  1. It looks like we all seem to have finished building identical Mk.18's all at the same time. I'm a little embarrassed, but here's my *almost* finished Block II. I promise I didn't copy any of you guys. Still waiting on an FDE Pmag and a DD low profile gas block. CTR stock? Yes or no? I'm thinking about reconfiguring this as an M4A1 RIS II, I have the rail lying around. Then I'd probably pick up a 10" VFC Mk.16 and stick my EGLM on it for my MOUT rifle. As it stands now, this is my CQC/MOUT weapon and my longer alternative is the Mk.17 with either the EGLM or the 16" barrel. I'm s
  2. I've been having a hard time finding the RA-Tech slide in stock anywhere. Noveske, my main issue with the P10 SD kit is that I will never be able to find a good holster for it. Thoughts? I finally managed to find a holster I like for the big .45 Tactical, and that search was a pain in the butt.
  3. My USP's The big guy has a Crusader steel barrel, which was a drop-in fit and cycles very well. Hooray! This one is done because I can't find an aftermarket slide for it anywhere. The little one is going to get either a Shooter's Design P10 SD kit or just regular Shooter's Design USP Compact slide, barrel, and sights. Not sure yet
  4. Looks good! Personally, I'd have stayed away from the drop leg SERPA at all costs, but that's obviously personal preference. Why don't you shift everything over just a little bit so that you can reach your mag pouches and dump pouch a little more easily? Not only will it help you use them, but the less centered on your butt the dumper is, the less prone it is to flapping around and smacking you when you run. And for me: Anybody try the Tyr Gunfighter's Belt yet? I'm thinking of getting one, but it confuses me in that it's like a rigger's belt, but in order to use it with MOLLE pouches yo
  5. I have a secondhand one of these coming in this week in hopes that it's nicer to hold than the USP Compact. The previous owner sawed off the barrel threads because he was offended by 16mm+ threading. Does anyone have an extra outer barrel? Or would I be better off just ordering an RA-Tech barrel and getting a suppressor while I'm at it?
  6. Kojak, is that a real XPS? If not, which replica is it?
  7. The neighborhood has never been safer. I'll take next watch.
  8. And so it begins. US Army SF with S&S Plate Frame at Fuerzas Commando in Colombia.

  10. I agree that we're all pigeonholing ourselves into building the same weapons just because it's how the real ones are set up, but I don't necessarily think that's bad. The game is called MILSIM (well, at least for some of us) and because of that I like my weapon to at least look close to something a military would issue. I think KAC SR15's and the Larue PredatAR are awesome, but the game we play simulates running around on the battlefield, not a Costa Ludus carbine course. I don't do gear impressions or try to make anyone think I'm SOF, or any better than anybody else, but having my gear and we
  11. got a KWA USP Compact Tactical from ASGI for $100. I couldn't help myself. Now to figure out a holster...

  12. Yeah, the 553 just feels like more weight than it's worth and it'll always look funny unless you buy a real one. I'm keeping my 553 for my Mk.17 as I don't plan on getting a SpecterDR (don't like those), but the Mk.18 will have the T-1 from now on. There are pictures of them being used, so I'm not concerned about that. Since my T-1 is being stolen from the 14.5" upper, what optic should I toss on there now?
  13. Double switch works fine around the house. I haven't actually used it in the field, though, as I'm away from home for the summer and haven't found a place to play nearby.
  14. I found a setup that I like much better. I just need to get a handstop of some kind and maybe a Magpul grip and stock.
  15. To be completely honest, I've gotten kind of bored of the Block II already and I'm thinking of switching it out for a VTAC rail soon. We'll see. I've discovered a new setup that I much prefer and will put a picture up sometime in the next couple days.
  16. 553 is most definitely not real. However, it looks better than my old one and works a lot better than some of the other clone ones I've seen. I have no idea what brand my T1 is, I just got it from EBB on sale.
  17. I finally managed to get all the parts for my G&P Mk.18 Mod1 in one place. Seen here with my other upper. Funny...now that it's finally all done I kind of want to do something different. and as Block 1.5!
  18. I've owned both and I obviously prefer Crye. I think it's worth the price. The materials on the clone just feel a lot cheaper and less durable, particularly on the inside where it contacts your body.
  19. The standard '34 is still WAY cooler than that IPSC stuff. Mine:
  20. Mini MRAP They just need to raise the suspension the tiniest bit. Otherwise it's pretty convincing.
  21. Oh, yeah. I already did that stuff. It's the stock-receiver connection that has been confusing me.
  22. What do you plan to do about the wiring? I really want to beef up the wiring in my VFC Mk.17 but I'm baffled as to how I'm going to do it.
  23. Just saw a P-51 with invasion stripes do 7 low passes over campus. The pilot waved and wagged the wings at me when I stopped to take a picture.

I was similarly impressed by the D-Day marked Spitfire that strafed a concert I was. They started playing the Dambusters theme. Great. :)
