  1. See the AUG FAQ thread linked in my Sig for some information on barrel options (it's in some of the earlier posts) as well as all manner of other information (although you have to wade through some dross to get it, since I can't delete the useless posts). It seems there are quite a few more options available for the AUG these days, so some of the information in the FAQ thread might be in need of updating.
  2. TM's AUG High Cycle *IS* an A3. It's the AUG A3 XS 9mm without the 9mm magazine adaptor. As seen here: As you can see, there aren't many external differences between the receivers and barrels of the A3 9mm XS and the standard A3: Just a squared-off rail instead of the curved front, a shorter barrel, completely different gas block (because the 9mm version uses a different system than the 5.56mm) and a different foregrip rail. Converting a TM AUG HC to look more like the 5.56mm A3 shouldn't be hard at all. The rail you linked to earlier seems like a good place to start
  3. Not sure it fits here either, but it's interesting to see. And it at least seems to have been AUG-influenced. Thanks for posting it.
  4. @Probotector - liking the rail attachment on the scope. Totally thinking about getting one for my AUG now. Don't know why I didn't think of that.... @Im going space - I demand an explanation. Seriously, where did you get that?
  5. Nice AUG HBAR and HBAR-T. Is the stock painted, because it looks too bright in the pic? It might just be the camera, I guess...
  6. That's an awesome looking Desert Eagle. Loving the wood grips. You really should have gone of the Boondock Saints style suppressor though.
  7. You'd need a LOT of tape to make up a 2mm deficit, I think. Although, having said that, I actually glued tiny sections from an old bicycle inner-tube to the underneath of a red-dot sight that wouldn't fit right on a 20mm rail.
  8. Seriously? How hard is it to machine an RIS rail to the right size? It's not like there's some secret about how wide a TWENTY-MILLIMETRE rail is supposed to be...
  9. Really not seeing a lot of criticism there. Don't you just love it when people who aren't even involved in a conversation choose to get offended?? As for the AUG scope being unusable, I certainly don't agree with that. I've found it to be very accurate if you can be bothered to take the time to set it up and zero it. Admittedly, the field of view is a bit limited, and I wouldn't really want to use it indoors for CQB, but for outdoor use it's fine. You don't need much more zoom that it offers for airsoft purposes anyway, since the accurate range of the AEG isn't that far in the first place
  10. G36s have a 4x scope, so there's obviously a need for a red dot. The AUG has a 1.5x scope, so there seems to be very little need for one.
  11. That's actually really nice the way it is. Although with the AUG only having a 1.5x scope, I'm not sure you'd need a red dot on top, but it looks good.
  12. Hmmm..... It's got to be something wrong with my browser or PC, I had the same display problem again when I loaded the "My Eye!" thread again today, but I closed the tab and navigated to the same thread from the forum home page and the font is displaying fine. I'm completely confused....
  13. If I do what? Could I reinstall the font? How do I know what font it is? EDIT - Suddenly the fonts are all displaying correctly again. I haven't done anything as far as I know - I closed Chrome in between the two posts I've made today and rebooted my machine to install a new printer, but that's all. I like to think I know a little bit about computers and suchlike, but I'm totally baffled.
  14. I'm using Chrome 21.0.1180.79 m (which tells me it is up to date) with Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 64-bit. I'm not aware of any add-ons or plugins that might affect the way fonts display. As you can see from the image, only some fonts are affected, not the main text on posts. The fonts used to display without a problem, I've only noticed it in the last month or so (I'm not on here as much as I used to be, so it's not really something I've bothered about until now) I'm at a bit of a loss, no other websites seem to be affected, only this one.
  15. I'm not sure if this is anything that you can fix, but I'm getting seriously message-up fonts for a lot of the forum sections, the topic "path" at the top of the page; people's user names; some Sig text; the text under people's avatar image on posts, some buttons; quoted text and so on. I took a screenshot to show the issue - weird text is highlighted with red arrows (badly drawn in Paint) - click for larger version. I'm using the latest version of Google Chrome if that makes any difference?
  16. Ah... Well, in that case I may not bother. Makes your work even more impressive, though.
  17. Hmmm.... Maybe I should replace my upgraded CA gearbox with an upgraded JG one if they have hot-swappable springs....
  18. @Jibbity - That's really impressive work. Personally, I hate it, but it is still really impressive. What did you say it's made from? How did you fix it all together? Looks like you'd have the technical skills to make a pretty good replica of the A3 receiver if you set your mind to it. And that's something a few people on here would be interested in.
  19. Glad you found it. I suspected it'd be in the FAQ thread.
  20. I'm really only interested in the barrel and receiver section - I don't really want a black stock as I will use the green one I already have, and I don't really need a high-RoF for my style of play. My Doc-upgraded CA gearbox gets plenty of FPS and RoF for my needs with my 7.2V LiPo battery pack already. So if someone were to want the gearbox, stock and related parts, then I'd be happy to let them have 'em as long as I get the receiver and barrel parts. Yep, I've got one that Treadhead sent me (IIRC), works a treat. It's not even that unrealistic as some of the the Australian F88 AUG
  21. What's the RoF and FPS like on it, out of the box? I'm really not sure that such a high RoF is really necessary - I certainly stick to single shot most of the time anyway - and as I only use midcaps I'm a bit concerned that it would go through ammo too fast. Really, I'm only wanting the front end, to put on my green AUG stock anyway as part of Project AUG. If anyone would want to split one with me for the suped-up gearbox and whatnot, I'd be happy with that.
  22. Project AUG has since expanded into a second case, since one is no longer big enough to hold it all. And I still need the AUG HC to get an accurate replica of the 9mm AUG A3-XS. It really never ends...
  23. Thanks for the info, I was looking at the AR-15 style scope to complete the SG-1 style look for my G3-SBS. Even if it's not very good, it's really cheap and it's more about looks than anything else anyway, since I mostly use that gun for Urban, so don't really need super-long-range.
  24. The rail on the AUG A3-XS is a cut-down version of the standard AUG A3's rail, near as I can tell, given that the barrel on the 9mm XS is much shorter than the 5.56mm A3 . I'm not really sure why Steyr felt the need to change the rail the way they did, keeping the front slope of the rail would have allowed them to retain the front sling loop as well as looking a bit more sleek and streamlined, which has always been a feature of the AUG. Above, 5.56mm AUG A3. Below, 9mm AUG A3 XS As you can see, the rail on the XS looks like they simply cut the sloping front part off the regular A3
  25. Go back a page or two, you'll see a lengthy discussion between myself and TerranCmdr, with photos of the 9mm AUG A3 XS which is what TM based the High Cycle on. Even down to removing the gas tube (because the AUG 9mm doesn't use gas parts like an assault rifle, it uses blowback like a pistol) but not even to make a 9mm magazine adaptor for it. What's wrong with putting the battery in the battery compartment in the stock behind the gearbox, where it belongs? @bladerunner - Is that your AUG HC? What are your experiences with it - how does it perform, etc? I've been wanting one since
