  1. Fair enough. On a more philosophical note, how long before these TW really start to erode Systema's market? If they haven't already. Apart from the ultra hardcore PTW supporters anyone new to the TW sub market will surely look at these over a considerably more expensive PTW.
  2. Ah *suitcase*, just bought a DTW, after all the "hype" I had to see for myself. I think I'll wait before buying A&K, they can't seem to get standard AEG's right, so not sure they can manage a TW On another note, how long before we start seeing TW from G&P, G&G, VFC et al.
  3. Also watched the video, really well put together!!! You don't recommend the rifles though, which is also interesting. If I did buy one and did all of the work needed to get it running, roughly, what would you suggest would be the final price? Obviously the original low price is just for entry, how about actually playing
  4. This isn't slating the product. We're 9 pages into a product review, where the reviewer found the product to be less than satisfactory. Slating the product, as you put it, suggests a bunch of people with nothing better to do than find faults. This discussion is no more based on "slating the product" than you would find in any "Which Buy" magazine or Top Gear, or any other medium that reviews products. No doubt Magpul would love it if everybody took your attitude, and rather than make a fuss, or detail the problems you had, simply quietly take the product back to where you got it and see ho
  5. I am calm, I just refuse to congratulate a lack of TQM on Magpuls part. Actually, in response to one of your statements, I do think that guns not working straight out of the box shouldn't be sold, unless the buyer has no value attached to money. I'm also an Engineer (Automotive) and so I'm no stranger to customer satisfaction and design faults. Products are rushed out of the door in every industry to meet the project deadlines and ease investor angst, however, it's a risk companies take, it's now down to the consumer to decide whether that risk was justified or not.
  6. I am relaxed my money is safe!! I appreciate that there is two sides to this story, but, there really should only be one....the gun should work. I'm not being naive, most new products that hit the market, usually come with glitches, and things the designers never considered. I recently bought a Mad bull Daniel Defence rail, and the designers clearly had never heard of the term "tool access"! So I know the realities of the situation. But Magpul seem to have screwed up in areas that have been solved by other companies years ago. Dodgy gearbox shells on the Masada! Why? Gearbox shells aren't
  7. Upgrades is one thing, and by ddefinition, is down to user choice. Making a product fit for purpose is a completely different thing, and a shame on any customer who goes wittingly into a purchase with that in mind. Buying a gun as a fixer-upper, that again is different, it's for a laugh, and you wouldn't pay top dollar for it. But out of the factory, charging premium price, and I need to get the tool box out? Gimme a break.
  8. Firstly I don't own this rifle! Why? Because I read the review that the OP posted, and good number of follow up posts basically confirming his findings. Now I see people coming on saying that the OP is over-reacting, the problems can be fixed, and best yet.."I've never had a problem, my guns great". Seriously, WTF?!?! What is the point of a review section if someone bothers to do an in depth review (in this case, well documented) only to have his *albatross* handed to him, talk about ungrateful. But all that aside, clearly there are folks on here that want this gun to sell, either for bus
  9. Agreed! I'll probably burn for this, but IMHO, I'm tired of these companies springing up that want a market share but don't seem to want to invest in earning it. The DTW makers may fall into this category. When I was new to airsoft it was all about bang for buck, getting the nicest looking rifle for the least amount of money. Now, I see things different, I'm willing to pay (a lot) extra if my rifle stays in the game for a long long time. I want a gun which will perform every time I take it off the rack....all of these clones, and "johnny come lately's" don't seem to be able to do that.....at l
  10. I thought the official UK supplier was JD Airsoft?
  11. WHAT?!?! Why would you want this topic closed?. Personally, even though I'm not necessarily in favour of the DTW, I think it's story is far from told.
  12. I think you'll find that, aside from the OP, the majority of comments since have been made by people who have neither owned, or in some cases, plan to own the reviewed product. So unless you've spawned Moderator status, I would suggest winding in ones neck, rather than trying to dictate the placement of opinion. That said, in spite of your tone, I do agree (even though I've been an offending party), it would be nice to read a review thread that was filled with relevant fact and owner experience.
  13. For some people, going down to the range isn't an option, so spending money on a real steel AK is pretty meaningless. PTW's are what they are, sure I could spend money on a WELL MP5, hell, I could run around my local field with a McDonalds straw, anyone can spend less on their hobby. IMHO, if that's your attitude maybe the hobby isn't for you. If you find more fun in other things, just do those other things.
  14. Well, you can live in hope I guess. It's a bit like Lada getting together with Mahindra Mahindra, and everyone is expecting them to produce something that will beat a Bugatti Veyron, but cost the same as a Ford Focus.....gotta say, wake up!
  15. Yeah? because firing real rounds at people really works well in airsoft! When are people going to realise airsoft guns don't = real guns, it's like comparing a snooker cue to racing car.
  16. C'mon guys, seriously! My bet is people got bitten by the CTW gold rush and have made the simply logical leap, if CTW can't deliver a competent package, how the hell is something cheaper, which relays on a tie in with CTW, gonna be any better? My guess there's not enough been sold to warrant a second hand market flurry. Personally, I think the DTW looks , and any product that comes with spares from another company in the box, spells bad news! Even if people are drinking the coolade, and gushing all over their new (bargain basement) PTW copy, I'm gonna wait till I can afford the real thing
  17. Well, I wish I could say I'm surprised.....but I'm not, and I guess everyone who had their doubts about WE as a manufacturer are thinking the same way. I totally agree with Giqueand's statement above.....
  18. Yeah, I can fully imagine that WA focuses mainly (if not, totally) on the Japanese market, so I guess that really answers the question....albeit, from a personal point of view basis. In reality I guess we'll never know the "truth". So I guess the real "battle" outside of Japan, will be fought between WE and Inokatsu, and if the rumours are anything to go by, my money is on WE making more sales in the short to long term. Inokatsu has really handled the PR of their product quite badly and I think that will show in the units sold. Personally, I would be sad to see the WA unit just cease
  19. Guys This is a more general question, or speculation if you will. What do you think the up coming sales of the Inokatsu and WE rifles will do to the price of the WA? Does anyone think that the price will drop, especially as the Inokatsu rifle is pretty much the same thing but with "better" materials? Could the WA version become like the TM AEG, not necessaily cheap, but certainly the "Sportsline" of the GBB rifle world? If its true, and the Inokatsu group has set up some kind of trade agreement with WA, whereby they (WA) get a cut of the unit sales, then it seems strange that pe
  20. I'm all over that like a bad case of acne! I like it a lot!
  21. I'm not sure if this is relevant at this stage, or if its perhaps too early......but has anyone considered doing a quick "data sheet" of parts change and breakdown for the WA M4. I was thinking of a simple word document that had the original part that broke in one column, and the replacement parts and manufacturer in another column by the side. Just so anyone purchasing this rifle has access to a quick reference sheet rather then having to read through sixty odd pages of posts. Don't beat me if its a bad idea.
  22. Agreed. I wonder how much work it would be for a MOD to clear this thread up.
  23. Sorry to quote the whole thing, but I'm in agreement with almost everything you've wrote.....almost. I don't agree that the WA M4 was never intended as a skirmish rifle. If it were intended as a show piece only, then there are far more exciting and (IMHO) better products on the market....blank firing rifles with muzzle flash and recoil, which are cheaper and less prone to damage. I've heard the statement a few times, about the rifle not being for "play"....but then I really wonder what its purpose is? In reality, the WA is a great piece of kit, well thought out in terms of its o
  24. With respect, theres a lot of speculation regarding something that hasn't been officially released yet. Lets see if it doesn't come with CO2, considering thats how it was advertised, and without a mag, and with a poor ROF. If Inokatsu did put out a rifle that is actually worse than the WA, then fine, noone will buy it and they'll lose a massive market share, not to mention the fact that if they come back at a later date with a better product noone will trust it..... So what I'm trying to say is, if any of your statements came to pass, it'd be bad business.....and noone is in thi
