  1. Ive fallen in love with that AK....and i normally hate the tactified ones; youve made it work and respect for that; its a rare gift. I thin its cause it still recognisable as an old beaten up ak, just with modern parts added to it over the years, as the old owners die the new ones pick it up, add parts to it, but its steal got the heart of an old and abused ak.

That grip is a work of art; if you did the paint yourself would you care to share a few tips? Im modernizing mine a bit by adding a 74m stock, a micro scope, Ive got some short sections of rail and may fit them to the stock. I would love a grip like that though, the colour is perfect and screams: "im old, been around man, and killed in tripled digits."

It's actually a real AK grip from some plum furniture sets my friend and I had ordered years back. Unfortunately I'm not really sure whether its a Russian set or some other Soviet bloc nation. Thank you very much for the compliment!

  2. I'm not sure the Zenit dovetail rail would clear the suppressor, actually. It curves up and basically fits pretty close around the cleaning rod.

I'm not 100% sure we're talking about the same rail, but this is the one I'm thinking of (below the suppressor)

  3. I've had ridiculous feeding issues with mine, resulting in two broken nozzles and three destroyed hop up rubbers, and one destroyed Aplus integrated hopup chamber/barrel. I'm not sure if I should be trying new BBs, or buying a new hopup chamber/loading ramp. I've been unable to ascertain so far exactly where the problem lies.

  4. ahah! The gentleman who owns the longer 870 in my picture is currently negotiating with a local collector for a lot of two working m1100s and a broken m870 to harvest for parts. I understand the M1100s have to be run on duster however.

  5. Mine's on the left, and is all plastic, but with an upgraded hammer spring, and my friend's is on the right, it's got a metal receiver and barrel, and he custom made a magazine tube extension for it. He managed to dremel out a real police wood stock to fit the gas tank as well, it's very impressive. I've got a metal body on the way for mine actually; I was inspired by his!

  6. Neither of my 1911s have beavertails! Good catch on the hammer, I was originally going to build a MEU (SOC) but i got distracted along the way. I also prefer the look of the old school 1911 MSH, and I have that trigger in both of my 1911s. Like you said, we just have different tastes ;P
