  1. Be at ease young Skywalker, you haven't bought a bad airsoft gun, because to label it as bad would mean there exists a good airsoft gun. Most people are searching for that definitive rifle that is simply good out of the box, truth is, such a beast doesn't appear to exist, at least as far as airsoft forums are concerned.
  2. These guys have been on the scene for months, and they already have a wider product line up then Celcius
  3. Do you have a website link for Black Ops, doing a Google search brings up quite some noise
  4. You can buy the lower power cylinders from ehobby I think, or you can use the King Arms cylinders (the black one).
  5. OK, I don't want to pollute my favourite thread with more derailment, but thinking about the G&G, in my mind it's a different beast to the array of TW out there, just as standard AEG's are in general. Not saying it's bad, until someone buys and reviews it, who can say whether it will be a dog electrically or mechanically. It won't have the same (supposed) accurate dimensions of a TW. It's electronics aren't doing the same thing a TW does. Saying that, it has a working charging handle. As far as I can see though, if you want a TW the options are still the same, if you want the next
  6. Well I can sleep easy tonight with my decision to go down the TW route rather than the 'upgraded' AEG route. Have just read the feedback on the hotly awaited and debated ASCU gen 3, and apparently it sucks. Which doesn't bode well for the eagerly awaited ASAR. Any feedback on when the A&K will be released in volume or the various stores like Taiwangun will get it back in stock?
  7. Time to save up then! This is going to be a tough financial year What shall I do with my retired G&G M4's? Also, I think the thread should either be renamed to cover all of the great content, or a new A&K thread be created.
  8. @ blarock86 So which would you recommend? The A&K for externals or the DTW for it's (relative) out of the box playability? Don't make me buy them both, my Gas Gun collection needs some love!
  9. Yeah, it seems the A&K is not widely available yet, I wonder if they will make changes for the full sales run. I must say, I'm still cautious about A&K, but your feedback is very tempting. Ironically, by the time I've spent all these funds on clones I might as well have bought the 'original'....well, that's airsoft
  10. :) what about the claims it's an 07 PTW clone? Is this true? Don't sell your DTW yet, put some rounds through the A&K first
  11. Hmm, either the guys at A&K have been working on this a really long time or they're as dumb as two short planks, why on earth would you go to the trouble of cloning something that was / is flawed? It's not like Systema haven't brought out subsequent models. But this is the kind of idiocy that makes me just avoid companies like A&K, cloning should be the most simplistic engineering endeavour, if they can't even do that right......
  12. Personally, I hope this sets a new 'standard' for AEG, and pushes the insular TM attitude back to where it came from. I hope every company outside of TM take this direction, and we see a flourishing after market parts based on TW rather than TM compatibility. Of course the next step, is taking the principles of the TW to other weapon platforms, SYSTEMA did it with the MP5, Real Sword did it (kinda) with the AK, now I wanna see SCAR, MASADA, SG552, you name it, all at TW standard. That would be my dream for AEGs going forward. If we have just one clone 'winner' and Systema to chose
  13. Just as a heads up, and especially for those of you (like me) who have a problem trusting A&K engineering' a new company AIRO ARMS is about to release it's PTW clone this year. Things are starting to really heat up, if these guys can keep up the quality with the tech, I can see this really pushing 'traditional' airsoft AEG's right off the table.
  14. Sorry forgot to answer, yep, worked every time. It's just something I'm used to because of my gas gun addiction. See good things spoil you
  15. Yep, that's what I'm talking about, and I was using a nasty 8.4v mini Honestly, for the money this unit leaves me speechless. I don't dare imagine what this means for AEG's in the future. When I have £320 in my pocket and I'm looking for another (not gas) gun, it will have to be this or the A&K (depending on how good it is)!!
  16. Sweet baby Jesus, yes, I mean't feet not yards typing while excited, never a good thing. I need to go out and buy lipos and a charger, but as soon as I do I'll do a video. Regarding bb's being chopped, I didn't have any of that, but then only did around 15 mags (had to sort some gas guns today as well ) I didn't check fps, but mine came with the blue cylinder so fps would be to hot to play at my sites, and 100 fps drop would put me in a reasonable gaming level I'll try to get these aspects on film when my lipos turn up.
  17. On topic: had the DTW out in the morning for some serious range testing, etc. OMG, it's early days but I love this gun. Let me just say, it's stock, no mods, no shiming, no Systema parts.....this is straight out of the G&D factory baby! To make matters worse, I was using and 8.4v NiMH unit...... Range was awesome, getting around 3 - 4inch groupings at around 40m (approx 130yds) on single shot with zero'd scope. Full auto was kack due to battery, but I will only use my rifles on single to practice trigger discipline for my gbbr's. Trigger response was phenomenal, seriously!! People
  18. Well, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I spent this evening fitting an element wire harness, M80 spring and shim set to my WE AEG (non kitana) gearbox, why? because it was sold to me shooting 410fps. No problem, that's a service issue rather than a gun issue. Gearbox was still a pig to work on, same as 6 years ago. Again, no problem, that's just me not being as adept at AEG gearboxes as some other people. Completed rebuild, reassembled gun, only to find element wire harness and trigger switch don't work. Sure I was hacked off, but you know what, I wasn't that surprised, this is the day
  19. No doubt about that! My point was I tried some, namely the Burst Wizard, and Airfet to name a few, and they had an adverse effect on the performance of the gun! That there's a specific MOSFET which works well doesn't surprise me, just it's frustrating to have to search so hard to find something that, in reality, should be very simple to produce and understand. This goes back to the point of a general increase in airsoft tech, quality and cost. IMHO, it's as patchy and risk laden as it ever was. Buying a product which is a lemon is more the norm than an exception. In a hobby with those credenti
  20. Yeah, but in terms of high expectations, you're robbing Peter to pay Paul, you're expecting Real Sword to do what everyone else has failed to do, put out a perfect product. Also, this fabled increase in airsoft quality, technology and cheapness? Really? Not saying you're necessarily wrong, but that point of view isn't an absolute, from my perspective airsoft tech, cost and quality has barely moved on. MOSFETs are the big thing now, but the ones I've tried have been *suitcase*. Split gearboxes aren't new, and neither is spring tension release....the biggest and most exciting innovation in a
  21. Uprated WE Katana, TM recoil, ASAR, the G&G 'thing'.....these are certainly a new breed of airsoft system, but they're not TW, due mostly to the inaccuracies of their dimensions and weight. Whilst these things are largely redundant to pure airsoft usage, if a product was designed to be used as a training product for law and military they would have significant bearing on the products effectiveness. IMHO, this is what denotes a training weapon.
  22. Lol...I thought by now the differences between a PTW and a standard AEG were well known. I will say this, my DTW feels somehow nicer to hold then my G&G Top Tech's.....almost as nice as my GBBr. This seems like a worthy TW
  23. Never heard of it. Did you make it up?
  24. Does anyone know if the black cylinder from King Arms will fit and function in the DTW?
  25. @ Nath True, but the price differential between the mainstream brands and ACM stuff isn't that large, so people can still justify buying from a "quality" brand, if such a beast really exists. In the case of Systema, the price gap is huge. I think the real Systema killer will the company who applies the TW touch to other rifle types, SCAR, AK, etc. Systema proved it was possible with the MP5.....
