    Magpul PTS RM4 ERG Series.

KWA are the OEM, but the product belongs to PTS, so regardless of who actually makes it, the company with its name and logo plastered all over it have a logical vested interest in making sure it's viable to its customers. Something as fundamental as fps should be something PTS has a say in!

Well, let's consider for a second that he did buy it in person, and what if the seller revealed that the gun fired above 350fps (usual UK limit)....his options become buy it anyway, or walk away. Is this the only business choice that PTS wants to provide its UK customer base? I recognise that the UK may / may not be the be all and end all for most airsoft manufacturers, but a sale is a sale. The least PTS could do would be to create downgrade kits.....you guys are missing a trick here.

I wonder if the MKM upper would fit on a standard LM4?

The upper bodies on both the RM4 and the Mega Arms MKM are single piece designs. A welcome departure from the standard LM4 KWA bodies.

I'm giddy like a licking stick!!!! With regards to how hard the recoil action looks.....if I'm honest none of the guns (even GBBRs) look to have much recoil when you see it on a video....I think you can only judge these things with hands on experience. The great thing is, with so many companies releasing their version, the competition will be fierce as they fight for market share! Which will mean, I hope, stronger and stronger recoil! More models, and most importantly, prices will come down.....awesome prospects!

yes Lonex and I was hit with auto correct..... I love the engraved (stamped) body that Lonex has gone with.....its a nicer logo than the KWA in white. I'm just happy to see more companies go the recoil route for their AEG's, before long companies like G&G, ICS, G&P etc will either have to do something else or get out, because buying a standard AEG right now doesn't seem like a great way to spend money. If I'm honest the KWA rear wired isn't on my shopping list because of the nasty trades....the PTS Mega ARMs and Olympic Arms (I think that's right)....if both rear wired, are on the list! This Lonex one could be another list buy.

Newsflash: Airsoft GI has just posted up on YouTube a sneak peak at the new Lonex (bloody auto correct) Recoil M4.....the revolution has begun!! Can't wait to see how it compares to the KWA...

had to use something other than Frog lube.... But got it in. I'll see how it runs over the weekend, if its not great I'll try the G&G Green and we how that goes.

So....went through two Guarder hop rubbers trying to get them to fit in the hop unit.....never again....

Seriously? Accurate to 60m, with just a hop rubber? Damn....maybe I need to invest and try it.

How many rounds did you need to put through the Guarder rubber before you noticed the improvements?

Don't get me wrong, the sound is really a minor thing, hence why I have 3 RM4's and 0 TM Recoil Shocks. I'm probably going to put a couple of 1000 rnds through the standard system before I even contemplate 'upgrades', just so I can make an educated judgement on where I feel I would want more from the gun......so far it's delivering what I need. Wow, 15m....that's insanely bad, thankfully none of mine struggled to reach out to about 60m (did my 'testing' at the purpose built range at Gunman Airsoft The Grange)

    Magpul PTS RM4 ERG Series.

I can vouch for around the 60m mark, but bear in mind that mine are running as standard! Even though these guns will do the range, I'd say you can reliably expect accuracy up to 40m....50m if you spend the time and seriously aim. Trigger response is crisp, not as on point as a GBBR, but not as mushy as my other AEG's. TM rifles do sound nicer though!!

I wonder if it's possible to modify a standard AEG magazine by adding the follower in? That should activate the trigger cut off......

Well, the collaboration between PTS and KWA, considering PTS and Magpul are separate entities, has nothing to do with Magpul. That's like suggesting H&K have influence over Umarex using VFC as an OEM, or FN controlling Cybergun to use VFC. The licence holder in this case is PTS and they're using KWA and their new recoil technology. I bet those PTS RM4's are selling like hot cakes, so when the licence agreement to use Magpul trades etc runs out PTS isn't going to willingly kiss goodbye to a source of income.....I.e recoil type AEG's. It makes logical sense for them to use their recently acquired MKM licence to create further traded recoil guns.....and I'd rather have a recoil MEGA Arms then anything that TM is putting out right now.....I own the GBBR version and it's sweet as can be.

I'm predicting the Magpul version will soon die a death for PTS, and they'll no doubt make they're replacement RM4 based on the MEGA Arms MKM rifle.....given the Key Mod rail and the soon to be released KWA ERG, my guess the replacement PTS will also be rear wired as well!!

Looks nice, but I hate PEQ boxes. I'm going to leave my RM4's as they are and save the customisation for the rear wired KWA when they finally show up.

The best UK price is currently at that place we love to hate, yep, you got it, Special Airsoft Supplies.....nah, just kidding, best price is at the other place we love to hate.....Fire-Support.

Or if you want a Recoil AEG, what about the PTS RM4 ERG.....it has the recoil system and stops firing on the last round due to the magazines, but is also compatible (without an adaptor) with standard AEG magazines......has a quick change spring system so you can modify your FPS as you want it.....the cost is comparible to a Top Tech Gen3 AEG.

Guys, I get all of those points, what can I say? I don't subscribe to them. Again, sounds all very reasonable, but I still don't buy it! People having funds tied up in a single platform? Seriously? So people are unable to determine that their funds will be tied up before they purchase the gun? They actually need to buy it to realise "doh", now all my money is tied into one gun!?!? Hey, do you realise how many JG G36's I could buy with the money tied up in my Vipertech? Would it seem logical for me to sell it to go buy those G36's?....well, maybe, to you..... Even the argument that people fancy a change.....to what? There's a guy on Zero In right now looking to trade a TM Sopmod for a VFC HK416?!?! Not even a TM version, but a standard AEG....surely this guy is taking a huge leap backwards, or am I just misunderstanding how great VFC AEG's are? (Even though I own two of them...) Now the part about modification, this always makes me smile. First up, and I speak from first hand experience here, the materials that TM uses strikes me as being some what..."China soft", maybe the materials are excellent, but then the finish.....I don't know, when I handled the SCAR and the M4, everything just felt toy like and cheap.....so that said, why is it that EVERY OTHER airsoft platform can be modified but the TM seems to suffer? And before you talk about "new technology", this has been said about TM's since way before the Recoil Shock system. My guess is because while every other platform needs to be downgraded to basically operate below its standard parameters, the TM's always need to be pushed BEYOND their basic operating limits. If this isn't done correctly or wholesale on the system, pop goes the weasel! But again, why are "so many" opting to do these mods? And I don't believe for one second that people are tinkering for that sake of it....what, with such an investment? That works "so well" out of the box? My guess is that these people are taking their guns out to play and are dissatisfied with the performance....why else would you pump yet more money into an already expensive item? It seems that Eagle6 has started a business out of that dissatisfaction..... Now these are just my impressions from what I can see and touch. I've had numerous opportunities to purchase a TM recoil and every time, once viewing the situation logically, it never made sense....to me. If it made sense to you and others, great.....have at it. I'm never going to convince you that you made a poor purchase, nor would I want to, equally you won't convince me that it's a purchase I should make....at least not the current TM offerings.

Ok, well, they're all fair points. I don't want to turn this thread into an ERG vs TM debate. All I'm really saying is, if the TM is as "good" as everyone states, it makes little or no sense why "so many" seem to be going up for sale. Saying airsofters are fickle, just doesn't make sense, unless fickle translates into wanting something not as good as what you have. FYI, the EBB section is not dedicated to Recoil Shock's, the section is intended for guns that have Electric Blow Back (the faux bolt sliding back and forth), the addition of Recoil is because that's the most convienient location for them....again, if you're pro anything, you'll find reasons to be so, and that obviously works in the other direction as well.

Take a wander over to Zero In and see for yourself. I think you'll find that most people are trading these TM's for things neither "latest" or "shiny"......
