KJW M4 with Cradle parts = WIN I used to have the WE M4A1. And I've never looked back after switching to KJW. KJW hasn't got the most powerful blowback, but everything mentioned above is true. KJW M4 is hands down the best GBB rifle out of the box, and after Cradle upgrades even better. I've actually had a lot more problems with my AEG's, than with my KJW (none yet). Currently I don't even own a single AEG.

Wow! A very decent price even if it goes a bit higher. Could you consider also the new Magpul EMAG's? As me and my teammates got the L119A1 conversions, the EMAG's would be perfect for us, as British units have just ordered EMAG's for their troops using L119A1.

Kai_Wolf: Good to hear you got the hop working. Personally, I've actually never had an AEG that could have shot more straight than my current KJ setup (after installing TB and the hop mod). Also can't think why it couldn't be a permanent fix, as it's easy to do and lasts just about forever. No need for custom parts for me.

That is great news! Even 20rnd mags, which is good. Now only if I could get a VN-era upper... Mine was most likely 4,8mm diameter. I used two layers, which we're just perfect ,although the second layer was a bit tough fit.

Heh... I'm not using my gun for a while. There's a feet of snow out there and the temperature has dropped to zero degrees Fahrenheit. That's -18 degrees Celcius. I'm curious how low have you guys been able to go with propane. I'm actually considering some sort of an air rig I could attach to one magazine. That could enable me to use the gun through most of the winter.

I can also highly recommend t_hum's (Cradle) parts. They're all you'll need. I've got the velocity reducer, carrier extension, o-ring piston and the modified madbull tightbore in mine. I've also made the shrink wrap mod for the hopup and the gun works like a champ.

The mag development sounds REALLY promising! Can't wait to get some pmags...

Haven't really seen an actual tutorial, but here's a link to the post where you can see what it should look like, with one or two electrical shrink wrap tube pieces around the hop arm (I also used two layers which seems to be spot on, but it depends on the thickness of the tube you're using). Disassembly of the hopup arm unit in receiver is pretty easy, after you remove the bolt, outerbarrel and innerbarrel. Personally I prefer regular gas mags for their ease of use. Yes, I think CO2 mags are pain in the *albatross*. I just hate screwing the endcaps, replenishing a new capsule and then screwing the cap back on. So much easier just to to top up the mags with GG when I reload, and after that in the game I don't have to worry if there's enough gas in the capsule left. If there's bb's, theres gas too (thanks to the reliable KJ mags). I carry enough mags (six of them) with me, plus a pistol with a couple of mags. So it has to be a really long game when that's not enough.

Yes. It is possible... ...but you'd propably have to dump a LOT of money before that, upgrading all the crappy WE internals (steel hammer etc), especially if you plan to use the WE CO2 magazines and be prepared to do a lot of modifications yourself. With KJ you can just take it out of the box and blast away. Only a couple of parts, pretty low price and easy to install, are recommended if you want a long life for your rifle. I personally switched from WE to KJ just because I was fed up with WE's leaking mags and poor accuracy. My current KJ in it's L119A1 setup with t_hum's madbull tightbor

About the shrink wrap hopup fix; I used two layers of tubing that I had, which helped my hopup have flatline trajectories around in the middle hopup settings. The gun is the new CQB model with long t_hum's madbull barrel, 0.28g BB's and around 2 joules power with green gas in 20+ celcius temperature. The two last settings now overhop, so now I have adjustment range both up and down. Of course there's different thickness tubings available, so you just have to test and experiment.

It seems that the KJ rifles and their magazines are selling like hot cakes, which isn't really a surprise given how ridiculously awesome these guns are, compared to any of the competition. Last week the magazines came back in stock in eHobbyAsia (and I ordered 4 more), and only after a week they are sold out. Same thing I've seen in every other store. It seems that the shops are not getting enough of them to meet the demand. So you need to be fast when you see them in stock somewhere. Just played couple of games with my KJ L119A1. Lovely weather, warm and the gun worked like a charm. It was highly efficient with awesome accuracy and range. Dropped three AEG players in a row with a single magazine. And the sound of the gun is pretty loud, almost got my ears ringing with my first shots. Even if the recoil ain't as high as with WE, I'd say my choice to switch to KJ has been more than a success.

Only thing that's slightly odd with my gun, is that full auto works pretty erratic if I don't press the magazine with the other hand. It's like the valve isn't pressed fully by the hammer, or the seal between mag and nozzle is too loose. There's a small (one or two mm) wobble there. With semiauto it works smooth enough, even without pressing. Auto-sear and the trigger group looks fine and I wouldn't even think that's the problem, since when I push the mag, the full-auto works 100% fine.

Here you go... Got an answer from Clare finally. I just paid the parts. It seems that the belts and hopup buckings cost around $6 a piece and bolt stop about $9 each. Ordered enough of those so I won't run out of spare parts any time soon.

That's exactly the reason why I just tried the shrink wrap tube mod for my hop up. Look it up from this thread! Even with maximum setting the bb's flew like 20-30 meters and dropped fast after that. Now after the mod I can adjust it to shoot straight all the way, or even over hopup if I wanted to. (Two last settings will shoot up in the sky.) I used two layers of shrink wrap tube, just as there was a picture here in this thread.

I finally installed the Cradle Airsoft o-ring piston and made the simple shrink wrap tube mod for the hopup. I cut about 5-7 mm lenght piece of the shrink wrap tube and placed two layers of it in the hopup arm. I used lighter to shrink-fit it perfectly. The hopup unit was quite easy to dismantle and to put it back together (didn't even need any guides). Also found a small 1.5mm hex screw from my boxes, and finally got the front sight tightened properly. All good so far. Now that I tried shooting through the window towards the forest, I could actually give over hop to my 0.28g BB's as

Nice! My Elcan SpecterDR replica has arrived, in addition to some extra mags... Interesting to see if it's adjustments work. Nice crosshair with illuminated center. Paintjob not very good; a bit chinese looks, but if not examined close it's pretty good looking and hefty piece of glass and metal. Since the adjustments are mechanical, outside the lenses, it could actually be pretty durable (I hope). Eye relief nice ~10cm from lens.

How long does it typically take for KJ to answer the parts quote you've sent to them? Do they still sell parts? I sent an email according to the instructions given here at Arnies, hoping for an answer. It seems a bit odd that none of the shops are selling any spare parts, especially the most essential ones (belt, hopup rubber, bolt stops, etc).

About the recoil I'd say that the WE M4 has more powerful felt kick to the shoulder, but the KJ is definitely louder and feels also "snappier", which I actually prefer. Both were fired with Green Gas when I compared them side by side. Especially with CO2 the WE really has a sharp and powerful recoil, but I'm actually not gonna miss that. There was always the nagging feeling that something is going to break really soon. I have never tried duster in these guns, and most likely not going to. Also the smooth action of the bolt seems really nice in KJ. In WE there was always kinda metal scraping me

I used to do the same thing with my WE. Now with my new CQB KJ, with the longer L119A1 outer barrel I just wrapped some teflon tape around the madbull inner so it sits tight in the middle of the outer barrel. I placed the tape just before the extension piece joint. The extension piece in this particular outer barrel seems to be pretty close to the madbull inner barrel diameter, so no additional tape was needed further on. Actually it's the Magpul PTS MOE grip, not the modular MIAD grip. On mine the grip pushes the spring inside the receiver hole completely. And the grip sits real tight.

I kinda guessed that already. t_hum was kind enough to sell all the Cradle goodies. Only the o-ring piston I haven't installed yet. What kind of problems does that by the way prevent? (Can't remember what was said in the ancient times of this thread.) Here's by the way my rifle with different set of furniture - the Magpul edition. Still needs the Magpul trigger guard, otherwise pretty nice and sleek. Sorry for the crappy iPhone "quality" pic.
