i still can't post pictures
  12. too much the top one isn't finished yet. I am going to add a club foot stock and I have a bore up cylinder sitting there to go in it. the 74 with the galil stock is completedy hand built. (lots of time and effort) the AK47 has the G&P wood kit added the AK74S is stock (why mess with a thing of beauty) although it's earmarked for a wood kit the bottom one is a cross between a spetz and an AK47S (looks very nice if i do say so myself) the spetz is standard. I have now added a chinese AK to my collection. if anyone wants i will post a picture of it. thanks for looking

  14. I know, but for some reason i can no longer add photos to any post which I could do until recently oh and I can't preview a post I am creating aswell
  15. I can't seem to post pictures anymore. my attachments folder is empty so that can't be causing a problem. any ideas?
  16. excellent review one again. I have a couple of questions. being british i would like to remove the rear sight and replace it with a rail and susat sight (both metal). do you think the plastic is up to the job or will it snap? do you think the cocking handle could be modded to work? maybe a similar setup to the TM ak47 cocking handle for instance. I noticed in one of your photos that the M16 magwell has a moulded piece of plastic attached by 2 screws, obviously this part isn't functioning but could it be replaced and allow for M16 mags to work? i know no one makes this part but
  17. bought the wave from an american PX..a bit like the british naafi. cost the pricely sum of $56..about £30
  18. black leatherman wave...gerber power axe....ak bayonet....a couple of nicely crafted blades. btw the small knife next to axe fits into the handle of the axe
  19. did the first famas have teething problems when it came out and where rectified with the new one or is the new one purely a cosmetic change?
  20. the famas looks like a cross between robocop, a dyson hoover and the gun from space 1999, and it's french..oh well which one should I get guys. the bipod one or the newer one?
