  1. Is that website any good? They seem to have some really good kit at stupid cheap prices, and seem to offer free shipping to the UK on all of it... I'm suspicious - what's the catch?
  2. Dude! I'm sorry if calling you "dude" offended you, Dude. I won't call you it anymore if you don't like it. Mate. Where did you get the new British MTP pattern?
  3. Dude, this is a picture thread. There's a questions thread linked in my Sig. I know we've got a bit off-topic lately, and it's as much my fault as anyone's, but let's not digress further, lest the Mods turn up and get annoyed.
  4. Ah, I see what you mean now. Mostly people are just missing the information because they start reading the thread at the end (most recent posts) instead of at the beginning where all the information is. Not being a Mod, I can't keep pruning all the random branches off to keep it easy to reference the info people are looking for. Are the dimensions not on the TM exploded diagram that's linked on the first page? I can drag the AUG out and measure things if you are really stuck, but it's in a box under a mountain of stuff - haven't used it in nearly two years, what with Afghan and everyth
  5. So you just didn't read my post, then? Bold added for emphasis. Well, you *could* have asked it in the AUG *Questions* thread instead of the AUG *Pictures* thread, but that's just a minor point. All of that information, and more details of stripping, etc, are in the AUG FAQ thread. That's why I suggested looking there. That's what I made the thread for.
  6. I've never been really sure why anyone would replace the perfectly good folding foregrip with a rail so they can mount.... a *foregrip* on it...?!? O_o The short rail is too small for a UGL or anything else really, apart from a light or whatever, but you're still going to need a foregrip, so there's not enough room for one as well as a light or laser. So really - what is the point? The only reason I can see for the real steel 9mm A3 XS having one is that the foregrip on the 9mm didn't fold anyway, because the barrel is too short. And apparently a lot of people don't like the AUG's fore
  7. The proper A3 foregrip rail system thingy has rails on the sides as well, for the attachment of lasers and lights and whatever. Yours has a little rail on the top - what's the thought behind that? The scope on the A3-SF would be hard to make, but it might be possible to modify one of the existing scoped receivers from an A1? I'm not sure that TM did such a bad job with the AUG HC - the rail *DOES* look too chunky but I've seen a lot worse. Your design would look a lot better in there instead of the TM stock one, I definitely agree with you there. But I don't actually want
  8. Ooooh... I like that. But when is someone going to make the Desert Eagles with custom silencers from Boondock Saints 2?????
  9. The A3-SF doesn't have a rail replacing the foregrip. This is the AUG A3: It has a rail system where the folding AUG foregrip goes. The A3-SF looks like this: Note the original style AUG folding grip and receiver have been restored, and how it looks good again instead of ugly as *fruitcage*. The 9mm version also has a rail where the foregrip should be, but it only has a single rail instead of 3 like the 5.56mm A3: You'll note how that looks remarkably similar to the AUG High Cycle that TM recently released, although TM didn't bother to make the 9mm magazine adaptor for it, sticki
  10. Is it wrong that I want that Desert Eagle???
  11. I'm sure they used to be cheaper than that... The new A3-SF and A3-XS 9mm both have those rails directly on the side as you've done, so you're fine on the realism side with that rail anyway. Great job, and thanks for sharing.
  12. Or, even easier, (but a bit more expensive) buy one of these: I've had one for many years, use it on my A1 style AUGs with the built-in scope (mainly because the flat-top AUG receiver is too low to fit it comfortably) and it works well. The up side is that if you decide you don't want a side rail any more, then there are no holes in the receiver. The down side is that it's not "real steel" and it costs more than a really cheap rail and a couple of screws.
  13. I wonder why this is supplied with iron sights instead of a SUSAT replica - no LSWs ever use iron sights, even the ones belonging to my Signals unit have SUSATs.
  14. Fair point, I guess... That's a very accurate looking replica, then. Must look at getting some of those covers then. I've got all sorts of odd-sized rails on my various guns.
  15. Did you just rob a real-steel rail kit from your work? What are those green two-part rail covers? I could use some of those...
  16. borgcymru - seems to me that you're the kind of person who would complain to the bar staff that the restaurant where you wanted to meet someone to discuss a private business transaction wanted you to actually buy their products before giving you a table to sit at.... When you think of this "real world" comparison, does your attitude seem reasonable? This airsoft website and forum is NOT a commerical site, auction site, sales site or anything else. It is a forum for discussion, conversation and suchlike that just happens to have a classified system tacked on the end. Much like a sports maga
  17. Natural wear is the way forward - people trying to make their brand-new gun look "battle-used" confuse me. Just *use* it, it'll soon look used!
  18. Is that a paint-job, or is it just dirty? And where's the flash excluder?
  19. The reasoning behind the post limit is quite simple, and has been explained many times. It is there for the protection of all users, by preventing scammers/spammers etc from setting up false adverts and then running off with the money, and other such nefarious activities. If you wanted to buy a gun, why would you come to a FORUM, rather than go to one of the many retailers out there? This is not a shop, it's a place for discussions and social intercourse. Getting 100 posts is easy by even half-involvement in a few topics.
  20. Yeah, when I said blued finish, I meant black. Although if yours is made from steel, there's no reason it couldn't be blued - but it would be too expensive, I'd expect. Anodising would probably be *much* cheaper.
  21. Those are gorgeous. Although personally I don't like the gold screws and prefer a blued finish to chrome...
  22. Would be helpful if anyone PMing with interest on an item would post in the sale topic too. But yeah, I'll make sure to post the buyer in the topic on any future sales I make.
  23. Yeah, a lot of my sales threads don't actually have anyone posting in them to register interest, people do tend to do it by PM. Which is fine until months or even years later, when you've deleted the PM and can't find out who you sold XYZ item to...
